Yes, I was transported to far reaches reading that line.

Cheers,

^ Hmmmm... Is your calibration solution new? The only other thing I can think is that it might have to do with the calibration solution itself. If it's not that, then I would return the meter.

TDS meters measure electrical conductivity? Check your electrical system for grounding, try an RFI/EMI filter. Check for any voltage leak.

Just a thought. Probably a bad meter or TDS probe.

with my light dimmed to the lowest setting:

with my light on full power:

i was (and am) running my light at 75%. so 1500-1600 ppm. lol.
i can fix this.

you were right, i will get some type of filter, maybe try a choke filter and a loop.

my power strip is supposed to filter RFI/EMI up to 43 DB. piece of crap. lol.

When I went to the THC Expo, I got to talk to one of the founders of TH Seeds, he mentioned that feminized seeds are still not 100% Guaranteed to be female, only about 97%. He also mentioned feminized seeds only grow to about half the potential of regular seeds. ALSO that regular seeds have about a 70% female ratio in general!!! I figured you'd be more than happy to have a male in the mix, you are working on breeding right? That'll save you from having to STS, unless it's not the variety you want...

And do you have other things plugged into that strip besides your tri-meter? Perhaps the filtering is only what actually comes into the strip from the mains and not amongst the individual devices that are plugged into it.

BtW, when you play with your dimmer, can you measure any power "leaking" onto wires that should not be hot?

ALSO that regular seeds have about a 70% female ratio in general!!!

It has long made sense to me that the actual ratio of females to males should be much higher than 1:1 under optimum conditions (from day one of germination)(*). After all, most species in nature that have differentiated sexes tend to need far fewer males to "spread the pollen" as it were.

And as everyone who has ever had an outdoor grow ruined by someone else's rogue pollen knows, one male MJ plant can adequately service many female ones.

(*)And if one does not experience a generally high F:M ratio, they should take a long hard look at their plants' environment for stress factors.

save me from STS'ing?

no thanks!
I am looking forward to it.

forget 50%, 70%, i want 100%.

while your logic makes sense to me, nature has many modes.
bees and termites have one female that produces millions of males and only a few females.
humans are pretty much 1:1
I've always assumed 1:1 for mj seeds, but i don't have any solid data to back it up.

i would have to see actual evidence.
