Good thanks Bill. Got family returning early tomorrow morning, so I been busy prepping for that, feel like chilling back now, so I am. All the best for fishing that river and enjoying life!

Last tourney I was in I won using tiny marshmallows on the smallest hook that they would conceal and 3 pound test leader. A dozen other rather high and drunken folks were in the invitational and I was the only one with fish that day! Took all the prizes with 3 trout! One I got with a small cast master lure.

Perhaps I've watched too many nature documentaries here in NZ, but why do you have to go to town to get worms, I thought after all that snow you'd just flip over some polar bear dung and gather them up?

Ground is still frozen, infact its snowing right now.
Polar Bears are still hibernating I bet.
So no bear poop to flip over yet.
We are finally seeing birds again.
It's so nice to hear them in the morning.
Can't wait to get the greenhouse into place and start assembly again.
Should be melted by August.

Morning Cap'n.
Hope your weekend went well.
The trick to Fly fishing is you need flys first.
When the weather breaks the bugs hatch and trout start eating them.
Without that hatch your using wet Flys, halgamites and larve type insects.
Traditional Fly Fishing won't be for a couple more weeks.
If it stops snowing.
Worms work great, that and Roe.
But I'm out of Roe.
Still wouldn't mind some sunshine though.

It was both a proud fishing day and not so much as I hit the bottle of sambuca too hard on the water. It was freezing and the opening day of fishing season so with frost on me I just kept hitting that bottle. Got so drunk I had to sit out the second half of the tourney to sober up. They still never caught fish and they trashed me as they woke me up to pay up! Stocked rainbows. Won't be long for you! That was the last time I made that mistake!
