Thanks for the compliments and thanks for taking the time to teach me this method. I think it has really let me make the most of my space! Those ATFs of yours are gonna have some monster buds I think! As far as mine not stretching much....what could I have done to allow for a little more stretch?
I followed your suggestions and let them grow to 24” away. The light is a blurple with 240 10 watt diodes pulling 450 watts at the wall. I’m satisfied with how they are, I was just expecting more height through stretch. Do they continue to grow vertical from this point? Like do the buds grow taller from here or do they form from all the bud growth that is currently on the existing branches? They really have a lot of growth probably halfway down the length of the branches. There can be a couple of factors in this. The first is the grow medium. You are a soil grower and I grow in coco. Plants just grow faster and larger in hydro. To match that you probably need to let them veg longer. By vegging longer you allow the roots to fill the entire pot really well. I've found that plants stretch better when their roots are more established. I don't know if you use a root enhancer but if you don't, you should look into that. Secondly, I am not sure what light you use and how much above the plants you kept them but I have stunted stretch by having the light too close. It wasn't close enough to burn them but it was closer than normal and all 4 stayed shorter.
Lastly, I know you quadlined your plants pretty low to the soil. Maybe let them grow longer and be patient with the training. Try training a little less horizontal and maybe give them just a little angle. I also try to only do major things to them when they are aggressively growing because I know they are super healthy that way.
I'm going to take a stab and say maybe it has to do with the light. How high did you keep it and what kind of light do you have again?
I also did some training right before flipping and was wondering if I had skipped that step if they would have gone more vertical. If I had skipped it though the main 4 branches would have been significantly taller than the side branches. There can be a couple of factors in this. The first is the grow medium. There are some that are organic and some that aren’t. The schedule says you can use them up till harvest but I like the idea of maybe finishing them with water for a week or 2. That’s what I plan to do. When I think they are about 2 weeks away I’ll use a foxfarm product called sledgehammer and then just water from there. I’ll probably drop my RH down in that time frame too. I’ve read on here recently about altering the light cycle at the end to something like 11/14 to bring out Sativa attributes in the final product. May look more into that and see if anyone thinks it would be appropriate for my girls. The FF nutes you use @Mr. Magoo, are they organic? Do you plan on flushing at the end? I haven't used any nutes at all and have no idea what to expect. I was reading @SweetSue 's journal and she mentioned a product where was just starting to try called MegaCrop. All organic and I have a sample coming to me. I was just curious on what your thought process was going to be near the end of flower.
I’ve read through that thread now. Very informative. Funny because I was just telling MrSauga that I had planned on flushing for a while before harvest and that thread where you posted that was the very next page I viewed. Lol. I’ve changed my mind. Wasn’t really sold on the flush but was leaning that way until reading that. The basic idea of the link that Magoo posted is that the flowers don't uptake any nutrients from the soil, so all flushing does is starve the plant at at time when you are asking it to work the hardest. Nutrients are taken up and used by the rest of the plant to produce sugars that build the buds you want. No sensible reason to flush that I'm aware of...it all seems to be anecdotal. A good dry and a good cure is what stands between harsh and smooth tasty buds, not flushing.
My 2¢!

Good to see you in my neck of the woods Sue! Hope you are having a wonderful day!Interesting.... I’ve been wondering about the necessity of the flush for quite some time. ShiggityFlip recommended minimal additions to keep from starving the plant at the end.
I’ll have to peruse this link Shed provided. I’m open to change.
I gave up the idea of flushing when I read that link last year and later found out that Penny and Derby don't believe in it either. Sealed it for me!Interesting....
