Fopho's 2nd Grow - Ace of Spades - Da Purps & Platinum Blue Dream

By looks of things the AoS will be done in 8 weeks, were my PBD and Da Purps is going to be more like 9-10 weeks

Not to much to report. Everything seems to be going ok. Minus I found one nanner down really low on one of the AoS. I told them no sex in the champagne room, but they never listen to me anyways. After an extensive investigation into my garden, no other nanners, or nothing was seeded except the bud next to the nanner. Definitely dodged a bullet.

do you use different timers(devices) for hps and led, or all in the same?

Im out in my room every night before lights out, and I manually turn my LED off. My HPS is on its own timer though. Its not a big deal Im always checking on them during lights on, so I Dont miss much. Im just lucky I have the time to do so

Today is watering day, and I should be able to take some more photos while I have them out. Hopefully I remember this time lol

Also I haveva question. I've been doing some research on the overlapping of LED lights with HPS. By overlapping i mean letting the footprint from the LED & HPS overlap one another. Anyways I've been doing a lot of research/reading, and from what I've found is by overlapping the 2 lights footprints it negated the bleaching aspect of the LED light. Even when the LED should of bleached the plants from being so close.

Guess my question is, has anyone else experienced this? Or does anyone know if there's any scientific proof to back this up, or is this just a fluke?

A little bud porn that I found on my phone. First one is one of my AoS, & the 2nd is of my buddies PBD. Where I got mine.

it doesn't make sense that adding more light would stop a problem that is caused by too intense light... but I have also heard of stranger things. Please let us know what you find out.

The only thing I can think of would be if 2 different spectrum's some how cancel one another out. Or if the spectrums some how create some kind of safe zone where the lights cross lol.(sounds like science fiction haha) Don't cross the streams. But im not a genius, so beats the hell outta me. Ya'lls guess is as good as mine.

And on a totally unrelated note according to ghostbusters 2 the end of the world will be on Valatines day 2016..

First photo is of AoS, its the buds thats below the canopy. Just wanted to give you guys an idea of what the popcorn buds could look like, and all I had to do was clip a few tips off of my fan leaves. 2nd photo is also of AoS, the top half of one.

Just an FYI about getting the yellow tinge out of your photos. On most devices these days you can edit your photos via the software thats already provided. Anyways after snapping the photo, click on the tiny pencil(on most phones/tablets) to edit the photo. Then click on tune image, and drop the warmth to -49 or -50. The photos will look like above. With the yellow tint gone. These directions was for a LG tablet, but im sure other devices have similar options. Hope this helps

Tiny update: Daytime temperature has been 73-75 with 45% RH, nighttime temperature has been anywhere from 63-66 with 50% RH(sometimes higher) its where I live the RH always goes up at night.

Been working on an experiment with cuttings. I was testing to see just how long it takes for roots to sprout on cuttings that have just been placed in a cup of water on the window seal, and nothing more. Took 4 weeks to the day to sprout tiny little roots. The water was changed on a daily basis and that was it. No rooting hormones or anything else used. Was just curious because someone said it can be done in 10 days with this very method. I didn't think it could be. Ill upload some pics here in a bit. Its more for my next project. 2 plants both in 10gal. Fabric pots of there own

Update 9 February 2016: First day of week 7, fed them big bloom, tiger bloom,& cha-ching. AoS will start the 2 week flush after this feeding, & the PBD & Da Purps wont start there flush till week 8 or so. Anyways here's some photos of the middle portions of DA Purps & PBD.

Not to much to report on here in Fopho's Wonderland. All the ladies are healthy and in greart spirits. Ever since I plucked out that little bunch of nanners with sterile tweezers I haven't seen a one. I think they popped up since its toward the end of there life span. Then again TGA strains are infamous for doing this. Only 1 of the Ace of Spades did this though.

Stay alert, Stay alive. If you get complacent its over.

Also I haveva question. I've been doing some research on the overlapping of LED lights with HPS. By overlapping i mean letting the footprint from the LED & HPS overlap one another. I have my HPS and LEDs overlapping and still saw some LED bleaching on the top of some buds.

And yes on the TGA strains, 2/3 agent orange strains threw nanners at the end of flower.

Update for 11 February 2016,

Day temps: 73-75
Daytime RH: 40%
Night temps: 63-66
Nighttime RH: 45-50%
pH: 6.4-6.6

Not to much to report, everything is going well. After lights on this morning ill get more photos of the buds beneath the canopy. This ill be using my thumb in the photo(or something similar). I was checking them out last night right before lights out, and they're literally as big and as long as my thumb. Guess im just surprised since normally these buds are only good for one thing. To be thrown in with all the rest of your sugar trim.

If I learned anything from this experience at all. Its that you should never remove the entire fan leaf unless absolutely necessary. From this grow on i will only remove just enough of the finger tips of any fan leaf that might be blocking a lower bud, or any bud for that matter. At least til its viable to tuck the fan leaves tips under one another to get this same effect. Hope this little bit of nonsense helps out.

Here's the 2 cuttings I put in the window seal to root. Also wanted to show you guys the heat mat thermostat & heat mat combo that came together for 25$. Thought it was pretty neat. Im using that and this cheap tray that cost like 3$ if that.

The cuttings had little roots on them before sticking them in this contraption. Also gave them some tappin roots(root development) also went ahead and put a little rooting gel before sticking them in dirt. Figured it may speed things up. Ill take better pics once I take the dome off. They have already started to revert back to veg. Forgot to mention i monster cropped these.(monster cropping is when you take a clone/cutting at least 2 weeks into flower).

They were thirsty today, so I gave them 4tsp of tapping roots.(no nitrogen, but 2% calcium), 2tsp Athenea's Aminias(0.5 nitrogen), & 1/4tsp epsom salt(for magnesium). All measurements are per gallon of water. I always put the epsom salt in every 4-6 weeks.
