XLR8's BCNL Mixed Strain Hydro Grow 2011

I managed to take a couple of photos the other night, but I ran out of steam before I could post an update. Figured I'd throw them up now anyway...

Here is an update from last night:

Temp hanging steady at 74f
PH had crept up to 6.1 - adjusted it back to 5.6
RH was 49%

I pulled the PPP out a few nights ago, and did a routine flush to keep roots from building up with salts. I'm planning a reservoir change again tonight, and I'll push the PPM up to about 1200 again.

I also plucked a couple of "balls" off of the blueberry, but I'm not seeing anymore at this point. :wood: Since I'm planning on keeping the Blueberry this point, I'm going to hope that no more show up. The rest of "her" is starting to bud up with white hairs and looks good. I'm thinking the DM Reverse is still an unknown for me. If the Blueberry stays "ball free" for me, then I may believe it played a role in helping stop hermies...

The only sure 100% female seems to be the bagseed mystery plant, and she is an odd one for me. I have no idea what her lineage is, but she sure is a squat, stocky little lady so far.

The Blueberry started growing crazily while I was laid up (bummer) and it's an issue I didn't quite expect. Her height is officially a problem, but I'll have to just do my best. Her most recent growth has all been indicative of a "triploid" plant - everything is in 3's. Kinda cool, but she's gone from runt to monster quick size-wise.

So glad your OK! Don't like surgeries of any kind......I've had a few, well more than more than a few. Sorry it's your back mostly, that's the worse kind of pain.

Thanks OMM - Well, one female and a second that I'm hoping chooses that lifestyle. The blueberry had two "balls" I'd been watching for a few/several days (partially in denial I admit). No more showed up, so I snipped 'em, and all other growth looks female, so... Reverse? Luck? More coming? Stay tuned...

I am doing okay, healthwise, but just okay. I think the most difficult part is that I have a long hill in front of me with no guarantee of better health at the end, and it's tough to bear when I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself. But it does no good to do that - so I'm just going to grin and bear it! :):):)

I'm actually pretty good on meds for now, but I worry about down the road. I would have been stocked up nicely, but I lost some to mold after my last harvest (long story, 2 jars didn't get burped as they should have - ARGH!). So now I am worried about 3 months from now having a problem. But, no sense worrying yet! :bitingnails:

Besides, maybe these two will surprise me and turn into monster bud production machines! Go girls go!!! :cheertwo: :cheertwo: :cheertwo:

Thanks w1sest, I've been blessed until now, so I guess I was due. I thought about a little breeding experiment, but I'm struggling physically right now, so new projects are on the back burner for a bit. Down the road, I'm absolutely going to get creative and make some seeds/breed if I can.

Thanks for the well wishing everything went fine yesterday, I am on my feet today. I managed to wake up about 2 minutes before they finished, didn't feel anything. I hope you are getting better, the girls look great, shame to see the empty hole, more room to grow in I guess. I will be starting my new journal in a few days, I managed to set up the Grovault on Monday night so I am moving some girls into it today. I'll send a link to it.

Sure like your attitude about your health. No use diving into despair.....doesn't help at all. Most of us are in that situation too. Live like there is no tomorrow today. Hell, I've lived much longer than I ever thought I would.
No worries about the end of this grow.....you learned that lesson already!

Well, not much new to report - buds are starting to really take off compared to a couple of days ago. Just finished a maintenance flush, and bumped 'em back to 1200 ppm.

I think my PH meter is "on the fritz" so to speak. It's giving me an error message every time I try to calibrate it all of a sudden. It's been great to me for just over 2 years, but now I'm going to have to find the manual or go online to check out the error message... For now I'm fudging it by noting how off it is reading from the calibration solution and doing the math with my reservoir.

Took a quick photo of the roots last night of my 2 remaining ladies (blueberry and mystery seed):

Yikes! I'm so glad I've not woke up before surgery is over - that would not be pleasant...

That Grovault is awesome. OMM have you seen this? Seems like the Ferrari of portable indoor grow environments. Not cheap, but extremely cool.

Thanks Hemp - They are bright white in person (especially when not influenced by the HPS lamp). Kinda motivated me to take a picture - they have been the picture of health so far. That's why I've been so bummed about the 2 males and the couple of balls on the blueberry. They've been so babied and healthy, but sometimes "shit happens", I guess!
 
man your girls got bottoms and tops :cool: how is the blueberry any more twigs and berrys? if not that is a good sign if it has pistils on its lower sucker branches you should be good to go but be vigilant in your searching for sacks. i get a hermie every grow but i always wait to see if its more dominant female or male hahahaha my current grow is the first one that went male to female but is male dominant so out it must go...... how are the flowers developing on them?

Hi Falcore -

Found 3 more "balls" tonight (pulled 'em), but dozens of female buds everywhere. I'm so pissed though about the few male flowers... The female buds are really building quick on the blueberry, though, and slowly on the mystery bag seed (Missy). Thanks for weighing in with your thoughts - appreciate it greatly! :thankyou:
