Love the bedtime buds :yummy:
So I’m going to go against the grain and suggest you grow lemon candy! I’ll drop mine if you do?? :D

Do that! Consider it a request from the audience. :) A grow with newty! It sounds like a lovely strain.:ganjamon:

I’ve been reading in a couple threads lately the differences in wet trimming and dry trimming. I wonder if this is part of the same conversation. Are the buds still pulling elements from the leaves for a bit if you dry trim. I don’t know. It’s all new to me. Lol. I just want the best taste and potency I can get with my setup. Lol. That’s all I want!

Hey Magoo, catching uo so i am about 10 days behind. Just wanted to weigh in on this flush vs no flush.

I come across articals all the time about various subjects that people often have opposing takes on, flushing vs not flushing, wet trim vs dry trim, buddy wash vs no bud wash. Many times for every person supporting what they think is best, you can find another person who will quickly oppose that point.

I am a big believer in read what you can and the experiment for yourself. What is best for me might not be best for you. So my point is maybe be the guy that flushes one plant and doesn't flush the other and actually compare. Then you will have your answer.....or at least initial data to form an opinion. If you are in a position to experiment and gain first hand knowledge by trying different things to see what's best FOR you, always chose to take advantage of that and do it.

Now I don't know if flushing is needed or not....or if wet trim is easier or better....or If slow and low drying is better than hang drying, but guess what......i know what I like based off trying them and coming to my own opinion.

Very true. Thanks for that. It can get overwhelming if we let it. I just want the best product I can have at the end. And your right. My tastes in “this is better than this” may differ from yours or others. I think in my own mind I had kinda settled on just cutting the nutrients way back to maybe find a middle ground. Maybe between 1/8 and 1/4 strength to finish it out. That way I don’t completely deprive the plant of something it may want in its final days but at the same time it’s not such a large amount. But I may try flushing one and not the other like you said so I can experience the difference.

Hey guys. Got in the tent for a a few minutes to just give it a look over. Gonna shower and then give them a water. While I was in there though I noticed that some of the sugar leaves had a brown tint to the trichomes visibly. Looked through the loupe and there are pretty big sections that have a lot of Amber trichomes. Would any of you expect this at day 33 of flower? Most of the pistols are still white but there are numerous dark ones now. There are lots of clear trichomes as well but a decent % amber. Not sure what to do. I want these girls to go as long as they can before harvest but I also don’t want all dark trichomes either. Any insight is appreciated.
Mine finished fast from 420. I harvested my Blue Dream at 52 from flip, 43 with hairs. Watch the pistils and the buds, they are a better indicator with this strain I think.

Great job Magoo, sorry I haven't been around lately. I got a couple of plants that seem to harboring these broad/hemp mites and I didn't want to bring 'em in here.
I've had some great backing and the plants are strong so hopefully I can douse those bastards.

It won't be long now before you can tuck this one under your belt. Good job bud!

Thanks Dynamo! Appreciate the compliments. I’m proud of these girls so far. With the help I’ve received here we’ve just about got through this first grow. After this I just have to take what I’ve learned and build off of it. A couple changes for the next grow include larger pots and Doc Buds kit. I’m probably biting off more than I can chew for this grow area but I plan on 3 10gal pots. It’s gonna be a jungle and a nightmare. Lol. Sounds like an adventure though. Lol

Be careful my friend as a tent which is too crowded can reduce yields because of lack of light penetration and air flow

Very true Flash. I’m gonna have to get in there after this grow and take some measurements. I’m gonna have to see the dimensions actually available with 2 tower fans in there. I’m just gonna have to set a limit on width per plant and once they hit that limit I have to let them go vertical. Will be difficult keeping the canopy level at that point for sure if I can’t pull down the mains. May have to use some other methods at that point. Does that sound feasible to you guys or is this space just too small for that? I may pull these blue dreams out when lights come on in a bit and set the larger pots in there and see how they look. I’ll post some pics and some measurements and get y’all’s input .

Blue Dream
Flower Day 38

RH 45-64
Temp 68-75

They are chugging right along. I am consistently feeding them 1/2 gallon every other day throughout flower. Still alternating nutrients at 1/2 strength and water. I have cut the calmag out completely but since then I have seen some brown spots popping up on the leaves. I can see it under the led’s but not when I remove a leaf and try to get a pic under regular light. But it kinda looks like little rust spots under the blurple. I’m kinda thinking calcium deficiency since it started after cutting the cal mag. but I’ve also boosted potassium which I’ve read can show the same signs as calcium deficiency. So I don’t really know what to do about that. I know the leaves won’t become better and I’m not sure there is any new growth to check progress on. Any recommendations?

I also moved the girls around in the tent just to allow air flow from different angles. I’ve consistently turned them but today I moved them to the opposite side of the tent. While I had them out I trimmed the tips off the buds on Party Girl. Hoping this will help them chunk up a bit more. Here are a few pics while they were out of the tent!

While I had them out I also decided that I will probably just run 2 plants again next run in 10gal pots. I wish I had more room for the 2 I have in there now in 5gal pots. I’m sad though because I was really looking forward to getting some variety going. But I don’t want to mess up the whole grow. After I do 2 I will see if it is conceivable to do another. Better safe than sorry.

Mixed up the first run of the High Brix soil today. Could have only done half since I will only need 20 gallons for the next run. Nevertheless there is probably about 45 gallons cooking. But that should allow me to not have downtime while waiting for soil to cook between runs. Mixed it up right in the kitchen floor. Lol. Here’s a couple pics.
