One thing that has been tickling our brains is how we are going to cool the room over the winter. Since right now we are using the duct work and the AC from the house. We were thinking of a portable AC unit. Roughly 15,000 BTU should do it. I would want to oversize it so it wouldn't be running constantly and dehumidifying the room. I am bringing this up since I do believe making the room more reflective would make it so it would be hotter in there. Right now I am surprised with the fact that it is staying perfect temps without having control over it.


We also did some research on making/obtaining/purchasing packaging for seeds, you know just in case we want to sell seeds or something later on. Found some awesome pictures and came up with some awesome ideas on names and such. The artwork and drawing we have taken care of by a friend here...just need to source a printer to make the packaging.

Time to go chop and hang some plants!
 
Mornin C & N ! With your walls....long time ago i did a little research on reflective mat'l. etc...i found that the best surface for growing and reflecting light is FLAT white paint! Works well...doesn't "hide" mold and is washable. can't beat it! One gal. of flat whit latex.....do it!:thumb::high-five:

Ok friends! It's time for the Brain Tickler of the day.
I have a 2 or 3 pipes I use as a go to for various reasons. They get all clogged up with that goey resin that drips to the bottom of the bowl chamber. As kids, broke, and bud less, we would scrape that resin out of that chamber, then put it in the bowl and smoke that. The high you got from it was great, but tasted awful. My best guess as to what it is, is decarbed weed at a high heat, concentrated oil.

Now here is when it gets tricky. Can that resin be scraped out of the bowl, diluted with alcohol to kill any funkiness, then reduced to make cco that could be beneficial in a capsule form made with Sue's recipe to have for medecine?
Or would it be useless since it in a way was "flash decarbed" and just a byproduct of the smoking process??
 
I think the white paint idea is great.
I'd suggest gloss. Easy to wipe down
and see mould and or dirt.
Reflective materials can be mounted to panels to be hung or set up in your room. That way you can clean behind them.
Having worked in restaurants, here's a couple of cleaning solutions.
9 parts water 1 part bleach in a spray bottle. Mark the bottle. Spray on walls let dry. We'd do this on counters, then wipe them down in the AM.
It won't stink of bleach either.
8 parts water 2 parts vinegar in a spray bottle. Use like bleach sanitizer.
More safer on wooden surfaces.
Bakers use this especially on wooden counters. You can let dry. Safe.

100 IPA.
8 parts water and 2 parts
99% Isopropal Alcohol.
Good for hard surfaces.
Can be used to wipe down clippers, too.

Nis and I just read this ant it's also a great idea. I was wondering how easily the flat paint would wash compared to the gloss paint, and which would be more beneficial compared to the reflectiveness.
 
Use FLAT white....ya don't want it to be shiny. It will still wash up good...just get the washable stuff!:high-five:

Don't go with gloss. Yes, easy to wipe down, but inefficient as a light reflective surface. You want ultra-white, flat. It's actually one of the best choices you can make for the grow space. Gloss paints create hot spots.

I always clean the stem with some 90% ISO and just yesterday I was looking at the oil seeping through to the outside thinking I should be able to reduce this down to usable oil. It would work in capsules. You game Canna? I'll clean mine, you clean yours, we'll report the results here later?

Game on Sweet one!! We are on our way to the store for some 180 proof grain alcohol. I'm going to use this reclaimed oil for probably a 7:1 mix this time, and use the 00 capsules. Should I use coconut oil or the olive oil, or both. Olive oil for oral use and the coconut oil for suppositories?

I've been thinking about this on for some time now. Resin was never mentioned ever. I thought it was maybe a taboo subject. But with getting to know Sue more, I know she hates to waste even one bit of this glorious plant. If there was anyone willing to try it, she'd be the one to try it with me.

That's what it's all about, just finding ways to use every part of the plant. I think you two could definitely could make something happen with that though. I hope I will get to see you guys do it!

I don't recommend this, but if you decide to try, please let us know how it turns out.

I have read of several people trying this, and I don't think a single one was happy with the results. While pipe resin does have some small amounts of THC, it's mostly stuff like tar that you wouldn't want anyway.

When you're 16, have no money and no weed, smoking resin makes a lot of sense.

While I don't want to discourage anyone from experimenting, with all the quality buds you all have to work with, I can't believe it will even be worth the effort to extract the small amounts of THC available.

I like the way you catch on Canna. You can use either oil for the suppositories, so I'd stick with coconut to keep your lives less cimplicated. Olive oil is suggested for edibles that you want to bypass the liver for the first-pass.

Make it a 5:1. 7:1 is just confusing. :laughtwo: Just kidding. It wouldn't hurt at all to play with that ratio. The posted ratios are to more closely control doses. You don't have to be so concerned with that. I'm thinking it's time I tried a suppository.
 
As Krip said...it's the bad stuff in the "tar" that'l not be goin down my bags! Would you guys get that tested before consuming it? Just sayin ....play safe. :circle-of-love:

I am with Mr. Krip.
Once upon a time, I was the best at recovering resin from pipes. I can totally get behind re-smoking it, but not sure about anything else. Now the older me, I klean my Mrs pipes with ISO, pipe cleaners and hot water. I discard it all. But when times are tough, I save it for her to smoke.

Good point K. I'm still going to clean and evaporate out the solvent just to see what I get. It's a shame we can't get it tested. I've done another questionable oil pull and in the end couldn't make myself use it for anything. That may be the case here as well. It'll be a fun Saturday afternoon adventure, if nothing else.
