Im talking for a grow room, easy maintenance.. not living, high traffic areas...
Couple hours between coats... Touch dry in hour walk on in 3... Or if cold and damp, won't dry :rofl:

Id use an acrylic exterior paint, to paint a floor that's previously painted... Semi gloss.... Harder than interior and still allows for easy maintenance, touch up or recoating...

Just use an acrylic low sheen... theres Paints designed for kitchen laundry bathroom use that have anti mildew bacterial and fungal additives ... Low sheen will allow easier cleaning without giving off reflection...

Our local brand of that paint is called Kilz. I use it as a primer coat on any home painting I do. The humidity requires it's use.
It dries to a nice flat white that should do well in my world.

Looked up that song now I’ve got it stuck in my head. Damn.

Not the first human I've damaged... sorry. Sticky fingers, you got those sticky fingers!

Acrylic low sheen is just a sheen of paint, mostly what your walls are painted in... Kilz is the brand (not here)..... I take it it's a good quality paint... best way to go, to avoid constant recoating....

@Tead , the wall behind this plant is painted with kilz laytex. It really brightened up the room for a flat paint

*stands to applaud*
Now thats what im talkin 'bout! One more step in the right direction as far as im concerned.

By the way Big Sparks, I wanted to say I wasn’t talking about you when I was spouting off about about other people spouting off about the joys of being ‘allowed’ to grow four plants. It’s been keeping me awake at night thinking you might have misinterpreted that. I wasn’t referring to you, just some other conversations among some of the sheeple.
Just spouting off about my own viewpoint really. I can see how ‘legalization’ is good for many. I just don’t give a crap about what the rules are and find it all sort of depressing to see the state of affairs. There’s a big oversupply of muggles in my country that will blindly swallow and studiously follow whatever rules are passed down to them by authority, and urge everyone else to do the same, without questioning much. I’m constantly horrified by this. But I’m constantly horrified by a lot of stuff I guess.

Broke my stone pipe just before I was going to go kayaking so I made another one quick from a bird bone. Hacksawed a bone up, drilled a small hole near one end of the stem piece, and drilled/filed a hole in the shorter bowl section, so the stem piece slides into it tightly. Then for a tighter seal, a chunk of cork (or whatever) on the bottom, which is mostly blocked off by the stem anyway. Resin quickly gums up and seals any other little air gaps. Can be fairly easily slid apart again if need be.
This isn’t the most gracefully shaped pipe bowl I’ve ever made, but it smokes amazingly nicely. Very smooth, and what is amazing is it only took 45 minutes to make. It’s had a good workout since yesterday- already my favourite pipe. Especially since I seem to have lost or broken all the other ones at the moment.
So if you have any bird bones around, keep it in mind...

That’s a real beauty Dynamo.:) That’s my next project- a mini pipe that will fit in the same container with my bud and lighter and hang around my neck. I lose those little ones fast. The nice thing about bone is it’s easy to see.

I don't think my local robins will supply me with anything I could smoke thru. Love the antler pipes... gonna keep an eye out.

So, after 2 coats of the oil based Kilz for the floor, I resorted to pouring the product onto the surface and shaping it into a nice evenly covered lake of paint. I had to level the sawhorses... the lake was thicker in one corner. Caulked the edges to seal it.
Note, the surface painted is quite level... the waves are all paint.

Is that for your growroom? Reason I advised acrylic is to avoid off gassing... Which continues for years... Hopefully your not growing in a sealed room.... Id allow a few weeks/month to cure before putting plants on it...
Good job

Good job

Words that bring funny stories... I'll share.
So, Tead wasn't paying attention when he grabbed his can of latex Kilz primer. It was an old can... I was just happy it still looked good enough to use. Tead starts painting... gee this paint gets thicker when it gets old.... funny, it feels odd on the brush too.... whatever... let's slop it on and get on with my day.
Tead goes to wash the brush when he's done. The water hits the brush and the paint instantly turns gooey and messy.
Ahhh.... say, I've been here before.... this is oil based paint.... not latex.
The mess went into the garbage.... not dealin with that noise!!! The next brush hit the trash can when I was done with it too.

Yup... that's gonna be the floor of my veg tent. I want it super durable and water proof.
Good words on the off gassing. I hadn't considered it... but then, when I consider my extreme ventilation, my concerns wane a good bit. Thanks tho... good words and I had not considered such things.

gonna' take that long to dry!.....cheerz...h00k...:rollit:

A day in the sun and the thicker waves are still quite gooey. Gettin there.
