The soil contracting from the sides of the pot is exactly what you want. It really helps when you go to transplant, too.
In my experience, a pot will take about 25% of its volume in water. So a 1 gal pot will take about 1 quart.
If you water from the top only, a lot will run through but the soil will not be completely wet. Let them soak or water VERY slowly.

You can still transplant when they start to flower. Normally plants grown 12/12 from seed will start somewhere around 45 days I think? Ziggy would be the expert here. I have never done it.

my plants Seed2Weed 11.5/12.5, and especially 10.5/13.5 would show sex avr 25 days.
The number of harvests/yr can be increased when you cut out several weeks of a typical 8 week growth.
I would guess I get same or more yield on an annual basis.

That was the one with all the ACE strains right? That's pretty much what inspired me to try it this way, but I thought you were doing 11/13 just because they were mostly sativa! Too late to change it up?

I was thinking about tiering it up like that in the way you did it too, but I didn't really want to cut my pots up so just went with the old way.

Also, not really happy in the equipment departent today. I bought this Apollo inline fan like March 29th and it's already squeaking and rubbing on the inside of the cowling if I hold it sideways or move it. Stupid company won't refund it since it's already been 30 days past the purchase, plus I have to pay the shipping to send it in just to get an exchange! Well I wasn't about to let them go without proper ventilation, so I ordered a VenTech 440 and I am going to wait until I have that setup to send in the Apollo for exchange. I really don't want another one, but whatever I guess it can be backup if the VenTech goes out. This just means I'm going to have to put off getting a carbon filter even longer, and that REALLY isn't ideal because I am sucking up cat hair into the damn thing. I'm going to try to find some cut-to-length filter to put on the open end of my hood in the meantime so I don't just start sucking cat hair into the new one, but I think I might try to source that stuff in town versus online. Bah, I know to some most of this might not seem very expensive, but I'm on disability, I just wiped out like half of my income after rent/bills.

They're in there first 13th hour of darkness right now. The suspense is killing me, I want to open the tent and see if they're wilted already! I should be sleeping lol

So, they look all right... Ish... I am concerned about some spotting and leaves drooping. You know one thing I may not have mentioned about this soil, is that it supposedly has some kind of chemical in it that prevents wilting called "resilience" so I wonder if I might be waiting a little longer than I think I will before seeing some wilt. Anyway, the pots felt lighter for once, so I know Ilm on the right track.

Better news, I have two girls! You know, I always though males showed themselves before females? So maybe I don't have any males... That's not really a good or bad thing though since I did want to get some seeds. I guess there's the chance they will hermie but I don't really want haphazard seeding.

The two females so far are Blackberry Kush, they are in the middle row, furthest left and right in the middle. That little runt up front is one of the PGSC, but the one in the upper left hand corner is the other one and it's putting on some mass! Meanwhile the Frankenberry is up front by the fan, she's starting to look a little more normal, and looks like she has some sativa influence if I do say so myself.

Well here's day 29. So far only two of them are showing sex, but they're females so that's not bad! It's been 9 days since transplanting and watering, so I went ahead and watered even though I think only a couple of them really needed it. It just seemd like they needed some food. I gave them 1.5 mL/Gal of FloraNova plus some OG Tea. Oh I also got a new fan that oscilates and doesn't batter the one closest to it. One of the plants doesn't look so hot, leaves are really curling pretty badly. It looks like the leaves on it are a lot thinner than the rest of them even though it's a Blackberry Kush. I noticed one of the lower ones was deformed, maybe this one won't do so well...

That claw at the end of the leaves looks like plenty of 'N'. I'd be careful about feeding and watering for a while. Notice in your previous pictures how the leaves were perky and pointing up toward the light. Now they look more limp. That's the classic look of too much water. You want those top leaves to pray to the light and be electric.

My guess is they didn't need water so by doing it, the over-watered look became more obvious.

I don't think they have too much 'N', but it appears they have plenty. Too much 'N' can burn tips but not make/keep them light green. New growth is lighter but will darken quickly as it grows out a little.

It's worked pretty good on my neighbor's vegetable garden so I figured there shouldn't be harm in trying it, he gave me quite a lot and some molasses to mix it. Too bad I already gave them some FloraNova I could have called this 100% organic.

I am normally not a very tidy person by nature so that's great to hear!

I lucked out with these trays, but I am not sure what I will use when/if I up-pot to 3 gallon containers. Really don't want to start letting run off collect on the floor. The local store wants 4 bucks a tray for plastic ones and they're like the size of trash cans. Thinking about finding some large plastic/Styrofoam disposable plates.

You have a lot more to keep tidy than I do though!

They won't last forever, but those cheap, clear, plastic saucers should be available for $1-$2.

So I think I saw a pistil on the Frankenberry! Otherwise I have 4 Blackberry Kush females so far.

I am kind of concerned with the leaf tips hooking downward, kind of cupping in at the sides again too. I'm not just talking about the limp over-watered look but there's actually a dramatic hooking of the tips that's getting worse. I think maybe the microbial tea that I used is making the pH get too low, but I'm just basically guessing at this point.

I moved the light up a little bit, the bigger one on the side wasn't really getting much light and it still seems low enough for the rest. I'd kind of like the Frankenberry to stretch out a bit anyway.

Lol! Yeah I was just getting too worries about seeing them wilt I went the other way with it!

I am trying to just let them do their thing and not worry about stress, but since I think most of these seeds came from hermaphrodites I am trying to keep them stress free as possible so I don't get any unwanted male flowers.

I think I am going to dump the compost tea my neighbor mixed up for me. He said it would be good for a week in the fridge. Not only do I think that will be too soon to water, but I should probably stick to plain water due this huh?

I think I just didn't pay attention to the N content in the OG Tea. It's 2-0-2 and the Flora Nova is 8-4-7 so mixed together it was a N rating of 10? I didn't really measure the OG Tea in either since I do top dusting. I guess don't believe that stuff when it says it won't burn the plant.

Oh also got my new fan today. Hopefully the air flow isn't tooo high since this one doesn't have a controller.

It looks like heat stress maybe. It was good that you raised the light. What are the Temps? Do you have an exhaust? Do you have a lux meter to make sure the lights are at the right height? What about a fan in the tent to circulate the air?

Well that excitement was short lived. I opened the box to the "new" fan and it was clearly used, packed without a care in the world. Wow that ticks me off. It looks like it's in working condition but with who knows how many hours on it, so I am returning it and leaving the seller nasty feedback!

Canna Montana yeah I thought that at first too, but my temps had been perfect or so I thought. I had been keeping them between 70-79 and relative humidity at 30-40. Last couple of days have been hotter out and I turned up the AC in preparation and Donita been closer to 66-75 but that's only the last two days.

I have a small oscillating fan that seems to give pretty good air flow. It'd a pretty recent addition before I just had a box fan.
