Ummmm yeah it is, depending on if you have enough drainage or not, over watering is just lack of oxygen at the roots, suffocation if you will. If you have enough drainage then it's unlikely. Or in my case I grow dwc, my roots are constantly in water but I have airdstone for oxygen, care to guess what happens if my air pump fails?

True. If I was growing in heavy clay soil I'm sure the plants would suffer from the way I water.
I use well-drained, light mixes like Promix HP.
How long between waterings is impossible to say. It depends on the size of the plant, the size of the pot, the temperatures and humidity, the soil, the amount of air movement, etc. If I have to water every other day, the plant is heavily root bound. When new, in solo cups for example, seedlings are good for at least one week. I've let them go two weeks and they were fine. Most typically for me is about every 4 days lets the soil dry out well. This is ONLY for newer plants. Once the roots are fully developed, I do not let the plant dry out nearly as much - especially in bloom.

Relatively new to this game - tho a lifelong aficionado ;)

Had a go about ten years ago - learnt from that but not able to have another go until now

Used borrowed 600w HPS once last summer - decent result - 11/10 for quality - Kitted up with 2 x 315w Philips daylight for this run

Last time got given six - eight inch clones from mate that just went nuts immediately they were introduced to their new environment

This time given clones from unknown source (mate of mate) that appear to be monster cropped (cloned from flowering mother)

They were only a couple inches tall, only in cubes, but good root formation on outside of cubes

Nooooob fool just put em straight under both 315s about two feet away before dialled in room (tho in preceding weeks had been experimenting with temp control a few hours at a time, found out that room warms up a fair bit after 20 hours tho lol)

They got a bit cooked, but are recovering now, dark green & many small unfurling side shoots

Rockin 1.5 x 1.5 x 1.8 tent in room that's only just slightly bigger

2 x 5 inch carbon filter fans - one goes to outside vent (only runs when lights on) - one just vents from in tent to little room that tent is in (runs when lights off / will change to run 24h when flowering to reduce running temp)

one 12 inch osc fan almost on floor but suspended on bungee cord, angled slightly upwards but mostly horizontal

three 6 inch clip ons pointing down, suspended fairly high up on bungee cord - two at back come on with lights, one at front on all the time


window will need to be cracked open when both 315s running - 5 inch filter fan directs flow out vent when lights on to encourage inward fresh air flow thru window - closed for now - fresh air gets in under door currently

Sorry if i sound stupid but how do u use 2 315 wat bulbs in 1 600hps light

Forgot to mention two 500w oil filled heaters - one inside tent timed to come on really low when lights go off - keeps tent about 19/20C when dark - one just outside tent in small room to heat air that surrounds tent, timed for dark phase, with thermostat set to come on if outer room area drops below 20C
