Mine have been starting after week 1 from what I have seen.

each time you put few guys between lot's of girls it's a mess,
 
i actually got a plant from my buddy i brought back and spent tons of time on, then i started seeing balls all through it, i think because id switch it from indoor then put it in the sun ..i ended up pulling it not wanting to bring any pollen indoor to my girl, but thought about making bubble hash or cannabutter ...what you end up doing with it.
 
I still have the two Big Buds going good under ZNET4 so its still going to be a good test. I do have extra good size plants that are ready. Now just got to decide if they squeeze in now of I just might wait to get the Trains out of the way. My good friend with his flo is pulling the sacks off and still growing his. I do not want to risk that with my size flower room. I will just rock the Big B for now. The flower spacing is freaking awesome on them. They should fill all the way in and have huge nugs.
 
I've done the same as your mate & succeeded but I was in my little 2 plant room, I was pulling ball sacks off twice a day at an alarming rate. The plant stopped producing them in the final weeks & my harvest never suffered but I don't blame you for scrapping them, you've got way too much to lose.
