Hey Jon - I just posted a reply in that thread. I don't think you were way off at all - I think it's overwatering symptoms caused by poor drainage, personally. Your post in his thread was spot on to me.

sucks your not feeling well x it seems most of us here have "days" i have had a few lately ,so for a 50/50 strain i just finished up a purple power from dutch passion im really impressed with it i can smoke it all day and function and it does help with pain, has a heavenly smell/taste and even tho it was a small plant in my scrog it produced several oz of super dense nugs on the bigger side it did all that in 7 weeks flower! im defo keeping her around a while

I'll keep that one in mind, definitely. I do have one 50/50'ish keeper plant I forgot about in my post: my Deadhead Ripper. I almost forgot about her, DOH! But, I do want another or two, and a good indica dom - which I'm hoping might be the Pre-98 Bubba perhaps. Lucy and Exodus Cheese are a couple of others I might try if the Bubba don't do it.

I have grown some seeds from Dutch Passion before - my favorite was "Skywalker" (not to be confused by "Skywalker OG"). DP's Skywalker is "blueberry" flavored and tastes more "blueberry" to me than their "blueberry" (at least the phenos I got). I loved it, and will grow it again for sure as I have a few more seeds stashed.

Going to have to check out that "Purple Passion, BID - thanks again!

Not at all Jon, I enjoy helping out if I can. Second opinions are good, and heck we're all just taking our best stab at it.

Everything I've learned about growing (nearly) has come from this site. So, giving back a little is an important part of my goal in spending time here. I'm a believer in giving back what you get, (and then some if you can)...

We're at about 21 days bloom, now. I did some more aggressive plucking today to free up some light for the center of the plants/canopy (I'm doing it a little as a time, as I can't bend for very long, lol). I also removed some smaller, lower, underdeveloped growth in general. Stuff that wouldn't make it to the main canopy. Made a pretty dramatic difference, but it's still damned packed!

I've been doing a little bending/super-cropping too, to keep the canopy level. Dang if I can't hardly keep them down. Seems like the ones I don't break, are standing themselves back up straight a day later with nothing more than a bruise to show for it. I've been working on my pinch and twist and crushing the inner cell walls, but still they just want to pop right back up. Seems like if I get any more aggressive, they end up with small splits. Something I need to keep working on I guess, but some of these I've had bent over sideways and down - just to have it straighten up in a day. I didn't have this issue last round, but then I was a little rougher last time, and would get splits on the branch. Even the ones with splits are coming back fast right now. Crazy. I guess they have good vigor, at least!

Hi Xlr8, That deadhead Ripper is your own creation . Right ? I would be interested in a Ripper Report !! That good Ole' guy Beemer Bill made a long list of Meds with high CBN's on pg. 65 of the OMMs journal. I'll be buying some seeds soon, decisions, decisions, decisions Someone in here mentioned the AMS ,sounds good, I've had good luck with greenhouse seeds and they are a little cheaper it seems. Maybe, Moby Dick or maybe Hilalayan gold, or maybe .........or maybe ........or maybe ......on and on

im having the exact same problem with my hgk X,even if i split them bad the next day they are well on they're way to standing at attention again.guess I gotta work on my tecnique as well lol...but im thinking maybe supercrop and then temporarily tie or weight it down until the wound is almost healed,then they wont stand up again....I think

ps: forgot to mention ive used a paper clip and a nut or screw kinda like a x-mas ornament to keep them bent over until they heal.I like this method better than tying because its alot quicker and theres no strings in the way of anything.

I really love the Pineapple Express so far: She's a voluptuous woman, in a tent full of young ladies. I hope she's as good as she's starting to look. It looks like she'll have some color, too. There's a nice pink hue hidden in the green of the leaves (which are massive!). Her branches are little tree trunks and her main stem has some badonka donk going on. Really nice stature and growth structure to her. I hate that she's so hidden in the jungle. She might be fun to do a single plant big ol' bush grow with...

The Pre-98 Bubba... No lateral branching! After the UBT, she's 4 branches with buds along the stem. Wicked crazy cool weird. She also has massive fan leaves, and is built like a short tank. Very unique structure, but I've heard this before also about pre-98 bubba.

Vortex, Jilly Bean, and Humboldt are all similar in structure, like sativa hybrids. Viney with thin stems and lots of lateral branching.

Vortex is smelling like lemons and a lot like the "Jack the Ripper" I grew. Very nice smell! I was expecting something different, however. But, there are some shared genetics there. Frankly, it grows a lot like Jack the Ripper, too. But, same breeder and a lot of similar ancestry.

Good idea! I seem to be torn by a fear that they keep standing up again, and a fear that they won't (or worse), lol. Aggressive bending (super cropping) is something that I still have to swallow a lump in my throat over, even having done it a number of times now without issues. The branches I did this to in my last grow, even during bloom, had the biggest colas and buds on the branches. Unquestionably.

Still, it never fails to make me palpitate a little.

yep,any time a plant gets damaged it sends hormones to that branch to repair it and 9 times out of 10 those damaged branches will have the biggest nugs on the plant,who says we cant improve on mother nature

Hi Clayhead - yes, in the sense that I crossed two plants to get the seeds. The father was a "Jack the Ripper" from TGA Subcool, and the mother a "Deadhead OG" from Cali Connection. Both strains resin monsters. There is a smoke/vape review in my last journal, I'm sure, and if I get time later I'll see if I can find it. Otherwise, I'm sure it's toward the end of the last journal (in my sig).

I think you mean high CBD (CBN is degraded THC/CBD, and makes you sleepy). I'm interested in high CBD strains too, and the Pre-98 Bubba is a thought to address that. I've seen some very high CBD reports on the Pre-98 Bubba, though it's not a CBD strain per se'. I'd like to try something like "Harlequin" too, which is a very high CBD strain.

Some of my favorite strains so far: "Lucy", Chocolope, Super Lemon Haze, OG Kush, Snow White, Big Bang, Jilly Bean... and of course, the "Deadhead Ripper" of mine. That "Skywalker" from Dutch Passion I mentioned to BID was quite good, too.

Yes the Deadhead Ripper is really great. My only quibble with it is that I was already stocked up on Deadhead OG, and this is very similar, though a bit better in flavor, to the Deadhead OG. So, I just have a lot of very similar (but very good) tasting bud now between the two (I know you feel REAL sorry for me, haha).

As far as the "high" portion goes of the experience, good ole' OG Kush is still about the best I've ever had.

The OG Ripper I grew (OG Kush x Jack the Ripper), has that OG Kush feeling too - in spades. It's actually a wonderful OG high with a little of the JTR creeper.

Problem is, in the vape it tastes absolutely terrible. Smells amazing, tastes... terrible. I didn't even know that was possible. I open a jar and my wife says, WOW, what strain is that? It smells that good. Funnily, it tastes fine in a bong. But, in a vaporizer.... I've described it before like a "peach" flavor, but that does injustice to peaches, lol. I think the problem was this - my particular OG Kush had a bit of a spearmint taste, for lack of a better descriptor. Jack the Ripper (JTR) is a lemony/mango/fruity plant, but more like lemon pinesol (vs. lemonheads candy, like Super Lemon Haze).

Maybe I should have looked at it like this: Spearmint x Lemon Pinesol = blahhhh. The result is best described as really gross spearmint peaches. Yuck.

But, we still have a bong we use from time to time, and some killer weed dedicated to it. Why it tastes fine in a bong is beyond me, but thankfully it's still useful somehow.

Just my luck though, this is the best medicine I've grown from the standpoint of how it makes you feel, but the flavor makes it something akin to a cannabis version of "castor oil". Sigh.

Nooo, I'm here my friend , I'm checking 2-4 pages everyday at yours and 2 other journals I'm following, no time to post very often though !!
As for the grow room , I'm still saving money for two more panels bro, I'm gonna reach 1200 watts in total !!!! That will be interesting , I think !!
I also have to pay the damned taxes , which is serious ammount of money, too
The good thing is, this is going to be my LAST expensive order, the rest stuff can be found locally (blueguardian meter, RO unit , 1x 5x5 tent, t5 fixture ). These won't get me long time ...
I allready have everything else ...

I can't see the time to start, this is the challenge of my life ... lol
I ll let you know of course (and the rest of guys), about my first journal !!

I really-really like jon's idea , of setting up 2 systems (actually Jon said 3) one for flower-one for veg, then you just swap the inner pots , man !!! Very cool idea and professional setup !! This way you split a 4x4 tent in two halfs !! Down vegging area and upstairs for mothers and cuttings !!!!
Of course is very expensive for me, at least for now ..... lol

But daaamn, great idea !!! Whats your opinion xlr8 ?

Also both tents 4x4 and 5x5 exchange air between each other (via a scrubber and ducting) , in a sealed environment (CEA), as tony suggested !!
