Volksball's First Grow: White Widow Feminized Grow Journal 2018

Volksball, what an amazing grow you have going! The scrog looks so good and now you have me feeling some FOMO for not attempting it with mine this round haha! Can’t wait to see how they finish! I’m going to take a seat and watch if you don’t mind?
Mind? Of course not! The more the merrier! Thanks for stopping in and the encouraging words!

Hi everyone,

I've been noticing more and more leaves on my ever temperamental plant showing signs of cal/mag deficiency. I'd love it cleared up before the flip next week, but I'm not sure if it will be. The other two plants are as healthy as ever.

I've upped the amount of cal/mag in her feedings, but it hasn't seemed to clear up the problem. It's not on all leaves, just a number of them. Have a look, if you have a minute.

Maybe cal/mag foliar spray? I've been told that if it isnt on all leaves, it may not be that big of an issue. She doesn't grow as strong or as much as the others. I'd hate to out her into flower not at optimum health, but I'm starting to believe it may never be possible with her.

I'll take any suggestions. Thanks.

Looks like a magnesium deficiency between the veins. Does it seem to progress to more leaves since you fed them ? That’s what I like about hydro, easy dose of calMag !

Not sure if its progressing. But its definitely noticeable.

Are you feeding at full strength now? If not, you should be. That yellowing in the new growth is indicating a larger nutrition problem. Lets review pH and feeding again?
Well, I pulled back on the nutes because I saw buring tips. I'm not quite at full strength because the other plants seem to be happy at a half dose. My pH is always 6.3 going in. I'll be feeding them tonight. Do you think I should use a full dose on her and keep the others the same as usual?

I feed every three days right now, so they're getting two half doses a week, eventhough I know that still amounts to a half dose per feeding. I just figured the others are seemingly happy.

The signs of deficiency on your new growth means that you are underfeeding. Try full feeding before freaking out and trying something new... the problem seems to be obvious to me. As big as your plants now are, and in those big containers, it is now time to stop being timid with the feeding. I would start using the recommended amounts on all of the plants just to avoid the trouble that your heaviest feeders are now experiencing.

Ok. Thank you. I'll give them all full doses tonight. I just was concerned as the other two are a deep green and happy. More N, and I worry they may be getting too much and burn.

you are a long ways from burning... go for it. A little bit of tip burn is not a crisis... it is an indicator that you finally are giving them just a little more than they need. If you aren't at least burning the tips, you are not trying hard enough. Even in my organic grow... every one of my tips is slightly burned simply due to the amounts of nutrients that are found in my containers. When you start seeing that unhealthy deep green and clawing... that is overfeeding. Again, you are a long ways from there.

Ok. I understand better now.

I had plans to flip next week, but with the upped dosages, I wonder if I should give the one plant more time to recover. You think? Or is a week to 10 days usually good enough?

I love seeing little gems for the garden like this! So happy to be following both! Thank you gardeners for all the lessons I have been able to learn from all!

That is a work of beauty!
Thanks! Means alot! Alot of your good wisdom in there :)

I might be jumping the gun, but the double dose of nutes seems to have made a quick impact. Even the one girl seems to have pushed up some new middle growth that isnt off color. So thanks for the quick diagnosis! Now, I'm going to just let em go for a bit before the seasons change. Kinda nice seeing them finally fill in.
