Woodsman Outdoors

I just started a journal yesterday wood, but it is very un-exciting. I want to do something cool, but that is going to have to wait for a few things to happen. I have some F13 crosses, Mexican sativa crosses, some Blue Satellite crosses (mostly sativa leaning strains) from a guy that did a bunch of studies with the DJ Short stuff. I want to try to do some exciting things with them and I am waiting for inspiration.

I do not want to say too much, but I do not have spend money for weed nowadays. I am connected with a west coast medical grow cooperative and I can pretty much get all my needs met for weed. Hash is another story though, and that is my thing. I am smoking last years outdoor bud and now and again I have access to hash made from the same. These guys are huge, but the weed is not exactly compact or aromatic. I got spoiled smoking California indoor and that stuff is some strong and aromatic medicine. So what I am saying is my grow journal will be fine for small time indoor growers to look at and my cheap diy methods. My clones just got transferred to soil today, they look weak and sickly and I will show picks once they get past this transition.

I think regeneration is fantastic if you can do it. It was exciting watching it happen the first time. I thought it was super freaky and the members of this other site helped me understand everything was going as expected from my daily pictures. I doubt that I will be doing any of that kind of thing in the near future because cloning is a little faster and easier to coordinate with a perpetual grow.

Great Job G-Dog
I don't see a link to it though. You need to add a link on your 'signature', like I have at the bottom of this post. Just in case your not sure how to do it (most new members do not know how) here is a link - How to Add Links to Signatures

It doesn't matter if your grow is as you say, unexciting', some of the best growers here have unexciting grows going. Though I'm not sure what an 'unexciting grow' is? They are all kind of unexciting early on during veg. I think mine is kind of boring, but it will move into the 'exciting stage as the buds start forming! Just my opinion.

Update and Pics

Still unable to do any heavy work because of my back injury (recurring). Yesterday I went to the spring for water and got eaten alive by the mosquitoes in the process, but I was able to feed
them all today.
They got a full dose of bloom nutes (Tiger Bloom and the last of my Cal/Mag from Chicago Joe). The Bubba Kush got a combo of veg and flower nutes so it will continue to grow. Next time I may just give it flower nutes.

As I mentioned earlier today, because of where the plants are located in relation to the Sun and my inability to move them around (my back), I don't think the pics really do them justice. They would look much better if the Sun was behind me during the photo sessions. The background greenery (wife's plants and woods) is distracting to say the least! Try to imagine them looking greener and taller and without all the 'shadow'. Some of the group shots were taken as I stood on a chair so I could get them all into the pic. In fact I was not even successful at that, they are just way too spread out and I can't back up any more. I was up on a chair and holding the camera way above my head and hoping I got them all in! OK enough blabber! Here's the pics.......

Thanks for taking a look at my garden!

Like always, comments and suggestions are encouraged!

Thanks for the update woods, you are doing great work and your photography (especially under the medical circumstances) owes no apology. You did great on both. I love the Christmas trees (although that is the most recognizable shape of the cannabis from a distance lol). Sorry I couldn't resist. I am truly envious.

Thanks for the nice words and ya I know they look like pot plants. Maybe I should put Christmas decorations on them.

Thanks for your concern OMM
I've been wanting to do a pic update and taking each plant individually. I would need to move them around so the sun is from behind me. That would be a little too much right now also. In fact that would be the worse thing I could imagine other than building a stone wall!LOL

Maybe I'll just do another group shot, but the problem with that is the sun is too either going to be above to the front/left or above to the front/right. don't get 'great pics' like that. The other problem I have when I don't move them is the background of my wifes plants together with the woods behind, sure makes it difficult to differentiate between them all.

Great idea with the laundry basket and all! Hey G, why don't you start a journal, it's never too late. I'm sure many of us would like to see your set up and wee what comes from it!

As far as doing a blog or tutorial about Regeneration, I'm too lazy and I am not an expert!, But I can answer questions as long as it is something I've done myself. Lessons learned etc.

I have no clue how all the different flavors and smell happened to MJ. I would think they are natural occurring phenoms. It would be a bummer to learn that somehow this is a 'man made' phenomenon. I don't see how it could have been done other than by combining strains with different smells or tastes together to make a new phenom.

About the smell of the NL, you would now if anyone does what smells and what doesn't! LOL!

You know L, I've been dreaming of the smoke from the old days back in Cal. I know there were a few different types, What I miss though is the real skunk that I'd get from time to time. Is that what they call the Skunk#1 or is it something else, like the orange stuff? The stuff that even before you open the baggie, it stinks! When you open it it is overpowering, that's what I have longed for.

ok, im inspired....i think that is the original skunk, altho i dont know who has it, but #1 i've heard alot about...that is from the same time period as the old skool, so if i can find a seed i'll slip it in when i start doing the old skool ones....anyway, a skunk of some sort....have alot of sativas so that will help even it out....anyone know where or who sell skunk seed? or whats close to it...the "the kali" i just put in bud has a parent who is lemon skunk....L

just finished reading about the flavors and smells, some of the oils, fancy name here, control the scent, and other oils control the taste, or could be a combination of all of the above.....one of the things they are researching overseas....not here...we dont have that stuff here....

like honeysuckle vs. roses...or colors of roses from white to red....those little hairs are all those colors...when i do a good job on the calif. o.j. the hairs are fire engine red, mixed with those orange on the plant...really diff. up close, and pretty from a distance....but as sooon as it really starts to get ripe, they lose their bloom....but it was pretty....that and a purple are the only ones ive seen up close and personal, thats why all the goofy grows i do....so i can see some of this stuff....and you can enhance flavor, but not by much....by how and what you water with....one im really looking for now is "red beard" only one place sells it and they're always out...supposed to have like inch long bright red hairs, pistils, on it...would be interesting...L

Those ladies are really looking great brother...the whole terrace is beautiful, just beautiful...I am pretty sure though if the mosquitoes are as bad as you say I might build a bug zapper I can sit in....:rasta: I seriously want to build one to carry on my walks....

The last couple nights have been calm when we went walking and I wish this was an exaggeration...but my wife asked me about the bumps on my shoulders when I was changing my shirt, if I was breaking out...NO!, those are mosquito bites (20 + bites, sure glad there is no such thing as West Nile Fever...OH WAIT)...my shirt gets soaked from sweat and pulls tight on my shoulders and I walk with two canes...so am a giant feedbag with no real way to stop them...I try sometimes and almost end up falling, grrr, makes it even worse like they are laughing at me too...spray doesn't seem to ward them off once I start sweating either....is like a dinner bell I swear, I must taste like Prime Rib. :tokin: (Glad I learned long ago that if you don't itch them all all, they go away in less than two hours, so fun to itch them though)

I really should read my posts before I send a PM! I think I asked you about the skunk in a message to you and here it is already answered! I don't know if it is not as strong as some of the new stuff, but I crave that old taste and smell. Just seems like the real stuff to me not just nostalgia.

Seems like many of the larger seed companies sell it. I'm not as up on that stuff as most though so I'm sure you'l find it, heck L, if anyone can find anything, it's you! You have more exotic strains going than anyone (that I've run across here).

I think they need to invent new strains just so you'd have something new to grow all the time! :lot-o-toke:LOL!

Brother I feel for ya! Your almost defenseless out there. You need to soak in the bug spray before you go out! I wish I could post a pic of my wife when she goes out to the garden. Hilarious! My wife is under 5' very tiny, she puts on her two piece Gortex bottoms (pants with suspenders) in green, her red windbreaker on top and puts her very wide brimmed beach hat and wears a mosquito net over the top of that to cover her whole head. Today she cam in from out here dressed up like I described, but complained that they feasted on here ankles. It was then I noticed that she was wearing her flip-flops! LOL! Like wearing a bullet proof vest with out the bullet proof Kevlar inserts and then going into battle!

Great Shots Buddy :thumb:

We can see them just fine. Just had thought of trimming all those! Think you could teach Janet to help...she could wear an oxygen Mask! :thumb:

Hey Woods,what can i say(that hasn't been said)so i'll repeat the gals are simply amazing.I don't envy when you trim,sigh--what we do for fun.:thumb::blunt:

HH

Hello OMM and Hypo I will have to bribe her big time! I doubt she will help me as it will be 'my problem' You grew it, you trim it! I don't even know If she'll let me do it in the house! It is a tiny one room cabin with an open loft upstairs. I'm sure you can all imagine what the smell would be like and what my wife will think about that!! I thought about this yesterday in fact, wondering how I was going to accomplish it all. If the weather is not to bad then (mid or late Oct) I would just do it on the porch. But then I have the problem of drying all the stuff out. We have a storage shed we rent, you know the kind that are in rows. I think it would smell to much though and some one would notice it! If all the plants survive till harvest I could have a least a couple of lbs. That's not a given though with the continuing stem borer attacks and the very 'real' chance of bud rot from the excessive humidity we're having everyday this summer from all the rain. Why didn't I think of this before? Good question! As long as I can find my brain, I'm OK, just that I lose it every once and awhile!:rasta:

Hello woodsman, sorry to hear about your back man. I wish you well soon.

Beautiful garden you've got growing. :yummy:

I just got finished smoking a bowl of my very first harvest. I couldn't help from sharing it with you people hear at 4:20. If it wasn't for the information available hear and on the net, it wouldn't have been possible. Pretty good smoke too. Better than the commercial stuff around here.

:passitleft::passitleft: Here's from me to everyone out there. It's so great to be able to
burn one with a community of such fine people. Without you guys I wouldn't even be able to share this experience with anyone other than my wife (who is very pleased with bud as well).

:thankyou:

Lavendar You can get Skunk#1 from Sensi seeds. I'm growing two of them now. The original Skunk! :yummy:

great....im headed there a.m. .. wondered if that was the original...thank you...L

Our little hobby presents a problem for every stage.

great....im headed there a.m. .. wondered if that was the original...thank you...L

For me that was 'the' smoke, maybe now there are much better strains, but the taste, smell and high are what I long for! I'm a coming over OMM!

Hey Woods! Or should I say Mithrandir? Guess who's here along with Samwise and myself? Haldir! He's my oldest son, and will be helping with the heavy lifting, etc ;)
