Hey Buddy. The size of your plants in those cups is amazing. Can you tell me why the layer of perlite at the bottom or direct to a link you have? Always trying to do things a little better. Haven't tried putting the DYNOMYCO in the layers. Store near me has Cyco coco coir with no peat mentioned and the Canna coco is about 90min away.
Thank you my friendDigging your raised grid drain pan idea! Bet that keeps it nice and clean In there eh!? Keeps them a little warmer!

Hey Stunger thanks Buddy.Great stuff Bill, nicely rolled doobie too!
That Frass n Dazzle looks great that you get it in a good sized bag, I wish we could get it here.
Funnily enough your approach of up potting the plants so there is a little moat around them was something I did with my last up potting. I wasn't trying to, but the root mass was too high to fit in without disturbing the pumice/scoria aeration layer that is about 10 inches below the soil. At first I thought oh shit I could have done that better but then I thought, well now it is just how Bill recommends. Have a good one!
when you layer it how thick of a layer of perlite & how thick for the soil in inchs if you dont mindHey Buddy.
Perlite is used as a spacer to always hold air in the pots.
My method @Bill284 Method is designed for any type of pot and any medium you choose to put in it.
It's very versatile and effective at keeping roots aerated and healthy.
The inch or so of perlite on the bottom prevents the roots from getting bound in the pot.
Air & perlite keeps roots from getting wrapped around in circles causing issues, especially in plastic pots.
The layers inside the pot keep roots happy and problem free.
Start with perlite on the bottom and just keep alternating coco/perlite with bokashi & frass.
Your roots will never be happier.

EDIT: Lol guess i could just read your journal on how you do it, sorry bacon bit moment
From my reading it was about t a inch of perlite in the bottom. I've been doing his layer method but wasn't aware of the perlite layer. Plane to use it going forward.when you layer it how thick of a layer of perlite & how thick for the soil in inchs if you dont mind

No, thats geat Bill thanks for the answer, was toying with the idea of trying your layering method for my summer outdoor lake grow & see how it works with soil not coco was going to try 1-2" perlite & 3-4" soil layered in 7 gal fabric pots but just don't want to water every day, have you tried layering with soil?No that's OK.
Perlite is a 1/2" to 1" to get complete coverage.
Coco or soil is a bit thicker 1" to 2" in bigger pots.
Smaller pots aren't as thick bigger will be a bit thicker.
It's not the volume it's the separation that does it.
Creates several perched water tables between layers of air.
So it doesn't matter if they are a bit thicker or thinner as long as you divide it in layers.
Any other questions my friend?
