1st Grow: Blue Dream

Looking fantastic, a sea of developing buds. Any chance you'll be getting a bigger tent in time?
I’m limited on space. This tent is in my laundry room. I would never be growing more than 4 plants without change in laws as well. Unless I had multiple spots.:hmmmm:

Second little veg area somewhere! Then you could do a mini perpetual, 2 in veg 2 in flower all the time :slide: Kind of like how Duggs does it with 4. He tries to match the flowering times on 2 differnt strains and then does 2 of each. You could something similar with 2 per run...

Can’t wait to see what happens in there on your next grow!

:Namaste:

Hey Amy, while you’re here...the High Brix kit...after your first run do you simply add the recharge amendment and go or does it have to cook again at that time. I know this is your first run with yours but I also know you probably already knew the answer to this question before you bought it. Lol.

And I was just thinking about the veg area and running 2 in each spot. Wouldn’t have to be tall and once I build a new light I can just use this one in the small tent. It’s an option but I would struggle to find the space still. But definitely food for thought.

I probably am getting the most out of this light but I am looking to put some variety on the shelves like shed mentioned. That’s one reason I’d like to try some autos for the next run and then back to photos. I need to take a Critical look at the seeds I have and how they grow and see which 3 will grow well together. Could probably put DDA in there as a 4th. I don’t think they get big.

So the recharge goes on during early flower, along wth a couple of handfulls of worm castings and this carries through flower and into the next run. I’m fairly sure that’s right. I’ll check my guide and come back if it’s not :)

Then there is an additional 3rd run amendment that can be applied for another run after that.

:thumb: check with Duggs how he does it. I’m pretty sure his early veg area is small - just for like a month before the flowering ones are going to finish so when he harvests, he’s 4-5 weeks into the next round already. COuld do it in a cupboard! I’m seriously considering it in my future.

And - doing autos with the kit might not be straight forward. Totally doable of course, and I plan to do some DDA outside with the kit this summer. But I’d suggest you do at least one run of photoperiod with just following the kit instructions first - it’s what Doc recommends and could help avoid odd issues trying an auto first up. Suppose you could use your current methods for the autos, they seem to be working pretty well!

Gotta get back to look at how you trained these Blue Dreams... how many times did you top?

:Namaste:

Just topped once at the 4th node. Then removed the branches at 1st n 2nd node leaving just the 4 main branches at 3rd and 4th nodes

Such a tidy setup. Definitely need to get on the LEDs my self. Looks sick man.
Thanks Norris! And thanks for stopping by. Make yourself right at home.

Not sure if I've seen someone do a quadline in docs kit yet. Hopefully when you get the kit you'll try it on one! That'd be a fun combination of two methods that originated here at 420 magazine. I know they stayed a bit shorter than you wanted but isn't an even sea of colas one of the most pleasing things to look at? Derbybud is a great example of someone whose plants don't get that tall at all but this colas are beautiful and stacked so nicely. His yields have been great as well.

You've done an awesome job training these Magoo! Light and air are getting everywhere on these colas and they are loving it. Frost is everywhere too. This has been an awesome grow so far.

Thanks so much Ase, you and all the quadsquad. Lol. I appreciate all the advice and guidance through the training of these girls. And I’m definitely excited to quadline some girls in docs kit. I didn’t think any of us were using that medium yet. Excited to try something new. I’ve been meaning to ask you about this auto I’ve got growing. I know you aren’t a fan of autos but I know you’ve grown some nice ones. I was still planning to top at the 4th node but wasn’t sure about other training. She is outdoors in a 10g softpot. Would you still remove lower branches or would you just lst as she grew to keep everything spread out? Or just top and let her go?

It s so true! Even if we're all looking for huge harvest, it s so grateful to grow nice shaped looking plants growing things in a symmetrical way! Your tent looks wonderful @Mr. Magoo!
