GREAT QUESTION BWC!! Flushing drains the soil of all nutes and any additives when done properlly. thats why the rule of thumb is 3 to 1 ratio when it comes to flushing. The issue with molassas and water during flushing is that it wil allow biproducts such as salts and other nutrients will bond to it. As far as clearex goes I've used it before, it does just as much, if not the same as other flushing agents. I use Flora Kleen, Thats one product that works well, and I'd gladly tell others to use it. It allows the salts and everything else to be released. The only real way to know if the flushing works is to check the ppm's After the final flush. And the only real way to tell if the micro's are gone is if you were to litterally check under a microscope. LOL..
