Who Let The Dogs Out? Chem Comparison Grow!

I used to use FF nutrients. I had the 12 pack and spent a lot of time measuring that stuff out. I ended up just using the trio and their granular three pack of flowering supplements ( Open Sesame, Beasty Blooms, and Cha Ching) which I like quite a bit. Last year about this time I switched to Mega Crop and love it. I got a 22lb. bag of version #1 and still have a good bit left. With the Mega Crop I still use the FF flowering supplements and from time to time I'll have a plant that needs extra Cal-Mag.

Thanks beez, any information about FF is a good thing. It's just, I have the whole line of FF nutes. So, I guess, I'll give it another try. Maybe just one plant. @beez0404, when you mixed FF nutes up, did you use full strength in a one gal jug? When, I mix the FF nutes up, I do a 1/3 of the dose to a gal. :bong:

This is exciting, @ChefDGreen! Very curious to see how things progress. Nice job.
Thanks Bard! Hopefully things don’t get too out of hand since I’m going 8 more weeks.. we’ll see though, I’m sure with all the knowledge we’ve around here I’ll have all the help I need controlling the ladies

First of all, his pollen sacs will continue maturing and will open in 16/8 right?
If said I knew the answer to your question it would be a lie. When I am growing a male out to be used to make seeds he would be in 12/12 or 11/13 lighting until I was finished harvesting whatever pollen I wanted and then he would go to the compost bin.

I would imagine your male will mature and offer up some pollen I just couldn't honestly tell you when with him in 16/8 lighting. It's a pretty simple thing to monitor though. Clip away enough leaves (especially below the pollen sacks) so you can see the sacks and look for one to be opened like in the photo I showed last night. Once you see the first one open the rest will follow. I find they tend to open overnight so I collect pollen in the morning when the lights come on.

How long does the pollen in the air stay viable? For example, let’s say he starts dropping pollen next week. Of course once it’s harvest and he’s cut down, I’ll wash the whole tent and spray down the ladies. I should be fine to flower 8 weeks later right? If I get a couple seeds here and there it’s no biggie, but that should keep me from getting all my nugs seeded right? Or should I start figuring out somewhere else to let him flower?

Anyone interested in keeping moms and don’t have a lot of space then give this a read, it shows how you can keep bonsais moms in 1liter square pots for years and years. This is how I will be keeping my mothers✌️

It's not so much the room, but the plant count. I'm allowed 10 medical and 4 recreational. With eight in veg/flower I can start six seedlings.

Yea that’s what I will do, I will just take cuttings of everything coming up and the strains I really love I will keep a cut for a mother. I will still try new strains from seed from time to time but I will keep my moms held closely lol✌️

I like that article. Going to try it with the green crack clone that is tucked in a corner right now.
