Perhaps it's because I can't drive my COBs hard enough, but I've never been able to get either of the PC's I had to fill out like any of yours. Are all of your PCs bloomed outside? Either way, they sure look super frosty and stacked very well. That's all I want from a strain right now.

Thanks Skybound. God no - the outdoor climate here is a growers nightmare. Nothing will even start blooming till the rainy-er season hits. I just drag them outside to get some decent lighting for photos. And I usually trim outside if the weather permits.
Yeah maybe it’s the good old HIDs doing the trick. I’ve been reading for the last five years how HPS is dead technology and gone the way of the dinosaurs. But having put in a couple Q-boards, so far I’m not convinced that there’s that much of a divide between the lighting types.

Your plants always look top notch weasel. Your outlook on the old clones getting weaker over time is interesting. I've only kept one for 2 years and I remember the last time I ran it I had issues. Probably coincidence, or lack of attention on my part. I'm getting better at growing as the years go by mainly because I spend more time with the garden now and work a lot less

Coming from HID, I find myself (currently) in the same boat with not being able to drive my LEDs hard in the summer months, just like when using HID. When I build a new room, I plan to drag one of my 600s out of retirement to be the center light, then outline it with COBs. I believe it an open room with climate controls, I will be free to push my lighting harder and hopefully get back into the heavy yield range.

I used to run 2 1k hps lights in a spare room. I was growing a lot bigger plants than I am now that I'm in my new house. I went from a 12/12 room to a 32"x48"x60" flower tent. It's been a struggle for me growing in small pots and using LEDs. I don't think I could use my hps in this tiny tent tho. Even with air cooled hoods heat would be a issue. Plus at 60" tall the light would take up too much room. I've got a plan to get another area build up for a bigger grow sometime soon

Small towns and getting ripped off a bit.. They look away with guilt when they see you. It's weird for a bit then, pfft, who cares.. you never (talking about myself really) give out more than you can comfortably afford to lose. And you see them, so with smatass constant reminders, they eventually make good.. by this time, your over it and the payment is now a bonus, an added pleasure on top of a tight budget, lol :passitleft:

I like you, GrizzWald. :cheesygrinsmiley:

My mind can't put the words together right now, but sumpin 'bout lessons. Life is supposed to teach lessons ... most of the time, life just ... is. Right or wrong.

:bongrip:

Only problem with learning, the lessons, but without them. That old chestnut :passitleft:

If Nurple Pream is similar to Purple Dream, The Capn used to get nanners on his PD a lot back in the day. Maybe it's inherent?

This is an f2 I made from BIDs, durple pream, gdp x blueberry, I believe...

Not a Blue Dream in there?

Thanks for the pics mate. Been ok, mostly.
I’m going to sprout one of the Durples soon. Meant to do that today but got a little busy.... Maybe I’ll try a couple other things as well, probably including another GT or two to try and find a Thai pheno. Also I’ve been considering a mass planting of the selfed seeds from the variegated Choc Mint plant, just for fun to see if any variegated ones pop up.

Gave my bucket of kelp soup from last winter a little stir. The smell has quieted enough that I could stir it without my guts twisting in knots. Still awful though. I’m surprised to see how intact some of the kelp is.
I’ve got some buckets of fish remains that are several years old and degraded into a sort of moist sludge. I figure if I mix these two things together in some sort of tea there’s bound to be some good bacteria in there somewhere.

I made another batch of bubble hash a couple days ago. Made from mainly bud- I put the drill on medium high and beat the shit out of the mix for over an hour. Then for round 2 I cranked the throttle up even more and did it again for 90 minutes. Funny thing is it came out great. Got about an ounce and a half. I dried it in a warm place then today I put it in the propane oven on low-ish about to warm up so I could shape it better. On the lowest rack closest to the flame, but I meant to check in five minutes anyway, then got distracted by a long phone call with the girl. When I went back in the house the entire house was a full of intense choking, eye watering hash fumes. Not smoke. Just really strong vapour.
I ran around and got the doors and all the windows open. got the pan outside, got the hash out and stirred it around, still on the phone....
’What’s all that clattering...?’ Then I got started getting high as f$&k and had explain the situation and told her ‘I really have to go’.
That was this morn. I’m still pretty cooked and it’s almost 2 am. The day was a total write off.
:lot-o-toke:
It took hours to get the fumes out of the house.
It was exactly like being inside a giant vaporizer.
Not sure what’s left of the hash but there was quite a lot of it and the main body didn’t look like it vaped off. The funny thing is it still looks incredible and is now far far more gooey than before. It got a lot darker when I stirred the singed parts in, but it’s probably more sticky now then any I’ve made before. It’s feels all wrong to touch it cause it sticks to everything

I guess if you didn’t know it was hash you were looking at, it might not look very good....

I dragged the next P Chunk out to maybe harvest, but decided I was just too stoned to trim it so I put it back in....The top flowers are ready but the lower ones can still wait a few more days, so it’s ok.

Love to see a la Nina mate, instead of the durple ;)

 you opened the widows and doors.. I would have got the towels out and sealed the bottoms of the doors

Man that PC looks perfect! Your hash IMO looks like you've been diggin crap out of the diaper, lol. Do some research about making fish hydrolysate. AFAIK, the process is to grind the fish part into a soup and let it go through all the stages of rotting and fermenting, and upon completion, the resulting goo is a protein rich goo that has a lot of ionic elements as well as some bacteria, but I think you may need to add phosphoric acid to stabilize the juice in some way.

Ha ha :laughtwo: Yeah they started fast and I could see what was coming- another one of those floor-mop things I like to grow sometimes.
Like this one.

By the way I started smoking some of this Ethiopian, and after a cure it seemed like it got quite a lot stronger. It’s the speediest stuff I’ve ever smoked. Holy shit. I like speedy weed as long as it’s got a nice glow to it, but this stuff is so jittery I thought I might jitter apart, without the nice glow. They could give it to those poor suckers at Guantanamo- wouldn’t have to worry about them dozing off on the job anymore. After a week they’d probably be asking to get the relaxing strobe lights and metal tunes back.

I also made a gallon or two of wine from the Ethiopian- which I should bottle and test soon.
I have never seen any weed look like that lol

Cool. I’ll start one of each right now. Got distracted shopping on the net for some seed containers- I’m getting a lot of seeds laying around everywhere now with nothing to put them in.

EDIT- Started two Golden Tigers, one SLH x Afghan, one Durple Pream, and one La Niña

That hash episode was really weird. Would make an excellent party trick. Kind of hard to explain but I just walked into the house, except instead of just stepping into the house I stepped into a whole new plane of reality. Some sort of timewarp or new dimension. Walked out feeling totally different then how I went in.

fish hydrolysate
.

Yeah next time I get out fishing this summer I’m going to try to make some of this.

looks like.... crap

No shit....

I have never seen any weed look like that lol

Me neither. Ha ha. Maybe I should try another seed but I’m only up for so much self abuse/fun.

After doing that hash run I took all of the leftover strained out soup and let it settle for a few hours, then siphoned off most of the liquid and put the results in a large frying pan in a warm space to dry out. This is sort of where I’m at with the settling method for now. It’s a good way to collect what the bubble bags miss.

Anyway, this frying pan had a thin layer of that settled hash in the bottom and that’s mainly what turned black and vaporized in the oven. The main blob from the previous runs looked pretty much untouched. So I just mixed everything together.

Whatever else that heating did, it worked wonders for the texture. Normally my bubble hash leans towards being a bit crumbly.
I warm it up in the oven first but usually have to really work to get it pressed into a uniform lump, and that’s how it was this last time too until I overheated it. Seems like maybe there is some wiggle room here for improving my hash finishing methods.

great shot right there friend,, indeed. you worked it a bit for the b/w pic,, very nice workin it,,

cheers,, oh,, anytime you want to send some info about your qb's, as in where ya got em and what they be,,

yer plants continue to be my target,, tho i am oh so very far away,, can't even see the bullseye

great hash job weaseley,,

Thanks Nivek. I can’t see the bullseye either- feels like I just keep shooting random arrows.

All the info on the QBs is in that conversation I included you in but I’ll sift through it and pm you the relevant stuff later.
So far I haven’t known what to think about the QBs. They’re just there. The plants seem happy enough under them but I can’t quite put my finger on how the buds are developing. They do seem to mature differently- maybe smaller and denser so the growth is less apparent. Sometimes it seems like they’re standing still. I wonder how much difference it makes that I have 3500k spectrum instead of 3000. Hopefully not much.
They’re also getting kind of a mix from both types of lights. Failing getting rich enough to buy more of them, I may rearrange the boards so I can isolate the QBs better and discern the difference.

That hash is so soft that working it, changing it from a turd into that smooth ball was just a matter of rolling it in my hands for about 10 seconds. Much different from my usual stuff.
