Welcome All My Friends To The Show That Never Ends - Canna M & Nismo12 Team Up!

HELP! Cana and Nis, I apologize for the invasion but I know someone here will confirm my suspicions. Is the brown discoloration on this bud rot? It's dry, brown and crumbles off when I drag my finger over it. If confirmed, do I need to throw everything out or can it be cut out and the rest harvested?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance.
Can you snip that top off and get a closer shot of the dark stuff?

I have not experienced it first hand...but... It looks very similar to pics and description I have looked at...I would say say cull that bud, and be vigilant...it spreads quickly...may not be necessary to hack the whole crop... Use disinfected scissors to cut out rotting buds. Also be very careful not to touch healthy buds with your infected hands. Check every day for bud rot and cut out infected buds immediately!...Good Luck...h00k...

Hey guys we're just dropping by to see how things are going and the ladies are looking awesome! Hope all goes well with your battle, sucks to hear of the problem but please keep us updated on what you use to solve this issue. We are waiting on a kit from Doc and want to try a HB run to see how it goes. Our autos are doing there thing pretty well and are starting to show some sugar, the photos are just now beginning to show bud. Hope the autos are done in just a few more weeks but we will see.

How's the seed making coming along? Hope it's going great!!!

Blessed buds our friends

What he said. Do NOT "crumble" the bud/etc. in your grow room (or your house, for that matter), as spores can spread easily. Consider visiting Sierra Natural Science's website. They're one of our long-time sponsors and, their products are natural/organic (most, if not all, of their products are certified organic). In addition to their pest control, growth/bloom supplements, and Perfect Mix three-part liquid nutrients, they also carry several fungicide products for fungus, mold, and mildew control. They have four free sample kits (customer just pays S&H), and one of them contains a couple of their fungicides. Generally, by the time you see evidence of it, spores have already been distributed everywhere.

Thanks Cana, Hook and TS. Per Cana's request here are some hopefully better pictures. The first is of the bud on the plant and the second is where I rubbed the brown with my finger and it sort of crumbled off.

I can only see a few spots like this on the 3 outdoor plants. All plants are close to harvest so I'm thinking if this isn't mold and I can cut out the nugs with rot, I should just do it now. I saw your comments about a clean scissors and not to touch anything. The plants are really sticky so it's messy.

My other worry which I think is paranoia is in this picture. Is it simply a spider web?????

I really do appreciate the help and advice!!!! I am not letting any of this in the grow tent, I'll dry it in my pole shed then jar it. I'm just want to make sure I can harvest what looks good. :Namaste::thanks:

This is what cola infected with bud rot looks like... If it's this bad then the whole plant needs to go. In this case I was lucky enough to save the rest of the plants...

The spider web looking stuff may be more of the mould spores. On the infected bud above, I kept the rest of the plant separate from the others, harvested and dried. Jarred for curing. A couple of days later the buds were literally covered in little 'web' type strands. It all went on the wood-burner...

That's some really good info Mono! Thanks for taking the time to help out. I never would have thought those were spores.

Have a puff just because.

:passitleft: Fruit Punch today

Bud rot sucks. It'd be different if you dropped a seed and BAM there it was, lol - but, no, you put forth the time / money / effort / space in your vegetative area / space in your flowering area / light(/electricity) / nutrients / care / hope and then there it is.

Hery Mono, thanks for the information. My buds are not nearly as bad as the one in your picture however I'm guessing they could progress to that. I just snipped every "brown" looking bud off wiping my hands and the scissors with alcohol between each. Most of the brow was on inside lower popcorn buds but the tips of some upper buds had it too. I removed them all. On one of my plants I maybe removed a gram or two. The other two plants looked pretty good but I did snip some stuff off one of those.
The white spider-web looking stuff was in just one spot so I clipped that as well.

I sort of expected a problem with these outdoor plants as we had a nasty wet summer. My original plan was to move the plants into my pole shed for bad weather however that at the time seemed like too much work. In hindsight I should have stuck with that plan.

Thanks again!

This has to be one of the best threads on 420 right now. Never before have I seen so much actual information and positive vibes from an online community.

Canna, Nis, you guys are awesome for documenting your in depth grow and for spending tons of your precious free time talking to us noobs.

Just wanted to say I'm truly thankful and happy by the experience I've had on this thread thus far (page 90ish)

I've got a 3' pole with a handle on one side, a hook on the other. Takes 4 seconds to slide my plants under shelter. I've gone out at 3 am, bare as Nis, rain starting to pour, and slid em under the shelter. My wife thinks I'm nuts, but... Looking at that Nasty BR, I'm glad I've been vigilant. And, so far, with 2 week's til harvest, I'm rot free!

I would love to see more pictures of ur structure

So much to learn....so many journals to follow

Well, stop on by anytime. I've a short journal and there's a few picks of my pallet palace, Hippie style!
Bumbles Desert Oasis - The Mystery Seeds - Volume 1

Have you thought about creating a .SIG ("signature" - a bit of text/etc. that appears at the bottom of each of your posts), and including a link to your journal in it? That would help others find it. If you are unsure how to do so, someone would be happy to help with it.
