Woodsman's Northern Light #5 Grow

Hey Buddy Glad you made it back in one piece.:) Sounded like a HOT time weather wise. High whining engines and hot ladies. What more could you ask for? Oh! never mind, you could ask for allot.:grinjoint:

Sounds like listening to Boston and being stoned was the best part of the trip.
The amazing power of women to change men. Your poor brother! It ain't worth it!:smokin2:

Glad I wasn't around when you left when the wife was in the shower, but your still alive!:ganjamon:

Your plants just grew for you, they love Daddy.:yahoo:

Now we can get back to the "serious" stuff!:ganjamon:

Good to have you back, Bud.:welldone:

HH RoorRipRoorRip

I just erased my reply to you! I must have wrote 500 words Hypo and instead of hitting the 'submit' button, I hit the X! Unbelievable! It was funny too. Took me about a half hour to write. Ever happen to you? Not my first time. LOL

I'll just whiz through it briefly.

I've been out of touch lately, to say the least! Just a spell I hope. I miss you all. Just in a sort of funk I guess. My wife and I have been working hard at her and my gardens since we've been back from Indy and today we've pretty much finished. She's got all her flowers in the front yard in the ground and I spent the day out driving all over doing errands including getting some more Happy Frog and picking up some more water at the artisan well. Got home and proceeded to re-pot all 12 (or is it 13) of my plants! Used up all the water in one shot! I will never grow this many outdoor plants again! Not cheap with all the Happy Frog I've used. I'll get some photos out (maybe tomorrow). I normally start with 3 or 4 plants and end up with one or two females. I'm still try to remember why I'm growing this many plants? LOL! Let's see, pissing off the wife with all my time and money it's taking, and wearing me out doing all the work on it! Better be some awesome sh*t when all is done! I may have enough smoke for a few years! All donated to my favorite charity. Me!

I'll try to get out of this 'hermit like funk' I've been in lately and try to be more sociable. I haven't visited anyone for days! Maybe I'm pregnant? :ganjamon:

Glad to hear your on your way to another great grow! All the best bro!

This time I'm pressing the 'submit' button!

RoorRipWhere am I? Oh hey there Woods, I see I found myself on a porch covered in pot plants...:passitleft:. Really nice porch too...I could chill on that porch for hours...I am already getting a tan from the time I spend sitting with my outside garden. BTW I hate bugs...nuff said...little bastards seems to really love pepper plants and my basil.

Sigh the circle of life...bugs eat my vegetables and I eat the bugs...oh wait. STAY THE HELL AWAY BUGS.

So what is the funk...that post harvest "I, I smoked too much"? Or the beginning of the heat of summer? I hope it goes away my friend, cuz the blues are no fun...I currently have them on the run....:)

:peace: Woods my good friend, hope peace returns to you and then some.

Haha! I am out of my mind I think? I just wrote hypo (twice, cause I erased the first attempt by accident) and didn't realize that you all had written me on the next page! I haven't' smoked for hours, really! I'm just worn out from all the re-potting earlier! LOL It's not like these are 2 gallon pots. I've now got 3 ten gallon pots (the NL#5 will get one also when it's large enough). The rest are in a variety of pots, from 2 to 5 gal. That's because I didn't have enough Happy Frog to go all the way with some of the others. Just need to wait till the wife is not paying attention before I can get some more! Just bought the fourth large bag of the sh*t today and I still need another for the NL and the bagseeds (all 7 of them). May have to wait a month till they start to show sex and then use the soil from the males to 'beef up' the rest of them! I had to add some sphagnum peat moss to stretch out what i had. I did not want to do this, as I've not had the best results with peat. But of course this time around I will be watching the pH, something I never did until the last grow. Just to help though, I added some lime to the pots with some peat in them. Am I OK doing this? I know that my pH will be leaning on the acidic side of 'happy' with the peat. Hope it's not a battle to keep it in the 6's. It's only the bagseed that has the peat/happy frog mix, the two Mazars, the Runt, and the NL#5 are 'straight' Happy Frog (just those 4 plants are living in 40 gallons of HF). I must have a total of 55 gallons of the stuff! Never again will I do this many at a time! I'll get some pics as soon as the plants recover from any shock they might be experiencing from the re-potting. Gave all of them their second lite dose of fish emulsion and cal/mag after they were settled into their new homes. It rained the other day after we got home so I have to nute them in between the rain drops! It's suppose to rain again tomorrow and the next day also. What do you all do outside after it rains with the pH? pH is upper 7's for our rain. I can't see correcting the pH after every rain. Do I just correct it when I water and feed? I would think that is the logical way to do it, right?

I've been a real recluse lately folks! Trying to get 'with it' again, we'll see. Maybe I burnt my motor out and need to recharge the batteries! Like a runner who sprints for three quarters of the race then runs out of gas before the finish line!

I will be starting that Outdoor journal any day since this one is winding down. Part of the Runt is curing now (main cola and a secondary) the rest is still hanging and should be in the jar by tomorrow. I'll check the weight on it then, but I think my earlier prediction of a total at one ounce is going to be real close. Just under a quarter pound for the three ladies with two and a half of it really good stuff.

Hi mate,
I have been enjoying your journey; I am writer, and I wanted to say you write very well. I like your prose style, it is immediate and spontaneous. Keep up the good work, and have you ever thought of writing short stories.
happy harvest

Hello Superbluehaze! Glad your with us and thanks for the kind words! I enjoy writing and have always thought of writing a book. I am an avid 'Fantasy' reader and like many folks I've entertained the idea of writing my own tales. I will someday! I have published essays in magazines before. Those were how-to articles, essays and stories having to do with a former profession of mine (top secret, a dead give away to anyone living in my area - although I will take $$$ right now to sell myself out! LOL).

HELL YEA. Great smoke report, and i think that runt will do exellent. she looks great all potted up, awith just the right ammount of foliage!!! nice.

welcome back!

Thanks buddy, I did what you all suggested, lite nutes and some cal mag. I tore the heck out of her roots and she's still alive! No new growth yet, but it's just a couple of days. Maybe a week or so till I see something. This time around, I've got good weather and she's been outside since her 'resurrection.' Fingers Crossed!

More great stuff. Enjoying this very much.
:peace:

We enjoy you here also my friend! Hope you will be along on my upcoming outdoor journal!

Good to have you back, Bud.:welldone:

Ahh OMM glad you came over here. I'm being a 'hermit' lately and totally unsociable! Just a phase I hope!

I really enjoyed the whole trip, but it was just that the evenings by myself and alone with my stuff that topped off the day for me. Not used to all the running around, restaurants, family etc... millions of people. Needed a 'quite time' for myself. Love Boston, always have. My kind of music.

I wish I was a young and single guy at the race! 'Single' for all the pretty, half naked gals around and 'young' so I could keep up with them! Too old and married to do anything else but look now! LOL.

The plants seem to grow much faster outdoors, almost forgot how quick they go out here.

Hey OMM, your gift came in very handy over the weekend and produced quite a few great pics! I went crazy at the Speedway (cars not gals).. :rasta:... That would have been something I would have done a few year ago though! Plenty of 'scenery'.

thanks for the update woods. they're looking great.
The runt's cola looks yummy.

Peace out homie.

Hey bud! Thanks! She's a real treat. .............. coming this way?

very nice, everything looks great, healthy, and i really think the rejuv. will go great....great start on this one....glad you had fun...well, i'm sure you really did....even tho it was hot, in all ways possible....lol....you need mirrored glasses if you don't eventually want your eyes poked out....lol...take care, i'll see ya soon....i can:rollit: just see the smoke rolling out:bong:....lavendar

Hi girl! LOL! My wife would have 'removed' or 'separated' me from my eyes had I been not so 'sneaky' or 'clever' let's say!

Ha ha! The night after the race there was a lot of activity in the parking lot. All the hotels are booked in Indianapolis for the race weekend. I had to wait quite a long time in between tokes because of all the people coming and going. Then I had to wait awhile before the coast was clear in order to get out of the jeep and go back inside. You needed the room key to get in the side door which was right next to (thank god) the elevator. I must have reeked something awful from the smoke and didn't want to be standing there with other guests around. I was lucky though and always seemed to be able to sneak in 'undetected'!:ganjamon:

Hey Mountain my friend! Took me so long to write that last post, that I missed you coming in the back door! How are ya bud? I've been a huge 'recluse' lately and have not been around much. Sorry Bud! It's not like I'm in a depression, it's more like a burn out. Or it could be that I'm smoking too much good sh*t lately and don't know where the 'get off your ass button' is! Not physically, I've been finding all kinds of things to do around here with my forest out on the deck and the wifes garden and all. It's the upstairs that's running a little 'lean' lately! LOL I'll step out of it soon and be back to 'whoring around' 420 like old times! I've not visited anyone's site in day's (a week?) Deplorable! I'm going for the record of being an anti-social and 'deppravent (no such word) sole'

Peace Bro! Oh Ya I did I tell you all that I cut my hair? :rasta: I'm almost as good looking as you are now. :rasta:

Hey old Buddy We old farts have to rest every once in a while. My journal is about over now and it's the perfect time for a rest. I actually know what your talking about, it's part mental and physical.
Of course you wanted to see the race and I wouldn't miss it either, however it is not your normal routine and let's face it you wanted to show your best to everyone. Watching your P's and Q's all the time can be exhausting. We growers are mostly kind of loners except around others of our breed. We are used to routine and are kind of self absorbed. We do things our way. :grinjoint: Sneaking around to have smoke is a demoralizing in it's self. Like you are some kind of leper.
Then you come home and there's so much to do it's almost too much, both physically and mentally. Mix in worries about money and keeping the wife happy. Then there's starting a new journal and ending the old. Once again theres more pressure to be up and happy for everyone here. I know the feeling!
Not that we don't love it all, but we do need to take a break some time and recharge the batteries. Take your time and get your soul well again! :ganjamon:

Hi Wood What's up??

Howdy my fine friend! How are things in the Tuscan countryside? My Brother and his wife were just in your area enjoying they're 25th anniversary. they got back to the States a few weeks ago.

Yur journal is finished? Wow, I've got to stop by and take a look!

You hit it on the head about us growers being somewhat loners! More so in places that it is not 'encouraged' I would think, but also where it is permitted I would imagine as it is a common trait among us longtimers.

I think my situation is related. I have always been a fairly shy individual in general. I came out of my shell so to speak when I came over here because I was made to feel at home. Normally I stay to myself and shun social 'situations' if I can. Hey, I mentioned before that we don't get visitors much (understatement) I grow on the back porch because it is 'unvisited territory'. I don't think anyone has been out there (or inside for that matter) in a couple of years. My mother in law lives in the Philippines and was probably the last to visit! My Brother used to come up, but his wife has an allergy to cats (great!) so they never come here. We meet occasionally for an afternoon or evening 'somewhere in between' usually to eat out. Or we just go to Chicago and visit at their place.

Right now I'm being more like I normally am (being reclusive). No one should take it personally. I dig you all and very much and greatly appreciate the opportunities that I have had in meeting you all. I will get through this personal issue and will bounce back. Please no sympathy as it is my own fault that I'm like this! Money is acceptable of course (small bills proffered). LOL! See, I can still make the wise cracks, just can't get off the 'bench'!

Lots of pressure lately trying to find work, not only for me, but my wife. What a pair we are! We are both moody at times and in this tiny (one room with a loft) home, things get mighty interesting sometimes! Me being on the computer (a lot) and especially this site really get's her going and in some ways, that may have caused my 'relapse' into my current 'silence'. I used to stand my ground with here about that, but it really got old and more not worth the hassle to lock horns with her over it. Then the trip, pressure from the bro and his wife to do all kinds of things to better our predicament, then home to our gardens and here we are! Life in a sentence!LOL

Hi Woodsman We just said the same thing to each other, which is great.
We live very much the same. Luckily I have bit larger place and more places to hide from Jo, so that helps. It can be a real pain when our supposedly best friends are in a head on conflict with us. Gets really trying. :smokin2::smokin2:
Maybe I can talk my Big Tata nurse in to coming over to help you!:yahoo:

Hi woods,
yea i;ve done the same thing more than once, glad to see that i'm not the only one.
looks like your going to grow for the whole county lol.Wish i could grow out side, sho would be cheaper.looking forward to seeing your girls out side. The last out side grow i had, i didn;t do anything but plant and harvest, lol(got over 2 lbs off one plant.
I hear ya on the hermit funk,i guess we're being selfish, but my excuse is i enjoy your post, there better than most books i read.Take it easy my friend. HH-RoorRipRoorRip

Just a quick poke in to say hi. Loved this journal, and looking forward to the one outside!

Sorry there's a little added stress in your life right now, but hang in there. Keep a nice mellow head. If you get too wound up - watch the movie "Harvey". That always sets my head right about the important things in life.

:peace::rollit:

i totally understand...me too, been quiet...winding down after what seems like a whirlwind....alot of changes in rooms for our benefit...good time to rest up...omm said it great in an earlier post....later, lavendar, you'll feel great after you rest up...:rollit:

You folks are terrific! Thanks for understanding, you don't know how much it means to me to have you all around! I'm sure I won't be a 'posting maniac' like I was, but I'll try to post as much as I can.

Jason, the Runt is looking very healthy right now, yet no new growth yet. It shouldn't be long though before she starts to sprout! Yesterday I gave her a light dose of veg ferts and cal mag. Supposed to rain the next couple of days so she will be diluted even more, but should stimulate growth all the same.

Just took some pics of the plants just now (there are 12 by the way) and should be posting them in the outdoor journal. No sense in putting them here anymore.

I'll let you all know (here) when I've launched the 'Woodsman Outdoors' grow journal! Still stuck on what to call it! LOL How does that one sound? I think it is simple and to the point. More importantly, it will be quicker to type on the pic upload pages. My other option was slightly longer:

"Woodsman's 2010 Outdoor on the back porch with Mazar, NL#5 and various Bagseed . Including trials and tribulations concerning the wife and other dangerous life threatening matters"

Thought that one was too long. People would get bored by the third line, by the fourth they'd need to get heavily medicated! :rasta:

Another option:

"Mrs Woodsman's never ending attempts at sabotaging Mr Woodsman's 2010 Outdoor grow by causing much aggravation and killjoy while Mr Woodsman tries to get and stay medicated"

That one may be to difficult to remember after a bong session.

I'm leaning towards the first and shorter title. Any suggestions?

hahaha, I like the first one too. Glad to hear the runts doing well. Sounds like she may pull thru! You may want to tell the missus that the more she bugs you about it themore you have to medicate. Maybe then she'll stop nagging in hopes that you'll slow the medicating?
I dunno. lol

How about "Woodsman's Deepwoods Extravaganza Outdoor grow"? lol I dunno. I'm never good ath the threadnaming.

Haha! Only problem is that you've got too many long words! Like Deepwoods and Extravaganza! LOL!

As far as the wife goes, I don't think there will be any relief until I am able to move her out west (I would go also). I swear, that every time I smoke, she finds something for me to do or she'll criticize me for something and 'bang' ruined my high again! She's got radar I think and If I could market it, I would make a lot of money! When she goes out (once a month) and visits her girl friends, I have a party! I smoke till I drop! Play my music, post on here and have an all around great time, then she comes home.........That's when I really need to smoke!

Or just "My Grow Outside 2010".:ganjamon:
