I saw the pic, it looked like a simple superficial wound, not to suggest it’s not painful, there are zillions of nerve endings in your hands, that’s why the pain feels more intense. My guess is it will be healed in 3 weeks, or almost healed.I can't post a pic, Teddy is busy enough.

But it's not the actual cut that's the problem.
I damaged the nerves.Cut right through them I think.
My arm is on fire and i have no control in my left hand.
Can't carry or do anything with it.
Doctor just blew me off.
Squeezed my hand a couple times said you will be fine.
I can't do this job with one hand, I found that out in a hurry.
So I don't know what to do.
I have a follow up appointment in 3 weeks.
Hopefully the swelling goes down and I get movement back by then.
As far as dressings go, I’d think a second daily dressing, clean with normal saline, cover the wound only with Inodine if you are not allergic to the product of course, cover with Melolin (shiny side on wound) then a crepe bandage. If there is excessive puss, add can absorbent dressing over the melolin and dress daily.
I would then cut a thumb hole and cover with tubigrip. It will like This It will keep your dressing looking both neat and clean.
Fresh wounds are meant to hurt, unless there is an infection, there is nothing your doctor can do at this early stage. This is what your endocrine system is for, your body is built to fight infection, it just needs time. Antibiotics should be last resort. What you are watching for is tracking, tracking is a redness that is travelling. If there is redness mark it with a pen. Then you can see if it is becoming larger.
The other thing you can do is eat well, food that is high in protein, and drink 2L H20.

I don't care about hurting myself, I do it all the time.
Pain doesn't slow me down.
But this is troublesome to me.
Working single handed is so effective.
