Wild Strain From The Midwest

The one thing that has me pretty pumped about these ladies, is the shear amount of bud sites

The only thing that keeps me sane, is the fact hemp carries CBD. I can make lotions and shit worst case.....
I don't wanna think about it.....

The citrus smell after rubbing the stem also helps me stay hopeful.

Absolute worst case, this gets me ready to grow my favorite strain. I eventually want to find a real Neville's Haze. She can go 14-20 weeks. If nothing else this is preparing me for that long ass wait
That's funny, hemp will not flower.

Cheers

You're mistaken on that one.
Literally the only defining characteristic that separates hemp from pot, is THC percentage.
Cannabis Sativa L covers a shit ton of weed. From haze to hemp. Anything under 3% is considered hemp (% changes depending on where you are)

It looks so rad in my greenhouse right now.
I went passed F3, one of her bud hit my face (so of course I grabbed her and smelled her bud), and I had to double take bc of the funk that hit my nose!!!!!

Very faint, almost kush like dank hiding under lemon water. Neither buds on F1, nor F2 have any smell to this point.

As Miller pointed out, these ladies dont get much water from me. I'm assuming they get enough water from the ground (somehow), buy the one thing that this made me realize is.....I've never seen these ladies just go hard up for the sun. So that makes me think they could maybe take a little more.
I'm giving 3 gallons today, and I'll water again in a few days. Then feed again 6 days from today rather than 5.
We'll see how they like it

I think leaf mass is a factor in pulling water out of soil. In looking at you grow it seems very happy with what its getting. But as time goes on, all plants will start drinking more. I've had 5gal in my tent go from once a week to every other day at end of flower. Looking like lots of flowers in your grow, awesome.

I agree.
I'm interested to see how it goes once the sun gets below 12hrs. I really think the buds are going to plump up big-time

Hey Blazin:

Your hemp is certainly stemmy, which is was developed and grown for during WWII for fiber. Those tops should be pretty much all CBD, but they can have higher THC levels. There are a bunch of named hemp strains grown here in Oregon at various farms in state. Some of them post in Craigslist selling high grade strains. I contacted one guy last year wanting hemp seeds for my crosses with high THC strains to get balanced THC/CBD, but the guy went ballistic when I told him what I wanted to do with the seeds. He went off on me that he sells HEMP seed, not marijuana seed. I said I know that, and in fact they are all Cannabis, and even likely the same species, but he would have nothing to do with that. He would not even sell me any seeds. There is another site in CL that sells hemp plugs in the spring in the outer Portland area, which are rooted clones. They only sell in bulk though.

Light dep does not really increase bloom volume. Time does. I am amused to find that most people grow under 12/12 for the entire duration of the blooming cycle indoors, but that is not the best way to grow in my experience. I often times do double bloom cycle grows here outdoors, and I put sized up indoor grown mothers outside in early April and they will start blooming. They will continue to bloom right through the summer solstice and bulk up on bloom size. As a result of my experience, I believe that once blooming is set, Cannabis will continue to bloom regardless of the light that they receive. A light sensitive auxin (or lack of) is what triggers blooming, and likely an auxin given off by the flowers keeps Cannabis in bloom. To support this theory, I have found that I cannot get plants to re-veg under lights (even 24/0) unless I remove all the flowers. Then they revert pretty fast. Same with plants that I bloom in spring; once I harvest in June they revert to veg mode. Then I harvest them again in the fall. I have several old books on weed that cover this, and that is where I got the multi-harvest idea many years ago. With a 4 or 6 plant limit in Oregon, double harvests can really increase your yield.

Hmmm
I'm hoping it's atleast 10% THC. If I could get a 1/1 around that, I'd be happy.
I feel like they probably crackdown much moreso now on THC content of hemp nowadays. That's why I'm hoping this is maybe a newer strain crossed with some feral hemp.

It's just a lot of work for something that may not benefit me much lol
I'm going to stick them out though. Pretty sure F2 will finish sometime around December

10% THC from wild Midwestern hemp? Sorry, not going to happen. My old books have huge array of land races, high, medium and low THC/CBD ratios, and in general they all are all well under 10% THC, even the so called high THC strains. That was in the 1970s... high grade THC strains left to grow wild will lose THC potency typically after 3 generations. Its pretty well known... as is the decline in quality of hemp if left to grow wild. That has been documented for over 300 years now. Cannabis adapts rapidly to new climates.

By law, hemp has to be less than 0.3% THC to be 'legal' in the US and now for medical weed in Mexico. So the THC levels in any wild Midwest hemp is apt to be really low to nearly non-existent. Most land races that I have grown are around 5-7%. Even sinsemillia. Most 50:50 CBD strains that I have grown and bought here in the PDX area are around 5% THC and 5% CBD. Likely you are going to get high CBD and low THC weed. The statistics and averages are all leaning that way. Its a long shot... but maybe you will get something interesting.

That's weird, because I was able to re-veg cuttings taken from flowering plants without removing the buds from the cuttings. I just changed the photoperiod to 24/0 and they completely reverted to vegetative growth within a few weeks.
