Wow! That's a long time to be keeping a strain like that going.
Yep. My grandfather left them to me. He was a general in the army and collected all over africa. All my landraces are from around that time.

I've just pollinated two of her branches. One with sticky xwild male and the other with the Transkei male. The transkei male was only because they are both such strong growing plants and it's likely going to be a goodie. I want to harvest the big lady as well as the seeds but mostly because I want to see her finished and tested as well as for herms. Better to check first before investing time to make a couple hundred or thousand seeds. And then they are kak. I've got some monster crops rooting and pollen in the freezer so I'll be good to start in a month or so.

That's really cool. One of my closest friends is from S Africa, he served as well. He tells me about the good weed he smoked growing up. All I smoked was mexican brick weed, lol.

Hi LR. How do you check for hermes when making seed and breeding? I would like to work with the seed that is coming from Mama TK x Studley if I can. Do you have an online guide to recommend, or could you perhaps explain please? Like a step by step instruction... is there such a thing?

Thanks mate. I'd appreciate that.
OK so here is the deal... your female is stable enough, well looks that way. The male is stable. You should be fine to go. The only real way that I know of to test if any hermie genes were passed on is to grow out about 10 to 20 seeds and see how they do and how they make it to the finish.I think you will be OK but when dealing with african sativas it's always a possibility. Out of 10 you should be able to find some that are stable and doing what you want then to do. Those you can clone and keep any manly males to repollinate your chosen females. Each time you do this you will lock in a bit more of the desired traits.
So when my Transkei seeds are done I'll pop a tribe of them and choose the best females and then pollinate those with studly again.
Hope that makes some sense.
Long story short is to grow them out.
It's a long process but if you want quality plants it's gotta be done.

Hey buds. Just a quick few pics of my clones. 11 out of 11 rooted. As expected miss sticky rooted the fastest with plenty roots. All been potted into 1lt bags and chilling under the cfls.
2 x wild lady , 2 x transkei ,3 x sticky and 4 x lc18 (durban x Durban)
Have an epic weekend.
