We will have 3 different strains to try! Then I'm guessing we will be harvesting 2 autos and 3 photos in the next 10 days. Then atleast 3 photos and 2 autos will take their place in the flower room. Might have to pack them in tight. On a new strain I can never resist the temptation to take a branch!
Hey there Duggan. You have been missed, but its ok. Life happens to all of us. I've been somewhat absent lately also. It happens.Morning Canna....why havn't I been here....I'm such an ass !
Anyhow , have an awesome day Canna and friends!
I need more time....
arteekay do you happen to know what the ideal temp that could be, sir ?She's planned for harvest next weekend. It's a bit earlier than breeder timelines, but they do give a range for her. I'd agree she's a bit more challenging than some of the other CKS auto strains, picky... but she'll still give us better than 6 ounces I'll bet.
Our next one will be thinned out more, defoliated less, and we'll respond quicker if she starts showing signs of toxicity and/or light bleaching.
We're doing single plant harvests on a perpetual auto grow and have started bud washing two or three harvests ago. With three (now two dammit) pets in the house the amount of floating hair is astronomical, and despite our efforts our flowers always have a few random hairs. We don't do any foliars though.
For hair and dust, we find it works reasonably well enough to continue, and hasn't affected our buds in any appreciably negative way. Really the water acts on buds a lot like it does off a duck's back. Next to none of it is actually absorbed, but it's also only able to work on loose material on the surface. A hair that lands when flowers are forming is locked into place once the calyx on either side swells up.
Not mentioned enough in discussions about bud washing is the temp. Too warm and we risk melting waxes, too cold and we risk making unscreened bubble hash in the bottom of our buckets.
Ok Miller, Krip, Nis. Why when people do bud washes do they use an acid and an alkaline to clean them? Are they in seperate buckets? It makes no sense to me to use both in the same bucket. Don't they kind of cancel each other out?
Water temperature feels different than air temps. Pools are kept in the 70s and hot water heaters are usually kept 120s or so. I would go right in the middle at 90 and consider it "Luke warm". I would think that would be a good range. 80s- 90. Won't be freezing the trichomes off the buds and you won't be melting the oils. Seems legit lolI just got some hand/dish soap with baking soda and lime in it. Fusion clean or something they call it.
It reminded me of the bud wash mix so I got it. I dunno why.
I have never seen an exact temperature for the wash water. But I use not too hot that I can keep my hand in it without too much problem. If that makes any sense.

Yes Nis, you are correct! When using Doc's method to wash your buds ....it's extremely important to NOT use water that is too warm....remember what happens to resin when it's heated up....a big friggen mess happens...always use luke warm or even a lil cooler than that , just don't make it freezing cold for fear of knocking off some gland heads while you shake them in the buckets. Cheers gang!
Most of the buds smell sweet and there is one the smells like a dirty sock lol. The pineapple chunk smells amazing. Now you are counting from the time you flipped or did you wait until buds showed? If that's the case she will start being flushed and sledgehammered.Your fruit punch should be really close. Mine was perfect at 56 days. Does she smell sickeningly sweet, like Hawaiian fruit punch syrup?
tx420!Subbed. Really interested in Pineapple Chunk. That's on my list!

What's up bro? I'll take that and pass it on to the next one through the journal. Thanks Stage!Good afternoon Canna and Nismo!
Take that....
We will be sure to take plenty of samples to make sure it tastes like a good dirty sock. Lol!!From flip.
A dirty sock? Nasty. That's an oil plant unless it smokes like the best dirty socks ever.
I'm not a fan of the peanut butter smelling ones when they pop up, though I like peanut butter.
