Welcome All My Friends To The Show That Never Ends - Canna M & Nismo12 Team Up!

Great job on the flux. I sure would like a wedge of that Cheeezyumm man it sure looks like tasty treat.
Have fun and enjoy your day. It's crappy here today. Sunny in the garden though.

Flux looks amazing nis. The fluxing looks cool but it seems as though there is a great deal of time spent healing after all the training that is done. I would think you could have harvested two plants in the time you have invested into just this one. Let's hope it pays off in the long run.

Cheers brotha

Yeah it does take quite a lot of time healing since you are always taking the oldest growth off. But we will have 28 massive Colas. I've started tip spreading again so we can get another 6"-7" of tight nodes so they will be huge and dense. There will not be any popcorn or fluff on that girl.

Oh, I have no doubt you will pull some nice buds off this baby. You should get over a half p after its all said and done. That's impressive in itself.

WOWwhat a great lookin flux!:bravo: I wish that my semi-flux looked half that good although mine is outside where it's harder to control. I can't get the tight node spacing even with tip spreading. Beautiful plants you have.:goodjob:

Re: Welcome All My Friends To The Show That Never Ends - Canna M & Nismo12 Team Up!

Well since I have ya here I might as well share our sad Afghani reg story. She is 2 months old from seed and has the flattest most even canopy without any training and she is a male. We have been searching everyday for preflowers and were hoping for pistils. Well today I put the macro lens on the camera to see if we could see anything. Well I think we have a dude. But the entire thinking of this plant was to do grafting on her. I'll have to go read through Light Addict's thread since I think he used a male for grafting. Need to see how that worked out.

Bummer. Any reason you didn't lop off a tiny little branch, root it, and stick it in flower in order to determine the sex? Or to cover one that was still attached for 12 hours per day (yeah, that's a RPitA and I don't recommend it even for stay-at-homes)?

I would be afraid of using a male plant for grafting stock. Specifically, I would be afraid that I'd end up with a wonderful, bushy result... and that there'd be some "sprout" hidden under all the grafts that produced male flowers. I've, uhh... had some bad luck once or twice with pollen getting onto my sinse, lol.

Speaking of males... You mentioned something in a previous post about stopping the CS treatment because you thought some of the male flowers had opened? I'd think that you could stop the treatment just as soon as the plant produced those male flowers. l don't think a treated plant (or at least the site of the male flowers) is ever going to "revert" to normalcy. I could be mistaken, of course...

Well in all honesty it's the first time a regular seed was planted and I wanted it to be a surprise. Well and it was the fact we were in denial that we kept waiting. Its kinda disappointing. Oh well.

The bright side is the possibilities of crosses I saved pollen from my male Pennywise and am going to pollinate a branch of each girl with it. I am exited to see how the Bubba x Pennywise turns out.

I know that some people decide that they do not wish to know the sex of their unborn children, lol - but in that case, they (one presumes) will love that child just as much regardless of whether it's a girl baby or a boy baby.

That's what I was going to suggest. If you have an appropriate area where you can allow some of the male flowers (of which there would potentially be many) to mature and then collect the pollen, it can be stored in the freezer in a reasonably airtight container. Those plastic cylinders that one gets with rolls of film will work... but perhaps for something as small and easy to distribute as pollen, a small container that has a threaded top would be better, as opening one of those will not give the "pop" that a press-to-fit, stoppered, or vacuum-type container would. Also, you can cut pollen with a suitable substance to make it "go" farther, because even the relatively small amount that you'd pick up with, say, an artist's paint brush would tend to contain enough pollen to fertilize hundreds of flowers if spread out amongst them. Flour should be fine (both it and the pollen keep under the same dry conditions, so no worries there).

Been a long time since I grew a good Afghani indica. I could use one now, as sleep rarely comes without a struggle these days.

 These are true words of wisdom and could not have been said better by Plato, Confucius, Nietzsche, Camus or any of the other great philosophers! +REPS! :bravo:

You got a point there! Wise as always T.Soul ++ reps for you

I admit that, as a boy (and more recently), I used to read the great philosophers like other kids read comic books. But I think this might be the first time that anyone ever inferred that any of it might have rubbed off on me. I know you were joking and all, but sometimes compliments are few and far between, so I'll take that one (thanks).

And thanks to everyone (this thread or whichever) who has chosen to click on one of those little stars at the bottom of my posts and add to my reputation points. I noticed earlier today (err... yesterday, oops, way past my bedtime!) that my reputation point total had grown.

Hey Brother, it WAS a compliment! You expressed that in such a beautifully simplistic way that anyone could understand - it was fantastic! :welldone:

I may have been exaggerating only a little bit by putting it in the class of Plato & Nietzsche, but it certainly was wisdom and eloquence far above & beyond, for example, what I would get in a fortune cookie! :)

On the CS use:

It's cheap insurance to spray until you get a couple pods open and pollen for sure. They will stop making the pods and pollen if you stop too early. But what IS 'too early' from strain to strain? The ethylene block must be in place through the maturation of the pollen. Other wise you get no pollen release OR 'hollow' pollen, pollen that does not produce a seed at all. The plant will end up sort of stuck in that state. My first CS plants come to mind.

Cheap and easy insurance. Don't short yourself the pollen after all the work.

Looking forward to that breeding update.
