Welcome All My Friends To The Show That Never Ends - Canna M & Nismo12 Team Up!

Yeah dude! We have been wanting to do it and we were waiting to run out of soil lol. We use promix currently but are switching to the high porosity version for the kit. Also wanted to get the handle on growing...and I think we have the jist of it figured out anyways. It'll almost be like learning to walk again since we have to change the way we handle things. I'm sure we will have plenty of guidance. :thumb:

Ya' know...I almost hate to admit it, but I've been looking at Doc Bud's kit for quite some time, now, and will be trying it at some point, too.

I've already had several conversations with Doc about this and what I told him is that, I always looked at soil vs. hydro as gardening/farming vs. science, and being a "science guy" I was very attracted to hydro. That being said, Doc has really turned soil growing into a science and there's no arguing with the results he and others have been getting.

I've already referred several soil growers to Doc and would highly recommend his kit & methods for anyone growing in soil.

Yeah, I kind of jumped right in for my second grow. I'm glad I did. If something did go wrong, there would be a lot of people on the case. I just let go and asked duggan to guide me step by step. It was the best decision I've made. With your growing skills, you guys shouldn't need much help. It's so freaking easy, it's hard to believe. Would be interesting to get a side by side with your tranquility device to see if there's a difference with the water.
Are you guys going to start another journal when you get the kit cooked?

Can you tell I'm excited for you two?

Well I honestly don't think it'll be too difficult. I've been reading docs Q and A quite a bit and also I follow a ton for brixers on here. So the knowledge will be there but will just have to put it to work.

Right now we have a side by side of the tranquility device and regular tap water and the tranquility is in the lead by quite a bit. Now as for their brix levels I'll have to check them. But our cheese in flower about 2 weeks ago had a brix of 18 or 19 so I would say that is pretty high lol. According to doc that's high brix territory so it must be doing something.

As for the journal we have actually discussed it but it would be hard to give up the following of this journal and start over (granted some if not most would come for that one). Almost 40,000 views in under 100 days is pretty sweet lol. I think we will see about changing the name of the journal to add DBHBB to it. Wish we could make a cool play on words like everyone else has. :laughtwo: I planned on starting a new one at the first of the year for the mighty year long flux of 2017. She would deserve her own Stage.

Oh and we are up there with the excitement about this with you.

I think the highest brix Doc has achieved has been around 17 or 18, so you might not even need the kit! :thumb:

I'll check it again tonight just to make sure and snap a picture of the calibration and after. We checked the two we harvested last night and they were at 11. Maybe it is just strain related as well.

Fun fact - raisins have a brix as high as 60!

Here are a couple of posts from the Doc including on how he does his Brix testing:

9 or 10 is NOT high brix. That's exactly what I'm referring to.

We're hitting 17 on some plants. 12 is the minimum bar. You're not going to be able to get your levels up with a homebuilt soil unless you test it.

You're in mineralized organic soil. That's not a bad thing. It's great! But high brix it is not.

Tips for a good measurement:

Use only super healthy tissue, grind it up immediately after taking it from the plant using a mortar and pestle. You must get the intercelluar juices for a proper reading.

Include apical tissue down to the first fan leaf, with petiole and you'll be measuring the same way I do.

Brix of 12 or above will mean significant decrease in pests and very strong plants. Bakery smell starts at around 15-16. Crazy, stupid good at 17 or above. I've never broken 18 myself.

Finally making the rounds and so stoked you two will be kit growing! For sure we will watch over you and Doc is always in the shadows (kind of eerie isn't it?)
You guys will have to make one adjustment and keep more fans and everything will work out great. It's a slight adjustment but because the kit works with foliars you need a lot of foliage lol. But just wait! My fav example is this.

You get home from a night on the town and check the plants. You know they will be fine but then...oh no they need a watering!ph so you fill up some buckets and add 3 part nutrient, add silica, add booster, humid acid, carbohydrates, and then pH down while stirring and measuring. Ugh! What a drag!

Same situation with the Doc's kit...fill buckets, drizzle tea, plop in some GE drench, and water. Done. Easy Peasy nice and sleazy. So excited for you both!

Hey gang...just a little heads up with all the talk of brix levels etc. No one has mentioned one critical thing....those numbers Doc. is referring:circle-of-love: to are in the VEG. stage...not in bloom ...in bloom the brix levels shoot up ...you wanna take em in veg. This will give you a better idea. Follow Doc's guidance on where and how on the plant but it's critical to do it in veg. You'l get a better idea of the true Brix levels...ie...shiny, waxy leaves deep into veg. Cheers everyone....!

Oh ya C & N goin DBHBB...BOUT TIME! :wood::wood::)

Well...seems I've decided to drop by just in time...harvest time...and pineapple chunk to boot!!(luv's those big buds!)...not to mention your upcoming foray into HB...I'm getting more and more interested in Docs kits...seeing what you're doing currently...it will be fun to follow the new adventure...Cheerz...h00k...

Yeah it is an exciting week right now and it seems that we always have something going on around here. We pick up a lot of what we have learned from around these journals and in here with all of the great people. Today we are talking about the kit and boy oh boy is that exciting. I wish we would have started with it originally but we didn't know any better. Now we know and hopefully it all works out for us better than we could hope. The way the HB gang talks about the taste and smells makes it difficult not to steal the keys to duggan's DeLorean and fly ahead in time for our first harvest with it.

Hope you enjoy your stay around these parts, here are some welcoming party favors. :passitleft: :bong: RoorRip: party: :blunt: :volcano-smiley:

Just keep your meat maulers off my DeLorean keys!:blunt:

sent from my DeLorean...in the future....:smokin:

Ive been to your first DBHBB harvest.....hahha....you guys better throw those throat lozenges out....your not gonna need em with this produce! Nis got a cramp in his face from smiling so much during the trim session. Now don't go and do something so he won't get those cramps Canna...it'l mess with that space , time thing.....OK that's enough from the DeLorean!:circle-of-love:

Update

Tonight we will take a quick stroll through everything since it is a busy night. I enjoyed all of the conversation today on here about DBHBB as it has a great support group and well...it works. So we are looking forward it.

Today we will start out in the breeding tent. Today is day 3 of 12/12 and day 24 of spraying CS. She has started showing her dude parts and lots of them. Quite the sight to see.

Then we have the Carnival and the purple kush that will be getting the pollen.

STS supplies (silver thiosulfate)

Then into the veg room we had to do what had to be done. The DWC Cheese clone was huge and she was 5 weeks old. I mean...she grew a lot faster than what we have room for.

Then it happened. We cleared up a ton more light space and we have an idea for the DWC bucket...more on that later this week hopefully. But Cheese 2.0 had beautiful healthy roots and you really can't ask for a better plant...just grew too damn fast. Sigh.

DSC_082211.JPG

So this is how the veg room is sitting as we speak. Everyone is growing quite well and is as healthy as can be.

Then into the flower room. I didn't get a picture of our Carnival before putting her into the flower room yesterday so here she is. Sorry it is a horrible picture, lights were about to turn off and the flash makes the pictures even worse.

Then the door shot on the way out.

Tonight was just a quick stroll through this evening. I'm thinking that this will be a very good week for us. 3 harvests and possibly some pollination. Everyone have a great night, we shall see you all in the morning.:rollit::passitleft:

Looking well in the basement you two.

Re: Welcome All My Friends To The Show That Never Ends - Canna M & Nismo12 Team Up!

Congrats on the harvest! Do you have a specific plan for how it will all be used,or do you wait for a dry and cure and based on smoke quality, then decide?

Are you using the root ball for anything?

Also, I'm just wondering which one this is?

Keep on rocking you two, you kick ass!

Edit: Also, any suggestions on where to start with DBHBB? I wonder what the differences are from the Kind Soil thing I'm trying out.
