What's In Jim's Grow Room?

I have found no dead easy organic fix. That said with a good blasting of warm water in a sink, Doc Buds leaf wash and Hydrogen peroxide I have managed to put them on the endangered species list.

Scary little buggers, aren’t they? *Shudder* I expect they’re wiped out now, but do keep spraying that new flip.

Never a dull moment in our world, is there Jim? Lol! Mites were hard-core eradication in my garden and I was on pins and needles for months. We get older and eyesight isn’t what it used to be, but by God, I can spot mite signs early..... although we both missed this one up close and personal, didn’t we?

Things like this slip through. It was a relief to see such swift resolution. :hugs:

Keep spraying. :hugs:

I sure wasn't looking for any spider mites. It was a first for me. And Royal Gorilla was hiding in one of the back corners. Back there it also doesn't get much direct air circulation and was growing so well she really didn't need any close attention. It was relatively easy to see and I'll likely take a lot of bottom leaves off early and peep at them under the 60 x scope. Looking, looking and more looking. If they continue to be an issue I'll see if a friend at the Ag supply store can score me some AVID cheap. I was also looking through the stuff I have to treat ear mites of my cats. Pyrethrins there so the stuff might work.

Remember...……..you're bigger then they are! You're stronger then they are!...…..You're smarter then they are! You can get rid of those critters.

On a happy note, I checked my cuttings this morning and found a frisky Chemdog with new roots that weren't there yesterday. That's 11 days from when I took the cuttings. Still waiting on the others but they shouldn't be too far behind.

that's about how long it takes mine maybe even a little longer chem dog good stuff!

I think I need to re-work this soil.

Your plants look great. What do you need to change in your soil mix??

Plants look GREAT. If you wanna do something about those big fat nugs taking down branches.

Add in some more Malted Barley at flip. I do about 2-3 tbs at least to my 7.5gal pot.

The stems hold until they dont. Usually 50 days for me (sans Sativa).

The Flop - is a sign of good weeds.

Embrace it with a big hug of wires and stake or something.

The Flop brother. It's a good thing.

You have mites - you will not get rid of them totally.

IPM with - Monterey Insect spray = oganic can spray day before harvest (wont need to).

1 tbs / gal water - 1x a week - no bugs
2-3 tbs /gal every other day with infestation for 2 weeks.
back to 1x a week 1tbs

They like warm and they like your plants.
They dont like cold, water and wind.

Small Fan on the soil line 24x7 + IPM

Check for them fvckers daily. Webbing is a sign they have been at it for a while 2-3 weeks easy. Why I take pics - I'm looking for them all the time.

VVV Nail it - lol! VVV

Thanks @bobrown14 . It might not need to be changed. I'm continuing to use the soil as this will be the last run before I shut down for summer.

What I've decided to do is provide the soil better nutrients and on a more consistent basis. So I started using the Nectar For The Gods (NFTG) trial package that I received last year and mixing it strictly according to their suggested formula for the stage the plants are. They say give it them two weeks to see the difference. I'm already seeing a change and I think I like it.

Flower Tent

The only thing going here is the first Royal Gorilla clone which got moved here on Jan. 20th. She was in the tent when I found the mites on her mother just before harvest. She was blasted with a foliar treatment of neem and rosemary oil. No eggs or adults have been seen upon inspection. I don't necessarily like oil residue on the leaves and at some point I'll try to wash it off.

Veg Tent

Clones of the previous run are all here. 2 Chemdawgs (HSO) are here and I'll up can one and bloom her soon. I had hoped the 2019 Chemdawg would be just as good as the 2016 harvest. This cultivar turned out to be a bit more powerful than the 2016 but it's the same strain almost exactly. Right now she is pure wild tiger piss in a quart jar. Pure chem. I love this high and she'll be kept. Her aroma is beginning to sweeten during her short cure and should be something to behold in a few weeks.

Chem 91 x Aliendog Cherry (Obsoul33t Genetics Group) is another of my favorites and comes in its own flavor of fuel, no doubt the addition of the Alien Tech genetics. She's a true chem in every way and @Pennywise surely guessed right about this one. With a bit more testing ..... I might anoint this one with some type of crown.

Sour Angel (In House Gentics) Winner in every way. You'll feel this one even if your tolerance is pretty high. I love the OG genetics here. Sour Dubb and Hell's Angels OG. I should smoke some more of this and give you a real smoke report but I'm just going by my memory which you all know is pretty bad. I do however recommend this one if you ever see a pack. That is if you enjoy fumbling with your words and don't mind having a slight balance issue while you're walking....hahaha

Royal Gorilla (Royal Queen Seeds) I need to test this further. So far she hasn't done anything to put her above the 3 mentioned earlier but there are no flies on this one either. As noted above, I have another opportunity to grow her out again a couple of times.

Gelato_O.OG (Seedsman) This is a seed plant given to me by @beez0404 who acquired it from @SeedsMan and she's an absolute beauty. I up canned her a week or so ago and she'll be progressing to the bloom tent in the coming weeks. Like the clones over here, she has a couple more weeks of veg to run. The leaves on this one overwhelm what my other plants have developed and I don't plan to top her. Next week I'll steal a couple cuts from lower branches just in case. I'm really interested in the gelato side of this cross.

It's It Punch (Sun Grown Genetics) @SweetSue thinks this is The Thing and I admit it's a fairly exciting cultivar. I traded emails with the breeder regarding the two parts of this cross. He felt that pictures of my plant exhibited a balancd amount of both the gelato and the Purple Punch and suggested the effects that Sue liked might be attributed to his gelato. In any event, this is a high powered but mellow high that will certainly be enjoyed for a while. I'm waiting for the cuts to root and she'll likely go over to the bloom room.

What else? I stay so high I'm not sure. Thanks to all for the visits and comments. I'll try to do my best with the new organic nutrients. :bongrip:

You sure do have beautiful clones. I need to learn how to get my clones to look like yours when they're that young.

Aside from other treatments you decide on, chitin source in soil is tremendous pest deterrent. Personally I use Insect Frass & Kraken on every run. Acai Berry Gelato is most sativa leaning of all Sherbinski gelatos. Sounds like you've grown some winners. :Namaste:
Well....the jury is still out on whether there are any pests remaining. The infected one was the last of 5 strains to be harvested and the first one I noticed anything not looking right.

I'm working on the assumption that the whole place is infested with those little buggers and I'll have to be diligent. All the veg girls get a spraying tonight.

I have some annual cicada skeletons from the past summers and I'll scratch some crushed skeletons into the soil. Kraken wasn't included in the sample but I'm sure I can get it if/when I need any other replacements. There's a hydro store not that far away.

I'm still on an early harvest agenda at about 80% cloudy and finding it to provide a very peppy high. I'm loving the gelato cross for sure.

Thank you again for all you've helped me with last year. I'm truly digging your west coast influence on my last grow even if it was frigged up from the move last year. This run should even everything out as it's the same genetics getting a mulligan.

Very nice selection of plants there MJ. Lots of my favs all in one room. Very nice!

Can add Neem MEAL (a few tbs scratched in) to your soil. Bugs hate that stuff but your soil microbes go wild on it.

For pests I use Spinosad - Monterey Garden Spray - 1 tbs / gal water 1x a week keeps them buggers down for the count.

It's the warmer more humid weather that gets them going again.

Here where we live they are everywhere. As soon as spring gets going they are on the move. Lucky its still winter .... or now. I'm warming up my sprayer right now.

The Monterey is organic leaves no residue - can spray up to harvest if you want.

Enjoyed the visit MJ, and thanks again for the gifts. Just finished a bowl of your Sour Angel....... wow.....wow....wowers.... a little goes a long way even with my high tolerance :yahoo:.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I too hold this one in pretty high regards...o_O

A little too much indica for me to play with Sour Angel. Lol! I’m waiting on my clone of IIP to get her going. :slide:

I’m with B.B. on the Monterey Garden Spray. That stuff kicks mite ass! I like that you’re staying diligent Jim. All it takes is one overlooked viable egg.

Don’t overlook the power of the malted barley grain and neem added as soil amendments or top dressing. That and a good topping on occasion of EWC may be the ticket to your quest to grow organic in a small pot of soil and get them through flower.

Just stopped to catch up before I fly out again. Sure is good to have another grower to cover my butt when I go running off. :battingeyelashes: I’ll see you all later. :ciao:
