After a long read and going back and forth on the subject I've decided to trim off some more fan leaves. I'm not a huge fan of doing this but my tent is so damn full I felt I had no choice. Altho I took a bunch off to open up the canopy there is still a ton of leaves left for the plants to use up. Hell.. if I didn't tell you I did it you most likely wouldn't have even noticed. Now all the buds are open and able to get plenty of light.

You just did a great service to improve overall bud development. i have been wanting to see if you'd be interested in trimming them . I would have took more than you did. But you did a good thing. I defoil at end of stretch and then anytime I see one blocking any light, it's history. But I'm finding that in coco, plants grow more leaves quicker, so i think I maybe should have did some defoil in late veg. , . I don't want to do any cutting now till they've stopped stretching. You probably will notice a little lull for couple days, then they will flourish & You'll never regret it !! O, and MORE BUD !! About another week you need to start sampling your product !! I take some at 6 weeks , and then a little every few days till harvest. You can tell when it's the high you want. I like pot that i can smoke, then go function in some capacity . Not locked to a dam sofa !! Hey remember back to when you was concerned that your starting plants wasn't large enough, well what do you think now Captain ?? I'm in the same predicament as you and I'm in a 4x4x6.5 tent. Wish mine was full of widow !!

Lol yeah I remember thinking they wasn't very big. Wow was I wrong.
I think you are correct about taking more leaves off. I should have taken more but I was nervous.
Better safe than sorry !! Wait a couple days, see what happens. But I can tell you, you wont even know you trimmed in a week !! lol !! Those folks that don't trim, I don't know what they do with all the foilage !!

Yeah I'm not sure what they do. When its as thick as mine was I think its a necessary evil. unless you like popcorn. If I wanted popcorn I would go to the movies and save $900 bucks. Or around $900 anyways. This grow has to produce.
Look man I'm with you and you're gonna do fine. I'm like you because I'm prone to make sudden changes in my plans. You had a plan when you started, don't get distracted. If I was you I'd move up to a 4x4x 6.5 or bigger. 3 plants in your space would have given you as much ,if not more dry buds. The branches have no place to stretch, you think you're cramped now, wait another 10 days !! I bet the folks that made your light is rooting for you ??

Maybe the light company is rooting for me but I can tell you that I'm rooting for them lol. I only chose the 3X3 because it was 6 feet tall. The room I'm in has a low ceiling and the 4X4 that I seen was too tall or I prolly would have got that instead, No biggy as long as I can get a few ounces.
I'm aiming for 8 ounces total dried. That's 2 oz a piece. Wishful thinking? Maybe. But who wants to grow for 4 plus months and invest all that money just to hope for an ounce or three?
For a beginner I feel I have done a pretty good job. I paid close attention to everyones grows and advise. Really looking back besides minor tweaks, I wouldn't change much of anything. Watering is right on now. Nutes are right on. The only X factor is the light. What can it produce.
I'm 5 full weeks from flip and some buds are really looking nice but most still have a lot of filling out to do if I want to hit my goal. Taking some of them fan leaves off should help. Will I hit my 8 Oz goal? We shall see. Fingers crossed2

I suspect you have set your goal to low. I'd say you will get 11-12 dry ozs. and It all depends on the light. If it really replaces a 600w hps, then more. Can't believe my sea of green is 6.5 weeks old already, almost ready to start flush. It was started on 12/21/16. these are my next group of super stars.
