1000 Watt Water Cooled Grow

Search "icmag sticky pdf". It should be the first search result. There are a bunch of pdfs in the first post, including the bonsai thread, and some more a ways down.

That is one heck of an idea! Thanks. I didn't have any luck trying so far. Did you have any luck getting the pdf's?

Ok so I think I'm on my way to one pdf. Then I tried to get another pdf and tells me I am out of free uses, hahahaha, then I see it says try again in 15 minutes. This could take a minute, but once it's done, no more of that useless download site. kinda frustrating but just too funny at the same time. Just reminds me of the internet from the 90's.

It makes it nice to have all those write-up on your comp...Yeah rapidshare is a bitch. It would be nice if all the different write-ups were in one file.

I've been wondering if I should get a micro nutrient additive to use with the fox farm. Is this recommended, and if so what is a good one? I am particularly concerned with Molybdenum...none of my nutes have of it.

I am also wanting to set up a green cfl so I can work in the tent with the light on. Not sure if there are any specific requirements, but am wondering if THIS bulb will work? It it just green glass, nothing special.

thanks

I have no idea on the FF nutes, they should be just fine though. I run AN. Referencing a grow book it says "moly" is seldom deficient. It could help to add a micro nute every once in a while. GH and AN make a micro nute.

That green cfl should work. I have no experience with one, but I see the hydro shops selling green led's to work in the dark.

Seems like that light should be peachy. I use two 20w incandesant green party bulbs on either side of the room for hours at a time and no effects that I've seen after two grows with them.

Thanks for the tips!

My plants are now exactly at 2 weeks old. They all have 4 nodes - very fast growth - except for the SLH which is forming its 3rd. I am waiting to feed their first nutes until my new pH tester arrives, the HANNA HI 98129; hopefully it will be here tomorrow. I will update with pics when I feed them.

Its a pretty nice pH tester, cost about $150. Also tests temp and EC/TDS with automatic temperature compensation and floats in water. Should be reliable and last me awhile.

Yeah I got the 4.01 and the 7.01 cal solutions. Also ordered the cleaning solution and the storage solution...don't wanna take any chances.

I also have the same tester - never needed to calibrate it (yet) I think it works pretty good - I just use it for ppm anyways thought because GH is so good about pH buffering their nutrients. However am about to change lines and the new line supposedly has powerful acids that often require some pH up.

I have that same tester. I think it's great! I'd rec getting 7.0 solution and 4.0. It sets fine on 7.0. I have found it tends to stray after sitting for a while. Just reset and it works awesome.

Well I'm glad it is a good tester. The last one I got was a piece of junk. I wasn't planning on using it for ppm, but it is good to know that ppm calibration isn't really needed...I didn't order any tds cal solution. Does it come with any?

I checked the tracking and it says it is out for delivery. I will post an update later today after feeding.

No the meter doesn't some with anything but batteries if I remember right. There wasn't any solutions in my box. I'm not sure about the tds calibration. I know the meter is darn accurate as I've done other water test on my water, and the meter has the same readings.

Update!!!

The pH tester came in. I calibrated and fed with 1/4 strength FF nutes per 2 week recommended dosage at pH 6.9. I think I started at pH 5.5...I was really surprised at how much pH -up I needed, I mean it was ALOT - drop wise anyway. Also gave them Molasses, Subculture M, Subculture B and cal-mag plus.

I was mistaken when I wrote they had 4 nodes...they are growing their 4th and SLH is growing its 3rd. All plants are in 1 gallon microKote pots.

This is L*D. This thing is a beast. It was the last to sprout and is the largest plant.

This is Milky Way from Kiwi Seeds. It is a little smaller than the L*D but is the furthest along in its growth.

Here is the lagging Super Lemon Haze - just starting its 3rd node. Sorry it is washed out, accidentally deleted the other pic.

And here is Mako Haze from Kiwi Seeds. It looks small, but has really tight inter-nodal length with small leaves. Its about as far along in its growth as the Milky Way.

Group Shot! You can really see how big the L*D is. Again, these are 1 gallon pots.

And here a pic I took and am just fond of - not really on topic, but I think it has a good mantra for growers and I think it's kinda funny...lol.

Sorry all the pictures are blurry, I took me forever to set up the tester, mix the nutes and water and I was getting tired so I just snapped some quick pics. Will try to get decent ones next go around.

Finally, I am wondering when I should up-can the plants. I want to take full advantage of the microKote pots, letting the root ball get as big as possible before I up-can. With the MicroKote pots, you can leave them in longer than regular pots. So, when do plants in 1 gallons typically become root bound? I wont be able to tell in these pots because they wont become root bound unless things get really out of control, the roots actually wont even grow against the pot edges.

I am also going to top above the 2nd node once the 5th node grows in, giving me 4 main colas on each plant.

Thought I would also include this pic. I realized today that my images are coming out blurry because of the resizer I'm using. Its just a free one from the internet, can anyone suggest a decent one?
