the carbs is good to feed, but the key is silica! its a must have in these temps.

Hey guys i wanted to touch a different topic today. I wanted to get everyones feed back on 24-36hrs of darkness before flowering. whats you thoughts on this? If you have done/tried this please share your feed back for others to read/lean. I think this topic will make a great talk. Everyone please chime in on this even if your opinion is different then others, debates are good as long as we keep it friendly..

24 hours of uninterrupted darkness will send the signal to trigger flowering. Giving you a growth spurt over night that will amaze you. Pitviper and I have talked allot about this process, and have shared results of a study I did just recently. The dark period will actually refocus the stretching energy to the rest of the plant resulting in thicker stalks and less vertical growth. Its well worth it.

I've done the experiment myself. This last round of LA Women I just finished proved the conclusion I stated before. Yes, the dark period will cause the plant to flower about a week faster and will cut the stretch as well. In my study the stretch on the plant giving a dark period was 1/3 of what it was on the 3 plants that were triggered naturally. The stalk on the shorter plant was significantly thicker as well. I got to clearify that the finishing time wasn't shorter, it was the diplay of pistols proving that flowering was triggered faster.

imo it all boils down to how patient you are!...most folk want bud quicker rather than later so its an easy decision to make lol do it!!!!

i think an extended dark period lets the roots grow like mad, maybe even doubling the root mass compared to normal and this is one of the reasons it works so well.

Sorry that was funny as hell. It painted some very vivid pictures in my mind. The info that's already been posted is amazing. I've followed Butcher's advice many times with great success. I really saw a difference with giving them 36 hours of darkness before flowering. it only makes sense if you think about it. Plants really grow in the dark periods, so the extra hours really makes a difference. IMHO.
You don't need to shower more than once a week anyway!

very interesting about the roots. never thought about that. this topic will be talked on latter and ill show you a trick that i learnd that will make your smoke so much better IMO. i always have the cleanest smoke around where i live. ill get back to this latter on.

thanks for sharing your info on the dark period. So you chose 36hr? this is another question that comes to mind, witch amount of dark hours is best? 24,36,48?

yup i broke down after stinking and took a shower, was kinda scared getting out but all way good no burnt down house. just Imagen your taking a shower all is good, you get out and open the door and your whole house is filled with smoke. you say WTF!!!! and panic not knowing whats going on then you see smoke pouring out of your grow room. then you need to act fast and see what caused it smoke cleans a little and a flame is shooting out and melting the nob's on the water heater creating smoke. not a cool site.

Lolz damn well at least your safe and so are your plants. That is something I fear as well is a fire bursting out shit be happy you was home cuz yea just imagine. One thing to buy for the Grow room-Fire extinguisher bet not many people have that on their shopping list.

I defiantly think 24hrs + of complete darkness at a minimum before 12/12 puts the girls into a faster bloom.. Works for me every time.

I like the Darkness theory. All my grows have been outdoors so I never had that option, but it only makes sense. I'm also a firm believer that every grow room/box/tent should have a very loud smoke detector. Glad your OK the last thing you need is for your local papers headline to read:"Pot grower burns down neighborhood!" Again, very glad your OK brah!

That is very true. i use to have one when i had my old MH with the ballast attached to the top. very very old school MH. i was always scared to leave town with that thing.

thanks for sharing that. ive always thought 35hrs also but have heard of some using 24hrs and saying it worked. maybe this could be based off of different strains? because their seems to be a big debate on this topic lots say its a myth. so maybe its all on the strain?

what a trip another one. man i read up on this many times and all the other places say its BS and some kind of myth. ive tried it before but never had a side by side to compare it to. it was a long time ago and like one of my 1st grows i believe, after that ive never done it again, since i heard it was BS. I think I might try this on the Inferno Grow.

Now my question to all of you that have done this is , did the plant stretch less? did it finish faster?
