What's In Jim's Grow Room?

Blue Dream Clones Flower Day 31

So today I took pics primarily of buds that were pollinated. Swollen calyxes indicate that the seed is beginning to form within. It just makes me happy. It's a little different than merely growing for super good bud.

The weather here is going to be beautiful again today. I'm going to get out there and enjoy it after I have another bowl. Gotta hope all of you are well medicated. :bongrip:

So that's where the nice weather went :D

I get that you're tired of dealing with pollen. Will you store away some of it for later use? Think it can be stored for quite some time if done right.

Blue Dream Clones Flower Day 30

Today is national Doughnut Day. I'm going to have a bowl of Rice Crispies and a banana.

I meant to mention that outdoor temperatures here have been moderate for this area but we have had some days of 90o+ F and some tent temps up to 84o F. I was thinking that this was fairly high but it's actually a nice zone for the girls.

Those blossoms are filling those gaps which is a healthy sign to me...I guess...who knows?

I've been smoking BD this morning and it really is mellow. Showered and shaved and ready to greet this day!
So here's my Blue Dream boy hero. He did such a great job. :goodjob:

But alas, his life will end soon. I'm tired of dealing with pollen.

Good to see you DeVille

Yes...we've had an incredible string of beautiful days, especially the mornings. I get up at 5 am each day so I get to see a sunrise. I need that peace in my day.

The boy is still in the small tent by himself. I used a gallon storage bag and covered a portion of him and bent that stem down into the bag and got a bunch of pollen but it sticks to the inside of the bag all over. Static electricity I guess. Anyway I used a playing card and scraped in all to the bottom and will cut that bottom out to collect it. My hand was painted with pollen.

I did separate a portion of it and folded it into a square of wax paper, taped it together, marked it and into the freezer it went. If stored in a cool dry place a few grains of rice should be added for moisture control.

What I suspect I will find later is that the 4 plants that weren't intentionally pollinated will have some stray seeds.

I had some hopes it would be possible to maybe store 3-4 different strains of male plants in the same tent, but that would mix up all the pollen I guess so you'll never know what you end up with. Hmmm. Glad I read this pollen everywhere post before I started something stupid - back to the drawing board

Shared this one with SweetSue earlier on. Took the photo this morning. that thing was huge and it made me filled with awe or something and I just had to photograph it. Wonder if it would eat my plants or not if it found it's way into my grow-rooms

You see - I found this guy in the tent the other day and I have no clue where he came from or how the h**l it got in there in the first place. :) So I guess that means any bugs or creatures can get into my garage. Luckily the main grow-room is hermetically sealed with bug-filters and so on. Think I have to do the same with the tents.

I may be silly, but I rather not cause any harm to creatures as a result of my cannabis production. I think I rather make it impossible for them to get in in the first place than having to kill any beings :)

Sorry about blabbering in your journal by the way. A little bit too high today

Blabber all you wish. You do have some unusual animal there and you say you don't know where it came from? My cat brings me lizards all the time.

Blue Dream Clones Flower Day 36

There is that certain period on every grow where it's just hard to see progress. I'd like to speed through this but we all know part of life or part of a grow simply requires patience. All over I keep seeing new lights and I wonder if they would spare me from a little boredom in each grow.

In any event here we are. They are all beautiful flowers and that's the objective. Timing is fairly good as next watering is full strength bloom nutes and maybe a little molasses.

I cropped the center of that photo and attempted to magnify it slightly

Any special lights in mind? There sure is a bunch of nice stuff on the market now.

Been wondering a lot about the perfect sun. There is a thread here on 420 named something like "how to beat a 1000 watt HPS" with only 500 some watt. Been wondering if his claims hold up in reality. If they do it sure is an interesting light.

Just subbed this mate there looking beautiful if you don't mind me saying that about your ladies, after seeing this I was wondering as ATM on my first grow I got 4 pheno or photo but seeing yours made me think how many of those beauties would you flower in a 1.2m x 2.4m I think it's about 6 ft high or a touch more

I haven't studied them at all. I really should be very satisfied with my Mars Hydro. I'm currently using my older light for this grow and there are quite a few LEDs that are out. I have some replacements but I think they're all blue spectrum. I really have other demands on my money at the moment. Water pump just let go on my truck....

Looks like they are progressing just fine to me. Beautiful buds Jim.

Cheers

Thanks Ditch. I needed that more than you know.

Wow....that's a lot of grow space. I chose 1 gallon pots here just because of the seeds project. Well, it must have made some sense to me several months ago when I started the clones. My next project will be 4 photos in 7 1/2 gallon softees.

If I had your space you could do twice that many.

I'm extremely happy with my Mars-Hydro's. Just like to keep updated and always interesting when people make "impossible" claims. I highly doubt you can beat a 1000 watt HPS with a 500 watt LED, but I would love to be proven wrong.

They're mechanical constructions full of parts which all have more or less different life expectancy. That makes them break down now and then. It's sadly unavoidable. Happens to even the best of us :)

What is it with vehicles breaking down at the moment, duggan truck first, then my car now your truck. What's going in? :passitleft:

Same sadly applies to LED lights. They're full of parts that breaks down eventually. That brings me back to something that should maybe count when one select a new light. How easy are they to repair? That's what I love the most about the Mars Pro series. Extremely easy to repair. Anyone can do it at home and all you need is a screw-iron. I wrote a review of their customer service when one of my 320's broke down.

Blue Dream Clones Flower Day 38

I took pictures this morning so I might as well update. The girls got fed yesterday 3 tsp Big Bloom and 1 tsp Tiger Bloom in a gallon of water spread throughout the tent. The seeded girls are being treated the same as the others as for nutrients. I do hope I see some growth of these buds with this feeding. The apical buds are plenty big but I just want to see them get bigger. We shall see.

I saved myself $75 this morning. The water pump in my truck ruptured this past week and I asked the fellow who operates the repair shop to tow it in for me. Last night it occurred to me that I have a roadside assistance plan through my Verizon cell service. Anyway, I called those folks up and truck was gone in about 30 minutes. Those folks get 5 stars from me.

So anyway....here's some pics
