re: Xlr8's Psychedelic Bloom Party Extravaganza
Whew!
This weekend was a busy one. I've been feeling really rough and had gotten really behind in dealing with the plants. Still feeling rough, but now I'm a little more caught up.
I did a 1/4 strength nutrient flush with the Flo N Grow, just to make sure there weren't salts built up in the media. One thing about the Flo N Grow, is there's a lot of media in each bucket. So, I like to periodically flush the hydroton with a weaker nutrient solution. The weaker solution is actually a more effective way to flush than plain water, and it's less shocking to the plants. Normally, I pour it through the pots, "top down" and let it get pumped back to the reservoir, just before a change. This time, I let it run a day with a weaker solution in the system itself, then bumped the nutrients back up the next day. The plants look the happpiest I've seen them I think. Really perky.
Also, this is definitely the best I've done with canopy height management. There's very little difference in height across the board, with the exception of the Pre-98 Bubba. Though, Bubba is holding her own thanks to her stocky branches and burley stems.
The Humboldt and the PE are starting to get a little more mass to the buds, (as they should based on genetics). The Vortex and Jillybean are still primarily sativa, so are a little slower out of the gate. I just love a good challenge, so I mix my sativas and indicas too much, haha, but so far so good.
I'm getting decent light penetration, despite the crowding, thanks to being more diligent the last few days with plucking. Honestly, things are 100% to plan at the moment, though I'm a bit scared to jinx myself...
