Voodoo's 600W Top Fed Rdwc SCROG Random Strain

Happy Sativaday SW:)
reps cause you deserve it

Cheers fishy and thanks for being such a devoted follower! Im loving this site so much to learn.
I gave the girls one last boost of nutes and a dose of h2o2 this morning hoping to get the most out of the next couple of days most of the smaller shoots are only a couple of inches from the screen now, so when they hit the top I will reassess flipping them to 12/12. Im on the edge of my seat!

Dido for me Voodoo, we both pretty much at the same stage:) I'm debating switching to 12/12 today depending on how my girls look in relation to the screen. Gonna check in a couple of hours.
Good luck with the bloom phase buddy!

:rollit:

Thanks heaps stealthgrow. Yeah I was hoping to be a bit further along but they seem to be taking their time, hence the boost. I swear, its like watching grass grow LOL. but yeh I don't want to rely too much on stretch filling the screen as I figure that will in turn take away from some of the wanted vertical growth time for colas. I want to try to get a nice 10inches give or take of cola.

Back to my other hobbies. Im a rather obsessive person when I find something I can get creative with. Quite a few years ago I had a bit of an obsession with tropical and marine fish, and I ended up with about 30 or more tanks in my back shed, lounge room, entry, bedroom etc. My favourites were my 4 ft marine reef tank and 6x2 Malawi cichlid tank. Id bred many species and the hobby sustained itself although its many years since Ive owned a tank now.
But anyways it got me to thinking of aquaculture. Im thinking id like to try a clone bubbler within an small aquaculture setup possibly disguised with other plants growing in it too. probably use simple goldfish in a small tank pump the water from an undergravel filter into the bubbler then fed back to the fish tank. The small amount of nitrites available would probably suit a clone start to a tee.
Of course this is all time and $ willing. Or maybe its just the weed talking.

Thats cool. I had many tanks salt and fresh:) of course I too had a African cichlid tank and a 70 gallon reef tank.Oscars, piranhas even Discus. There are a few folks here that use aquarium water for their grows. so that isn't a bad Idea:)

oh btw my ec is up around 3.6. I have to be pushing the point of burn but they were showing no signs of the overfed dark green or any burn as yet if anything everything is quite light /pale so well see. All four are probably drinking a bit over a Litre a day. Oh and Im not sure about this chicken wire I used next time ill find a plastic alternative this seems a bit abrasive. The baby in soil is starting to take off a bit more but its too little too late I think. I see a lollipop comin up. And that's about it. LOL. All up to date.

Cool! My Oscars is what started me off on my fish tanks. Then I bred some blue Acaras and watching the parents raise their swarm of fry got my hooked on breeding. Alot of fresh water fish from Bristle nose catfish to tanganyikan shell dwellers (another fave), tropheus moorii/duboisi, lamprologus calvus to name a few. I mainly stuck to hard water fish, so I never attempeted the discus. Ive found a lot of similarities in the two hobbies and that a similar mindset is required.
Using the tank water is an interesting concept. Ive only just started researching this but I believe the water fed to the plants in aqua-culture is after it has been through the biological filter to convert the ammonia to (oh god its been a while) Nitrates which the plants feed from... so if the water used for your plants was directly fed post biological filtration (rather than just collected from the tank) and well aerated it should be FULL of food and lots of bennies to boot.

I had a synadontis angeliquos from malawi he was the most beautiful catfish I ever saw and in my reef tank my tomato clowns laid eggs. I put them in a smaller tank but ended up not being able to feed them and keep the water clean so no good their. Had other assorted salt fish Lions, groupers, eels and angels but one year I was at work and the outside temps were well above a hundred and most everything died in the marine tanks coral and what not. many thousands of $$$$ lost. My Oscar I had for eight years and was a big as a trophy Large Mouth before he passed. that is where it kind of went south for me. Still have some big ass trickle filters and pumps in storage.
Anyway I like your plans:)

Yeah I moved house and they simply could not all come so I sold the lot was heart breaking years of work and $$$ spent. But now I have a new interest.:morenutes:
and you get rewards when they die:)
Hopefully

LOL good way of thinking. Side note, spotted some preflowers showing too just a couple hairs here and there. Is that just a sign they are ready to turn?
show a sign that they are mature and ready when you are. have you noticed node staggaring?

Looking good voodoo, nice work mate. On the Q of when to flip, I'd be tempted to wait until the plants start growing up through the screen and you're having to tuck the tops back under. At the point the screen is 60%-70% or so full (I.e you've been tucking the tops under and now 60% of the screen has plant actually touching / trying to go through it) that's the point to flip. Over the next week or two you can then continue tucking back under the screen as she stretches, and then when it's full just let her grow up. From the photos I'd say you were possibly a couple of weeks away from flipping to 12/12.

Re: nute transition, I use Canna nutes and keep the veg nutes going from 12/12 until pistils appear (i just increase the Ec and add Boost when I switch to 12/12), then I switch to the flowering nutes. Mixing the two as you're planning should be fine, though I don't think the plants really need the higher PK until they're actually flowering. I'm coming to think of the first week or two of 12/12 as like an extreme veg period so I bang my veg nutes up so there's plenty of N for the plant to build its mass during the early days of stretch, and then when the flowers appear and she needs more PK I switch to flower nutes.

Thanks heaps green knight everything you mentioned 100% makes sense. Using veg nutes while its in a "veg state" regardless of light hours makes sense to me I just wasn't sure whether it may delay flower a little longer than if switching to the bloom nutes straight away. Thanks for stopping by and your input!
What did you mean by node staggering fishy? Being clones the nodes have been alternating (one left then one right as opposed to a node on either side) all along. If that is what you mean.

No worries mate; it's a great grow and I'm looking forward to following it. I don't think running flowering nutes too early or too late will delay flower, the plants will do their thing and as long as they can get the nutrients they require they'll be fine. If they do need something it will show as a deficiency, but tbh I think the majority of defs are pH related more often than not; if nutes are present and available she'll take all she needs

Seeing as there was a little interest in my Uber ghetto bubbler here is another update. Still no water change the algae etc is getting bad and the tape I constructed it out of is collapsing! I topped up once with a weak nute solution that I was watering my mother with other than that still manky month or so old tap water... ( I'm laughing at my own dodginess here it really does look bad!). This first photo was taken 7 days ago the clone at the back was put in about 3 days prior, so about ten days all up (TBH I didn't take any dates so id say 12 at the most) and this is what ive got.
