Re: 1st Grow - Alaskan Thunderfuck x4 - Durban Poison - Blue Kush & Blueberry In Kind
Teas......interesting discovery thus far in my journey into the use teas. Normally my water out of my tap (as most of you who have been following my grows for a while) is in the 9.2-9.3 range. Not good from a pH perspective to say the least. So two days ago, we swung by the grow store and picked up an air pump, 2 air stones and a teabag. I mixed up a batch to start brewing that contained about 4 gallons of water, 1.5 Tablespoons of bat guano, 1.5 Tablespoons of sea bird guano, 1/4 cup of of Earth Worm Castings, and 2 tablespoons of Blackstrap Molasses and 1/8 teaspoon of dried kelp, and its been brewing for going on 40 hours. I just tested the pH of that tea and guess what.....sitting right at 7.0.
So its looking like I might be able to ditch using my earth juice crystals from here on out, at least in the flower phase. I need to play around with tea recipes for the veg phase, but I am very pleased with this first go around in terms of what it does to the water's pH. I wonder if I increase the amounts a little bit if I can get that pH down to about 6.5 (best pH for soil in my opinion). I know that adding a little bit of fish fertilizer will also drop the pH a little if I wanted to go that route.
