WheelOFortune's - first turn

pan, i am not adding any cal/mag.
last res change i ran out of Fox Farms, and i don't have much money.
so I used what i had. . . i picked up a gallon of CNS17 bllom and grow for $25 total.
anyways so i have CNS17 bloom in the res which has 2% calcium and 0.5% magnesium.

The rockwool looks like new on all sides but the top. . . on the top, there is a small amount of algea (less than one square inch) on the smal surface where the light gets to it, and this is only happening on maybe 30-40% of the cubes.

I just double checked my PH which is still at a steady 6.06. from what i can tell it isn't fluctuating much. . . however i just checked my ec, which is a whopping 2200 ppm. I am injecting co2, so that should help, but ill lower it to the 1600ppm suggested by my feeding schedule.

This yellowing has been going on for weeks though, and i am changing the res weekly. if it was deficient of something, it would make sense that it happens with every res change, but i don't think it would persist if it was just PH fluctuations or ppm.

it may also be useful to note, that there are some short plants in the wheel that didn't show signs of any yellowing until recently (this week).

It used to be only on the tops, so i thought it might be the heat wave we had 3 weeks ago when it got to be close to 100 degrees in the wheel, but it didn't go away and it has worked its way down to all of the fan leaves right to the base. And it is not all over, it clearly starts from the tip and works its way in on most leaves.

do you think i should try supplementing cal/mag?
Im not using RO btw. and my tap is about 150ppm.

thanks for your help.

Wheel I think it has to do with a calcium salt build up. Your water is considered hard anything above 80ppm is hard water in the past I had trouble with Fox Farm and hard water I recommend going to 3/4 nutes that way it should compensate for the hard water. IMO :ganjamon:

ok, so i have a friend coming in from out of town next week, and i wanted to give him a treat. Plus i usually sample a branch early. . . but since i'm only growing branches i decided to take a whole plant.

One of the big strawberry coughs had some rockwool problems and worked its way into a big hole. it would fall from side to side around the wheel, so i took this one.

I figured this would be a good opportunity to take some pics in good light, and you geys can see what the look like, and maybe could see the yellowing better too.

here is the RW:

thanks PAN, Soniq, and Haze.

hopefully she wont be harsh w/o a flush first. . . but should smoke nice.
now i can't wait to take them all. Muah ha ha ha.

i think i'm gonna get less than i hoped, but this should help me judge what i might get weight wise a little better.

I'll show her dried next week.

res change today, so i'm gonna get on that.

I have 71 girls left in the wheel after taking this girl, and all the LR#2s out.

The LR#2 male is starting to open his sacs so i will be able to cross pollinate with SC and HS very soon.

Sorry if this has already been asked but which attribute is dominant, the autoflower or the response to 12/12, when an AF is crossed with a sativa/indica?

hmm. . . i dont know yet which is dominant.

after i cross both my regular girls with the AF, i'll just have to grow out a bunch, under 24 and wait for some fems to show. as they show, ill be able to pull the ones that show the proper trait.. selecting auto genes over 12/12 genes is much easier than trying to choose say a more resenous gene over a less. even if it is recessive i figure if i grow out 10-20 over 20-30 days ill get some auto fems to breed.

ill breed those with my next strain. I think i'm just gonna buy like 50-100 fem short stuff (like snowryder) from dope-seeds. sts one, and pollinate 10-20 for seeds. hopefully get a couple thousand.
