Hey bro. In reference to distances and whatnot...the 600 W spectra is 36" above some seedlings I have going, and they are handling it just fine. I plan on having it about a foot or so away from the tops...so we shall see how that goes.

I am a long time follower of your threads and you motivate me to use LEDs. My partner and I teamed up for our first grow for our own medical use. We bought 5 of the 300wat LED china no name brand from a local shop. We placed them over a 4x8 ebb flood and drain with 48 green crack clones in 4x4 cubes. Are yield was exactly 1 pound and shit loads of popcorn. Like I said we were noobs and took advice from grows using 1000hps lights. Are lights have no penetration so on are current second grow into week 6 of flowering with Hindu Skunk we have 20 plants in 6x6 cubes we LST and lollipop them and they are looking great. We have 3 tops on every plant and good sized but nothing like your previous 600way grow even with our 5 lights. We are praying for at least 2 pounds then we plan on upgrade to 5 of growledhydro 300wat lights. Your threads motivate us to not give up on LEDs

the green crack is some killer buds! but if grown right that Hindu skunk is straight fire! you will be very happy. this strain is known for its dense buds so if you get fluff, i hate to say it but those lights are not worth it. i will put money on it ur problem is that those lights use 120 degree leds, penetration really suffers with those trust me. 90 degree seems to be right on the money.
i assume you grew those Green crack in a SOG style since u had 48 of them? if so and u still got fluff then that not good at all. now if they were all big plants then i could understand.

Dont give up on leds bro they can produce killer yields and buds if grown right and using the right led light. i was about to give up on leds also until my last grow threw a curve ball at me and changed my mind. 4m plants and over a pound is very good to me. i am hoping this grow kicks into gear because these girls right now have some great potential.

I think you will be very happy with the GLH ligts. you could always just get one 300w sooner and check it out to see how you like it before buying a ton of them at 1st. and then go from their.

their are allot of grows on here using these 300w lights, you should check them out for sure and see if you like what u see.

as a noobie your best bet is to ask allot of questions to good growers and study their grow threads theirs some many things u can learn by doing that, no book can top that. but learning with ur own hands is the key.

as far as i know they drawl 360w total. but one grower is reading i think around 380w with his i believe? mine is around 360w each

Thanks for the info... It was not a SOG grow infact I didnt know what that was until a month ago lol... We just placed 48 in and let them go nuts on there own they were all health and strong for the first month then at flowering only the plants directly under the light made any bud they crowded out the others to far from the light... even though are lights are shitty everyone said they never smelled or seen Green Crack as good as what we grew. Do you think are 300wat lights actually draw 300wats since there a cheap brand? Also do you have and Idea how many of the HGL 360wat lights can I plug into one room?

ya if things are too tight with the plants they will shade the others out. often times you can get more yield growing less plants then more that are shading each other.

most time with 1w leds u usauly drawl less watts the claimed. 1w led do run to the full 1w. in fact all the leds i have seen dont drawl what their name is. i was told it would lesson the life span.

i have no idea on how many you could plug in one room? i know i have 3 on 1 plug and its fine. but i dont know how ur place/room would be with that many this is not my strong point, but i am sure someone will jump in and help you.

and ive notice/heard the same thing my led buds has always been better then my hps buds but i never did a side by side so cam claim that, but their are a few going on right now so i will soon know if i am right about that.

maybe those light arnt that shitty? try a few plants under one light.

if you goal is too grow mass crops/yield you might want to look into HPS since the foot print is bigger. IMO if you want straight potent buds go with leds. dont get me wrong HID grows killer bud to but i have always had better bud with my led grows.

i think a combo of led and HPS would be the shit. keep a close eye on these side x side going on they will help us find out whats better?

for now i am sticking with the leds they treated me right on my last grow. if your trying to grow 48 plants allot of the time maybe the 180w would be better that way you could get more lights for the same price. more lights= more foot print. ive never used the 180w so i dont know how they flower but the owner of GLH grow a very nice plant under one.

here's some close up pics of the girls flowering. slowly but surly! still no site on mites.

by looking at the plants and their bud sites where the hairs are shooting out if they fill in i will have allot of huge colas, nodes are pretty tight and bud sites are staked. so lets hope this wait will pay off.

^^^Thats my reason why I want to get two 180W LED's because I know i can get a larger foot print for the canopy. Want to use two in a 3'11X3'11 tent. I think vegging with LED's and flowering with HPS and maybe some LED's would grow some killer dank buds. I invision to just VEG with led's and flower HPS and CFL but either for flower i think would be great. Where is that thread with the 180w LED grow? I just want to veg with them not really worried about flower with them but would be nice to give it a read. I am also digging the perlite/hempy grows much more simpler than DWC. Simple weed smoke does it get any better?

ya i would veg with leds for sure. if your going to use HID i would mix it with led for sure, these leds seem to produce some potent buds IMO. one 600w or 1000w hps in the middle and a led on each side would be idea IMO.

do a search and u will see all the 180w led grows. Hempy is as easy as it gets IMO, cheap to make also plus u cant over water.

so ive been checking every day and every mite i see is dead! But just to ensure things i bought 2 more NPS for a total of 4 in a simi small room. i am not playing around i want to make sure i get every signal one fast. i plan on every month to replace them with new ones, i know they say they last for 4 months but i cant take any chances and lose my crop. at the end its cheaper to buy the NPS then to lose my girls over some bugs. 4 of those bad boys should take care of things for sure.lol

once i harvest i am gonna shut down things for a little bit and clean the room real good and walls ect..

but as of now things are looking good on the subject..

ya their just lagging big time in flowering i think because of the heat? sad to say but their 6 weeks into flowering.

they were 100% tip top shape then i ran into mites and they messed them up a little; but over all their still healthy as hell. but ya the plants just reach for this light like nothing i have seen before. some others using this light are having the same thing happen

Yeah that skunk will get ya. but it will produce one hell of a smell when all is said and done. and the colas are always (((HUGE))) on skunk dom plants. Even if they are 6 weeks out the final product will smell unlike anything you've smelled before.
