I think I do a pretty good job at maximizing space.

Yes 4 1000w ballasts and AC DE hoods. It was my first time with 4 lights in this room and did a shitty job training the plants into the screen. The tops were getting too hot. But I rented some fun tools today to check leaf temp and PAR to dial in my lights some more.

Oh yeah PAR meter is great thing to have. Over a 1000 you need CO2 to really make a use of all the light. Good job! :Namaste:

Perfect! That's just what I wanted to hear. I'm getting about 1000 mm. It's winter here so I pull air from my attic to cool my room and it's exhausted via carbon filter through the lights. I do supplement w two CO2 bags but they are probably doing little even with them oversized for my room.

I've never heard of a co2 bag. What is that?

Pretty sweet set up, btw!

Co2 bags or buckets are sold to raise the co2 in an area. I looked into them but I think they would only do good in a 4x4 tent or smaller. Not to worry love, we will have co2 in a couple months. Add that to my wish list would ya?

Co2 adds roughly 10% - 20% increase in bud size and you have to have the room 80-84 degrees. So the cost of co2 will offset the cost of AC.

Say we pull 3 lbs off one grow without co2...it would have been closer 4 lbs with co2. Well worth it in my opinion.

You also rise the CO2 whenever you are in the room with the girls. Some ppl have open flame in the room with girls, that helps too. :Namaste:

Re: Welcome All My Friends To The Show That Never Ends - Canna M & Nismo12 Team Up!

Good afternoon everyone. Sorry there haven't been any updates lately as nothing was going on...except the fact that our flower room is completely empty other than the flux. Reason being is that the spider mites came back with vengeance. Didn't hit the flux very bad but all the others were covered over night almost it seemed. We picked up 4 cans of doktor doom and are going to clean the room and bomb...then clean again. Never had a problem with bugs before until recently. Thought we got rid of them by using multiple sprays including SNS. They were gone for a bit but came back. In the veg room the strawberry cake has them. The blue dream barely does and the rest are fine. All of the plants in flower were not kit soil.

That's where the idea of cloning the bigger plants and running a large scrog came from. Have to get a plan on how we will run things in the future. Maximizing our space to get the most out of it. So the first of the year I planned on cutting clones off the blue dream, strawberry cake, and a crown royale. The rooms will be cleaned, so I was hoping to be able to clean the clones as well. What would be safe to "dunk" them in and not kill them but get rid of what's left of the mites. Suggestions?

:bong:

So onto a better part of the island...

It's fluxing crazy in here!

Then onto the breeding grounds. This is a sight to see. Today is day 24 in flower and s/he is looking fantastic. The male side is just amazing. The pollen sacs have swelled and are full of pollen.

Things on the female side are looking even better. Frosting up and being purple. The overall health of this plant is amazing. She was in her own environment for the most part and has thrived. Can't wait to see what comes of it.

So things will be better in the new year around these parts. Just need to wait for a batch to cook a few more weeks. Just ordered more kit stuff, in bulk this time, for our future endeavors.

Have a great night everyone. :48

Morning C & N...my thoughts on extra CO2.....NOT NEEDED! :) Just make sure your bringing in fresh air is all. Remember when using CO2 your exhaust fan is getting rid of it faster than any bag or tank can supply! Just my 2....tried it a long time ago and gave it up for it was toooo much fu...n around for very little pay back! Look at my GR....does it look like they are CO2 deficient? :blunt: Cheers gang!

Morning duggan. Was just considering the co2 is all. The exhaust would be an issue so we would have to figure that out. Still considering the pros and the cons about it.

But as for washing all of the dead bugs and eggs off of clones...any suggestions on what to clean them with? Was thinking of just dunking them into a bucket of water, giving them a swirl and then putting them in the cloner. Nothing wrong with a good bath right?

Have a good day bud. :passitleft:

if you run CO2, you only exhaust/exchange air during lights off, otherwise ur just whistlin dixie

agree with duggan tho, co2 is probably overrated, especially in small setups. I'd say about equally underrated is fresh air exchange. The nice thing about NOT running CO2 is that you can essentially keep a constant flow of fresh air into the room even during lights on, thus providing a constant refill on even low co2 levels as teh plants eat it. You wouldnt believe how many problematic rooms I've been in where I get a blank look when I ask about their in/out solutions and fresh air exchange.

also the open flame mention, yes, this is the basic function of a co2 generator.

fwiw I DO run co2, but I have a sealed building, use a tank about every 7-10 days.

fwiw ps. there are quite a few non harmful and popular remedies you could add to your clone dunk besides water (sellers soap, neem, etc). Also keep in mind that this is about as far away from harvest as you can get, usually this is when even the most "organic" farmers bust out the big guns to truly eradicate pests (eagle 20, avid, etc). If theres a time to get serious with the poison, its now or never.

afaik iirc Doc eagle20 dips his clones (eagle20 is the gnarliest shit I know of, I dont even like to look at the bottle)

Yeah the controller would only put out co2 when the lights are on and when the exhaust isn't running. I looked at a co2 burner yesterday and runs off natural gas which is perfect since we have a gas line in the flower room. Comes with a controller as well. $500 for the pair so it's something to think about. The room will be completely sealed before co2 is thought of. Now are you using a high pressure bottle like a 100# bottle? What ppm do you have it at? 1000-1500?

Ya the burner is the way to go for sure, pennies on teh dollar. I'm not sure the size of the tanks I use, they are about 2 feet tall and I get refills at the grow store. I think my on/off is set about 1650ppm or something, the xtra 150 over 1500 is probably a dumb waste but w/e.

A 20# bottle is what I'm thinking you have. A 100# is roughly 4' tall.

I'll look into the eagle 20. Just didn't know how crazy we could get with them. I'm tired of those little shits creating a mess in there. Like you said, the time is now.
im thinking a tent w/ an inline fan you need to time the CO2 when fan is off, no? :)
Exactly. Otherwise you are just exhausting your money. So in our big room I think we can shut off the exhaust for an hour at a time a few times a day and the ac will keep up heat wise. Something to consider. Just need to pull a couple extra zips to make it worth it and I personally think it would. For a small tent I would consider the bags or the bucket version of co2 like we talked about yesterday.
