1st Grow: Blue Dream

Hi Magoo! Just having a look around as my search for Blue Dreams around the site led me here. I haven’t gone back for a good look at yours yet, I’m heading that way now.

I just wanted to pipe in to that conversation you’re having with @Asesino85 about the heart stuff. I’m researching this at the moment. It is known that some strains - so certain terpene profiles maybe - can cause what known as tachycardia (elevated heart rate) in some people. You’re not imagining it! So I’m trying to source some more information on it but you will sometimes see strain profiles mention whether it’s been reported to bring on tachycardia or not. There are no doubt terpenes that would reduce this effect too, and help to calm so I’m on a hunt for these, and plants with corresponding terps - it’s a lot of fun hunting!. My favourite toke at the moment definitely makes my heart race and that’s not good. But I love the high a lot, so while CBD can ease it, it eases the high a bit as well. Maybe their related, but like you I’m seeking the high without the tachycardia and so far what I’ve found out is that terpene profile is the answer :)
I’m thinking that blueberry is one that perhaps reduces it... so have you tried the blue Dream yet Magoo? I’m curious. I’ll have to check back through my notes (she says as if they’re something organised - they’re not:rolleyes:)

Heading back now to check your blue Dream out :thumb:

The two that got me that way were both super heavy Indica. After the one major incident happened for me where I actually went to a doctor, a lot of it was mental at that point. I really had talk myself down and was almost smoking in fear that it would happen again. It wasn't all mental but that pocket of nerves would get pushed on my mind would immediately go to worst case scenario. Pacing around never really helped but I discovered that doing yoga/stretching and trying to meditate really helped calm my body and breathing down. A little cold water towel on the back of the neck too.

I tried to keep track of strains that gave me extreme munchies and ones that didn't give me them at all. When I tried to avoid the ones I knew gave me the ultimate munchies I ended up losing about 20 pounds. I lost my notes somewhere and started doing so many different strains, I kind of stopped keeping track. Now that I am not as overweight it isn't as important to me but it is truly crazy how many different things that can happen with different strains of cannabis. We know of a few major things that CBD and THC can help with but the research done so far is so small. Maybe different strains can be tailored to different medical needs and cannabis can cure or help with hundreds or thousands of things. Maybe you could grow a strain that blocks receptors and makes it so you aren't hungry, effectively putting you on a diet just by smoking. The next decade is going to be fun to see what medically comes out of this and it's exciting people are starting to fund actual scientific research.

I know right! Nice work keeping track of those munchie inducing strains, even if you don’t have the notes anymore. I need to get better organised with mine... or not :laughtwo:

This is great! I recently read a blog by someone who lives wth the same (or similar) neuro-immune condition I am currently wrangling and they write about using a cold pack between the shoulders to reduce the overactive nervous system, settle heart rate etc. apparently it’s a thing! I love it when new information comes at you from multiple directions at once!

Been enjoying reading over your quadlining here Magoo. I’m up to where you just flipped - looking tops! :nomo::popcorn:

I feel like I watched a video on YouTube about a strain that curbs appetite. Feel like it was a seed to strain video maybe.

I can’t tell you how many times on this forum that I had a random trout on something and the very next thread I viewed provided answers or great info on the subject.

This is spooky Magoo! I posted nearly the identical sentiment on my journal earlier today :high-five: It’s like this place is blessed by the Helpful Synchronicity Faerie :battingeyelashes:

I love the high of a Sativa and I miss just being able to get blown. I hope by growing my own I can find a strain that allows me to fly without getting in my own head and messing it up. I have heart issues and when I’m high and feel like my heart is racing it freaks me out. Lol.
My lem skunk was the one for me. Im gonna be getting more beans find a mother n clone the shit out of her lol.
Wow shows how much i aint been about. Didnt even know you had an outdoor girl lol

I haven’t updated her much. Bag seed that I wasn’t impressed with before except they’ve all been female.

Seedling Day 8

New pots came in today so after our talks here I thought I better up pot this girl. Still using Foxfarm Ocean Forest soil. Got some Great White mycorrhizae this time around. Mixed a tad in with the soil, sprinkled a tad in the hole and mixed with regular tap water. During the transplant the transplant cup I made performed pretty well. I have some pics below of it. Once she was in there I poured about 2 gallons of water through there just to give it a good drench. 10 gal is pretty heavy when full. Probably overkill for this girl but we can check out the rootball when she’s done! Here’s some pics!

In other news....Ordered Doc Buds High Brix kit today. Really excited about that. Hopefully I can have it ready by the time the Blue Dream girls are finished. Next upgrade will be lights! But that may be a minute! Lol.

Hey congratulations Magoo! :theband:

I usually think congratulations when someone buys something are totally stupid - shopping websites do it all the time  - but in this case it’s totally appropriate. You wont regret the decision. :thumb:
