XLR8's BCNL Mixed Strain Hydro Grow 2011

Great looking plants xlr8 :)
Fine pictures too!
Which Blueberry are you growing? IE what seed company? Strain?
Just nosy. :)

Hi OMM - :thankyou: for the kind words on the plants and the pictures. they are Dutch Passion Blueberry - here's their description:

Our Original Blueberry is a mostly Indica (80% Indica, 20% Sativa) strain, that dates to the late 1970's. A large producer under optimum conditions. A dense and stout plant with red, purple and finally blue hues, that usually cure to a lavender blue. The finished product has a very fruity aroma and taste of blueberry. It produces a notable and pleasantly euphoric high of the highest quality and is very long lasting. Medium to large calyxes.

THC 19.5%
80/20 Indica/Sativa

Sounded good to me! :)

WOW, those girls got huge!:high-five: bet it smells sooo good in there

So are you at ~day 34-35 of flower now? The weight should be packing on soon, how are those tie-down sticky things (Sorry for the child-like description :)) working out? Do you think they will help hold up some of the weight as well?

Sorry for the 20 questions... looking great!

:goodjob:

Hey Dime - they do smell really good. I'm also pleased to say that they aren't smelling at all outside the box. :)

You're pretty much right on with the days since I switched to 12/12 (34 I think). I'm expecting the blueberry to be ready around 4/20 or slightly after, probably... I'll be watching the trich's.

The plastic things are working okay, but I wish they had a bit more meat at the end to keep things from sliding off. I've got some new ones I'm going to try eventually here that will work better, I think (more of a hook on the end to grab on to).

They could certainly help with the weight - they are really really sturdy, frankly. I shouldn't need it though as the small size of my grow box kinda holds everything up most of the time.

Appreciate the nice words regarding the girls. :thankyou:

Oh, and I don't mind questions - gimme your next 20 when you got em. ;)

Love this picture. They're just pumping out the resin huh? :high-five:

Late arrival to your show(s) but have been in the wings admiring and learning. You're doing a lovely job here xlr8! The grow is progressing very quickly and positively. You may need another Mothership to place on top if that Blue Spruce keeps pushing. Either that or your yo-yo's will have to do "round-the-world"!

I do need to take an aside and sincerely thank you for your support, knowledge and kindness. You are an exemplary 420 citizen and a privilege to be acquainted with. Best to you my friend.

Well what do you know! I have 4 of those seeds already! Guess they sounded good to me too. :grinjoint:
Will have to germ a few so when my new room is ready, I can just throw them in there and away we go. I'm tickled over this!:clap:

OMM's seed bank!:Namaste:

Very Cool OMM - Glad to see you tickled!

Hope you don't have the tribulations in the beginning that I had - but I am very pleased with where she's at so far. I'm loving her madly at the moment - really swelling up quickly and very frosty/pretty. Despite the funky start, I can definitely see trying this one again myself (assuming the smoke is also as good as they say).

Nice job xlr8 plants look sweet... :thumb:

MV...

MV - I'm going to embarrass you a bit. With all due respect to all of the other great growers on this site (and there are a lot!!) you grow the nicest plants I've ever seen. Period.

Having said that - I can't tell you how much I appreciate that compliment - but rest assured it's a helluvalot!! :thankyou:

P.S. Those Matero Blue's you've been growing are amazing - you got my nod in POTM. Looks like you've got another beauty for the April contest. :yummy:

Definitely - I love that picture too. I love when they get just frosty/fuzzy with resin. I hated the way this plant started, but I'm pretty pleased with her at the moment! :thankyou: Hemp!

That description makes me want to go out and get some blueberry seeds.

Hey PB - Does make me itch for harvest time! The description definitely worked on me, lol!

There are so many good looking strains to try - it's like a smorgasbord of future opportunity.

If I had a dime for every seed I want to order/try, well I'd use those dimes to order seeds, I guess... :)

Wow Weed - I really appreciate the compliments. You literally made my day! I'm really having fun (virtually) hanging out with you guys, and it helps me forget about some of my health stuff a little. I'm thrilled if I've been able to help you at all - but I think you need to take the credit. You're sitting pretty right now because you have busted your butt learning and caring for your ladies.

Thanks for the nice words, Weed. Truly. The feeling is mutual. :thankyou:

And, you're right - I'm about to blow the lid off that Mothership! I think I need some more elbow room - might try to figure that out this summer. Plus, the meds seem to disappear quicker than they used too somehow. Hmmm... :hmmm: ;)

Love the thought of the yo yo's going "around the world"!!:laughtwo::rofl:

You would have have a lot of me's running around...

Let the mothership BLOW!

:Namaste:

:laughtwo: Funny thing is, I did think of that at one point when I was typing it (your acronym)! Then, being high, I forgot 'til you brought it up again. True story! :)

From Seed: Day 68 for Missy, Day 61 for Blueberry --- Day 35 of 12/12

Here are a couple of photos from this morning - the Blueberry gets frostier by the day, and the bagseed is starting to get frosty, but it's definitely being a bit slower about things.

RH 50% last night, and 48% this morning. I'll take it. :)
PH has been maintaining pretty steady at about 5.8% - that seems to be where it wants to be at the moment. Eventually it will drift up from there, but it will go quickly from 5.5 to 5.8, pause a couple of days, then creep up to 6.0 - 6.1. It's like clockwork.

They are really drinking right now, and it's dicy letting them go a whole week without a water top-off. The roots are really filling up the reservoir - it's getting hard to do things like PH up with so little room in there, but it's not a big deal and this happens every time at that stage. I'm having to be careful when working in the reservoir as the top tray has so much weight on it from the plants right now (they're some heavy buggers!) that it cracked a teeny bit the other day when I went to lift it up a bit. I'm worried about this getting worse, and I'll have to give it a good once-over when this grow is complete. For now, just need to be careful.

Here's a couple of pictures from this morning:

Have a great day all! :) :bong:

XLR8, looking great! :welldone:

I've been having the same issues with PH creep since changing to the AN nutes. But, it seems to stabilize after the first few days.

I wish I could feel sorry for you for having such heavy plants, but I'm having a real tough time mustering up any true sympathy! :)

Sounds like you have your climate well under control and I'm sure you'll see a great harvest! :cheertwo:

Thanks Mr. K! Yeah, I'm not expecting a lot of sympathy. :) Definitely a problem I can live with. I'm expecting a decent harvest from these 2 now :yahoo: :wood:- I was pretty discouraged a few weeks back.

Is your res made from ABS plastic? I have done a little plastic welding on car bumpers etc. and you could probably do the same on your res. Or you could just apoxy it too...

There are a bunch of ways to do it!

Great suggestions, Dime. You my friend, are one handy, ingenious individual. I will look at that after the grow, for sure. :thankyou:

Speaking of which - was checking out your newest light fixture idea - any concerns about the heat in the center where the bulbs are close to each other? I'm planning on eventually building something based off of your plans/experimentation, so I'm watching your set-up(s) with a lot of interest. Seemed like where the ends of the bulbs got close to one another there could be a whole lot of heat - but I might be overthinking it. Have you built it yet? Or wait - is that tomorrow's project?

Thanks again for the tips! :high-five:
