Slug races on a lazy Sunday morning...... We are a creative lot, eh? :laughtwo:

Weaselcracker, I don't believe I've seen your garden this sparse before. My congratulations on getting just a wee bit of breathing space. In the perpetual garden this doesn't happen as often as you'd like. :cheesygrinsmiley:

If you start up a solo cup sativa challenge please track me down so I don't miss the start. I have some interesting choices, and I recently learned that one could, with foresight and persistent attentention, grow enough in solo cups to supply at least a half ounce a day for juicing purposes, provided you had the space to plant one solo cup a day. This sounds like something I'll have to make happen at least once, but before I attempt something on that scale I figure it's necessary to learn to keep at least one alive and happy through harvest.

Tead, do you think you could make a solo cup work as a small hempy? I'd likely have to water multiple times a day at flowering, but I can't see how it wouldn't work, with enough commitment.

Yes, but you'd have to water it a few times every day all the way thru the grow.... does seem like potential hexapus territory tho.
I'd think that foliar feeding would be a very effective feeding technique in a solo cup world... but don't tell the other contestants!
Wherever you land on the issues... your commitment might be a touch challenged.
I might even imagine that it's better territory for a soil grow with a thick soil mix to retain water as long as possible and then feeding thru foliar.

Oh it's now a merger of the Sative challenge AND the Solo Cup? 'The Solo Sativa Cup'....sounds like a horse race. Except far more interesting. And it gives me an excuse to buy more seeds...bonus!
And btw; Weasel, that Strawberry Blue plant looks awesome!! I could just about smell it. Well done. And those CMOG buds look so beautiful, too.

why not a graft challenge?

Heya weaseley. Cheers friend. How's the fishin?

So hard to leava

Sativa

I believa

I'd grieva

I'm sub'd... just got back from out of country again... plants on auto... my outdoor slug garden is doing well. Trick with slugs... attract birds They eat them... I've had them slide up my windows trying to see whats inside. They are disgusting. I'm with Pearlite ... it works and salt.

Sativa in a solo cup... thats a pretty big challenge. 100+ days in a solo cup is going to take a lot of daily attention. A challenge for sure.

I have a good idea.. solo cup with btm cut out and put on top of a 10 gal soil pot, no transplant needed or required. Props for creativity??

Did weasel say he was going away? Weasel where you at? Hope all is well mate..

Hey friends. Hope everyone and their plants are all well, and thank you for dropping in here while I was away.
I got back a week ago but have been dealing with a bunch of life's hurdles and so I haven't been online. The auto watering system didn't work out due to operator stupidity, but most of the plants survived a thirsty 9 days. Strawberry Blue died and the grafted sativa lost almost all of her foliage but will pull through ok I think.

Among a small pile of non-plant related mini tragedies in the last three weeks, my most beloved animal friend died in my arms this morning after a week of trying hard to nurse her back to health. I don't need to explain how that feels, to anyone who's been through it. :(

And to be honest it's been nice to have the internet off for the last few weeks. I may have discovered a new sort of iPhone addiction- the addiction of keeping it turned off. But I know I'll be back here soon enough, to get this journal back on track, once I weather these last few storms.

Welcome Bobrown. And Nivek -the fishing was good. Had an epic battle catching a 97 pound halibut from my kayak. 97% luck of course, and a whole lot that could have gone wrong there, but I got the fish in the end.

Again I hope everyone is well, I wish you all the best, and I will talk to you again soon, or at least soon-ish. :passitleft:

Yeah- from my observations it looks like the majority of people's world's are roughly 2.5" wide by about 4" high. Unless they're on an iPad or computer in which case they're somewhat larger (debatably).

Mine shrunk too I'm afraid.
This is one of the most profound things i have read in a bit.
I always think of it as " ...the world is smaller..." But this thought of peoples (almost) entire lives being on a tiny screen on a tiny box... Mind blown.
Also... Really baked. Lol

Sorry to hear that man, they are like my kids to me and it bites to lose them...I about came unglued at work one time when someone said "it was just a cat", not sure how I kept from killing them to be honest.

In a freaking Kayak? Did this involve alcohol and trying to top The Old Man and the Sea book? ;) yeah I"m old, recall having to read that in school back when dinosaurs still roamed the earth
