1st Grow: Blue Dream

So many variables.....unless done in tightly controlled variables, tough to say when is the right time, how much to take off, indica vs sativa, etc, I have a hard time believing or disbelieving something without trying it firsthand.

Oh yeah. Everything should tried at least once. Everyone's setups are all different and different methods can be beneficial in one and not in the other. After doing backbuilding though I just wouldn't really try anything else from here on out. It becomes muddled to determine what the method is actually doing if you try 3 or 4 tricks all in one grow.

Blue Dream
Flower Day 38

RH 45-64
Temp 68-75

They are chugging right along. I am consistently feeding them 1/2 gallon every other day throughout flower. Still alternating nutrients at 1/2 strength and water. I have cut the calmag out completely but since then I have seen some brown spots popping up on the leaves. I can see it under the led’s but not when I remove a leaf and try to get a pic under regular light. But it kinda looks like little rust spots under the blurple. I’m kinda thinking calcium deficiency since it started after cutting the cal mag. but I’ve also boosted potassium which I’ve read can show the same signs as calcium deficiency. So I don’t really know what to do about that. I know the leaves won’t become better and I’m not sure there is any new growth to check progress on. Any recommendations?

I also moved the girls around in the tent just to allow air flow from different angles. I’ve consistently turned them but today I moved them to the opposite side of the tent. While I had them out I trimmed the tips off the buds on Party Girl. Hoping this will help them chunk up a bit more. Here are a few pics while they were out of the tent!

While I had them out I also decided that I will probably just run 2 plants again next run in 10gal pots. I wish I had more room for the 2 I have in there now in 5gal pots. I’m sad though because I was really looking forward to getting some variety going. But I don’t want to mess up the whole grow. After I do 2 I will see if it is conceivable to do another. Better safe than sorry.

Mixed up the first run of the High Brix soil today. Could have only done half since I will only need 20 gallons for the next run. Nevertheless there is probably about 45 gallons cooking. But that should allow me to not have downtime while waiting for soil to cook between runs. Mixed it up right in the kitchen floor. Lol. Here’s a couple pics.

Wow Magoo! That blue dream looks awesome! Amazing training you did! Are you going to keep this journal going or do a new one for your Brix adventure? Looking forward to following along!

Looking good Magoo. Good call putting the calmag back in. I have no experience with synthetic nutes, and don’t know about mag but calcium is required during flower, in a big way - for bud development and for terpene production, so best not to reduce calcium during flower :thumb:

I hope my final colas look as good as these ones!:yummy:

I will be doing a new one. Will close this one after the northern lights auto is finished since I started it here. I’ll start it when I germinate the next seeds.

I’m sure they will Amy. Probably better. :thumb:

I trust all you guys and many more on this site. The guidance I have received has been the most rewarding part of all this so far. I’m learning about each and every one of you. There are things I know I could ask some of you based on what I’ve seen in y’all’s grows and take that answer to the bank. That’s the benefit Shed speaks of. And there are some things that there are multiple viewpoints on and those are the things that ultimately I or any other grower has to make their own decisions on. That’s the experimentation Van speaks of. It’s easy to get pulled into things based on the excitement we new growers have without proper research. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it won’t. But like Van said there are so many variables that effect the end product along the way that just because something may not work for me if I try it doesn’t mean it won’t for someone else. But for me....I just wanted to get these girls to harvest! Lol. That’s the big W for me. I’m just tryin ta smoke good! I do ask a lot of questions because I want to know you guy’s input. And sometimes I follow the advice and sometimes I don’t. So I apologize for being an #askhole sometimes!
But I do sincerely hope you guys take some pride in helping someone get to harvest that is new to this, because I’m very very grateful!
