1080w LED Inferno

Sounds like an experiment is brewing here..:hmmmm:

It'd make a good one. Only... What if the actual correct answer is neither extreme pruning nor pure training - but somewhere in the middle? And that it is one of those strain-dependent things?

Anyone got a small interior football field and the lights to cover it available for this experiment, lol?

Yeah that is exactly what you want to do as you lst. Leave the tops and maybe 1 or 2 below that. Trim Trim trim those lowers to help push that energy upward. You will end up with denser tops that way. I started toping plants, then with the multi-colas going Lolli-pop each and every one therefore increasing the overall yield.

but if i did this to my LST plants i wouldn't lollipop them right? still leave the nubs instead of removing everything right??

its all about triming and timing to be honest. The more plant numbers using the single cola method provides you with a shorter veg period. Whereas the traditional way you would veg more cutting down the plant numbers. In my experience, colas with shorter veg equals more yeild in the long run. but thats just me. :)

Well Kinda... instead of branching out then triggering flowering, you would train the branches out & up. Then extend the veg period a little bit further along and trim the branching into colas that have been lolli-popped.

oh so you would do both? lollipop the bottom that wont get light, then the mid part cut at the 1st node and leave the top 2-3 branches?

i usaly just LST them one time (bend them over) then i lollipop them on the bottom.

This is the idea: if you want to lst then lolli-pop. Your going to trim up the side branches the way you would do as if they were single cola'd plants.

right on brother! thanks i just grew a few more brain cells today. :grinjoint:

I will be in touch with you a week before i flower to make sure i am going to do everything right. ill post pics before i prune them so we can see if i have the right idea and so others can learn also.
:thanks: when i can rep you i will.

anyone know what up with this new credit thing below our name? its like some bank credit thingy

by the way this is how it should look at the end?

Very interesting information on trimming Butcher. I have been wanting to experiment with that, while using my 14 site aero/NFT system. I think the single cola plants would be advantageous. I'll be following along to learn more!
