Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures & Photos From The Garden - 2012

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

:goodjob: I like a busy grow room...keeps you on your toes :thumb: All looking nice and green :welldone:

:thankyou: IGrowGrass!

Yeah, it's busy alright! Especially for the way I've been feeling. Feels like a full time job lately - and I'm only growing for myself! Should get a little less hectic soon, once I'm done with my cloning/germing and just dealing with mothers on a common feed schedule/mix, and the flowering plants in the tent. Appreciate you dropping by!

They all look very healthy and happy. :welldone: Good luck with your little pollen spreading adventure.

Thank you HMG! They really are looking healthy and happy, and I think I've nipped the bug thing early as I've seen no further signs. I'm super stoked about the rest of the grow with the girls in flower, and really curious as to whether I can do the pollen thing without pollinating everything, lol. :)

Great tips and pics. Keep up the good work!
Thanks TJ! :high-five:

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

Thanks brother. The Jack the Ripper male is in a separate room, different part of the house, with no common ducting/air supply. So there shouldn't be a big risk of contamination as long as I'm careful, but even if everything gets seeded I'm not going to stress. No, all of Subcool's stuff is regular seeds. I have a Jack the Ripper female in flower, too. Thought I'd try to pollinate a branch for a few "free" seeds (or a bunch!) this round, for fun. Thanks for dropping by! :high-five:

i was following another thread and a guy pollinated an 8 inch tall female with a bud that was probably only 6g wet and he got 250 seeds out of it !!

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

Dang X!!

Those are some sexy plants!!:circle-of-love::welldone::cheertwo::Namaste:

Time is a flying hey?? things are looking awesome friend, keep up the flawless work:bravo:

+reps for just being an awesome guy....and I guess rocking the grow room too;)

:thanks: Missbud!

Been thinking of you much lately my dear! I've been sending good vibes in the process - I'm just hoping you get things cleared away good with your doctor - I'm sure it's been stressful, and nobody should have to work so hard to get the medicine that makes them feel better.

I love how positive and supportive you always are. Everytime you visit my thread, my day is brightened - true story! Please keep that K-train on the tracks Missbud! :cheertwo:

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

finally caught up with the journal!

+reps
love ur methods on germinating with success

i use rooters like those! and they work great.
i think ima make the whole deeper in aswell!
my girls stretch so quick and so tall out of them they start falling over :(

ill see if that solves the problem! good journal!

Thanks STHC - that's awesome. I wanted to share what's worked good for me, because it took some trial and error to get there. I was hoping to save someone else some of the "error". ;)

The reps and the props are much appreciated!! :thankyou:

Crazy! Hoping I don't get quite that many, but I'll go with the flow. :) It's amazing how many they'll produce, especially when you consider seeds go for 10-20$ a piece at the seed stores. Thanks for sharing that, thinkerr!

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

yeah i know the seed stores are making BANK. but the time and effort to stabilize a strain then make a cross for fem seeds. plus the lighting and other expenses they are deff making a shit ton of money but gottta thank them for saving us the time and effort so we can go straight to enjoyment.

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

That Deadhead OG is a keeper! Pure lemon pledge funk.

Hi Leaflady!

You've had it? I've not gotten much feedback on it from others, yet. If you've had it, wondering your thoughts on the "high":

For example, did you find it: Upbeat, couchlock, do you feel like doing things or going to bed?, creative?, motivated?, etc....

Do you think it would be effective for treating any specific ailments? ie. pain relief, sleeplessness, migraines, etc.?

Thanks in advance for any other thoughts you have on it -- I'm curious as I haven't heard a lot about it yet - a little, but not a lot. Also, thanks for dropping by! :)

Oh yeah, actually I definitely wasn't knocking them for their prices, per se' as I'm sure there is a lot of operating expense, marketing and distribution expenses, etc. I really don't know, but I'd give them the benefit of the doubt.

It's a trip thinking about how much we spend to buy seeds, though, and then grow plants and try like hell not to let them get seeded. ;)

I can't even begin to explain how grateful I am to have "met" you:Namaste:

I like to think of myself as a puppy, giving out nothing but love and kindness:peace::cheertwo::Namaste:

My appt isn't for another 3 weeks but besides this little speed bump things are doing really well around here =)

May I ask how things are on your end??

How is your chocolope, skywalker, lucy and magic bud treating your pain?

I hope everything is great with you and your family:circle-of-love::Namaste:

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

Since I posted my germination method in conjunction with sticking a Chocolope seed in a Rapid Rooter, I thought I should follow up with a picture of the Chocolope seedling, which thankfully is doing well (might have been a bit embarassing otherwise!) It was my last Chocolope seed, too, so I'm happy and relieved for that reason, too. I took this soon after it broke through, 2 days ago:

Chocolope seedling/hopeful future mom:

Here's the Super Lemon Haze mom in a 2 gallon coco coir Smartpot, now about 2 months old from seed - I've trained her and topped her to keep her low and manageable - I'm planning on taking cuttings from her for the next round, along with the Chocolope that I just sprouted:

Here's the Deadhead OG (future mom from a clone I took) in a 1 gallon Smartpot with coco coir:
mar_10_3.jpg

The plants in the flowering tent are now at about 21 days bloom

Though I've been defoliating selectively along the way, I'll probably deofliate a bit more, soon.

I'm also going to try to pollinate a bud or two on each plant from the Jack the Ripper male I have sequestered in another room, probably tomorrow.

The gals in flower look really good, and overall the canopy is fairly low, even and spread. They are bushed out nicely, which is what I was going for as they are all fairly Sativa heavy hybrids. It's been difficult to keep up with the training the last few days, but I'm still happy with things in flower.

I'll try to get some pics of the gals in flower when the lights come on again.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

couldnt reply in PM mate it says i need 50 posts n ive not been on here long n only up to bout 35, anyways thanks for the info, i see you done 4 journals so im gona av a read through them, ive gone with 20-4 from day one i used to grow 18-6 many years ago, i do believe the plants need sum dark period to build roots, but im no expert so just guessing really, im sticking with 20-4 till i see clear evidence that other schedules produce more, at least with this grow anyway, what im gona do is when ive took cuttings is grow 2 side by side at the different schedules and see what gives best results, its the only reaal way im going to tell for myself whats best, thanks for your input, and the more i get the better my grow will be,

Welcome Paul!

I PM'd you just because I didn't want to further clog up Propa Gator's thread on the topic, and I'm glad you dropped by.

They build roots just fine under 24/0, I promise. Check out Mr. Smith's entry in the POTM - It's got to be well over a 1 lb. plant, grown indoors, vegged 24/0.

The plants I have in the tent were done under the "GLR" veg cycle, but the plants in the picture above are all 24/0 at the moment just for the simplicity.

Having said all that, if I were really desparate to maximize veg production, I'd do some dark period too, either 20/4, 18/6, or GLR. BUT - they all work fine, and are a means to the same end. Besides, it's all about the flowering... Don't sweat the veg schedule too much! ;)

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

X, your little ones are looking good. The Chocolope you have is the OG Chocolate Thai X Cannalopehaze right and not the new Chocolope Kush (Chocolope X Kosher Kush)?

:thankyou:

Howdy HMG!

Yes, I have the original Chocolope (OG Chocolate Thai x Cannalope Haze) and it's hands down, the best ganja I've had (at least the stuff from my last grow was). "Lucy" (Barney's Farm "Ell Ess Dee"... Mazaar/Skunk) is right up there for me, too, but I'm so sad about being nearly out of Chocolope at the moment.

Oh, and yeah, I want to try the other one bad, too!! Chocolope Kush sure sounds good too, huh?!

That's good to hear about Lucy I just picked up a couple seeds of that.

Yeah I think it sounds good and if the pain relief from it is as good if not better than the Chocolope. :woohoo: Did you find the chocolope helped with your nerve pain? I haven't found a strain yet that will really take the edge off the nerve pain.

That's the biggest reason I like it, as it's the first and only strain I've had yet that's really been legitimately helpful with the nerve pain. A lot o the indica doms I've grown are good with spasms and joint type pain, and distraction, but Chocolope was the first that seemed to make a dent for nerve pain. Plus, ours had this great almost fruity pebbles flavor (not the chocolate pheno) and packed a big kick and massive giggles factor. I've also never had a strain that made me feel so much more energetic and motivated - though "Lucy" does that well too. It was pretty perfect for what I like - I hope this next one is as good... :yummy:

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

I hear that alot of the Thai herbs help with nerve pain. Another I hear about is called Cannatonic X. It's suppose to have 'up to 20 % CBD. It was talked about last months high times mag. Resin Seeds has it. It's a cross between MK Ultra/G-13 Haze. They say a 1 to 1 ratio going. Check into them. Haze's might also work if ya don't mind the longer flowering times. +++ to ya and Keepem Green
BTW I have acouple new auto's. I plan on growing them out so they can finish in July. I'm going to start them in a 3 gallon smart pot and flower them out back.

Holy cryminy! 20%CBD!?! That would be amazing! Highest I can find is 2% in any of the "High CBD" strains out here. I'ma have to go check that one out!

Edit: Just did some quick research on the analysis at a couple of the "breakdown" sites. The (~)1:1 ratio is accurate! Mind you this is not one to really get stoned on, (sorry couchlock lovers) but the promise of a (~)1:1 should have any chronic pain sufferer at least wanting to give this one a try.
