Xlr8, I really like my Celestron scope. Easy to use and wasn't really that expensive either. IMO it takes some quality photos as well.

That's the one I've been leaning towards... But, the even lower $$ ones that get branded with many different names seem to get some praise too.
Anyone have the Celestron and have feedback on it? I'd love to hear it! Going to ask for a digi-usb-scope for X-mas, perhaps. I'd also love feedback on the other low $$ usb scopes out there like the one Norcaliwood is referring too. Thanks in advance!
After searching all over town, I got some mosquito dunks and some sticky papers.
Now I have a tied off sock with a dunk in each of my 4- 5 gallon watering buckets. Also keep air stones in 2 and rotate to keep things algae free..
When I pulled the big girls out last night to do a flush, I noticed lots of fungus gnats in the soil.. SHIT! although it's kinda too late now, Now I know why I had a slowdown in bud production for a few weeks. Those bastards were chowing down on my roots!!
But now that I know this, next one is gunna be knat free..
Thanks to you X!
I'd rep ya, but I gotta hit up some other first.
DAMMIT!! That's the SECOND TIME you've gotten me with that. . . . or was that sisco? Anyway, I did the same thing almost a year ago that I just did. . . started to smoosh that thing under my thumb...

X, i hate you and your pictures dammit!! lol
I can't take any pictures close to that.
On another note. NICE lookin buds!
Just to let you know... All my trich shots are taken with a handheld Celestron microscope (I use the stand with un steady hands). And you've seen the pics in my thread with it. Celestron 44302 Deluxe Handheld Digital Microscope 2MP
But I See you're getting damn near microscopic clarity with your MACRO FUNCTION on your camera!
Nice lookin harvest ya got there. Well done, buddy, ole pal!
Yeah, the DSLR I've been slobbering over for years now is a Nikon-oh-my-gawd, I-can-control-everything, DSLR. And you know the Nikon lenses 'Nikkor': very good optics. Their VR/IS is something that could improve, but it's adequate for clarity on most shots. I really love the zooooooommmm gotten with their 28-300mm lens, too, but still can't find the 28x zoom of my newest camera, given from the heart be a dear friend.... It's a Nikon, too, and the optical zoom on this little point-n-shoot is awesome! No longer do I have to be 2" from the subject to get a good macro shot... 4-6 feet is optimal for this one. I can set up the tripod and get a good steady shot, of just what I want. Thanks A1.
I am fortunate to have a pretty nice DSLR camera. Unfortunately, I have it because a photographer friend couldn't pay me for some work I did for him (I could have used the cash!). It does take nice pics, though, and I love photography. In some ways, I'm glad it worked out how it did, because I love the camera and I wouldn't have probably splurged for something like that otherwise.
Get it then. For the money, it's a little with which handheld that you can't go wrong. Just make sure your editing software is used or sometimes the pics are washed out under HID lighting. But, then again, what pics DON'T need editing for a journal, huh? That's the one I'm looking at seriously. Good feedback - your trich pics look great.
I don't use the macro function on my camera even. Just zoom the lens, freehand and manual. But the lens is high-end and image stabilized so it allows me to crop somewhat and still get a good image.
Thanks Wiz -- Do you know the name of it and where to get it? What brand? Wouldn't mind knowing a little more about it.
Chop chop snip snip... 9 weeks bloom (63 days)
The OG Ripper and Deadhead Ripper plants came down. Both were mostly milky trichomes with a little bit of ambering here and there. Pretty much right where I wanted them. Jack the Ripper in coco coir will stay up for a bit longer.
Managed to take a few pics - thought I'd share...
OG Ripper (the darker shades are deep dark burgundy/purple, but the color didn't show correctly once uploaded for some reason. The branch underneath was a spot that was super-cropped at about day 20 of bloom - toward the end of stretch.
OG Ripper
Deadhead Ripper branch - Even the lowest buds are decently plump, firm and resinous thanks to keeping up with the defoliating pretty well this round. Because it was so bushed out, there weren't huge colas. But... there were several (a bunch) of branches like this. This one was probably 3 feet tall, maybe a bit more, and fanned way out somewhat horizontally.
