No, box elder bugs have a cross cross of black on their backside and they're not as round. Boxelder insects eat seeds, the main food is maple tree seeds.

Depends how old they are.
My neighbour recently removed a box elder from her yard, so we've been dealing with these bugs for years. The ones in our garden were completely red with a black head and legs. Another name for box elders is Manitoba maples.

In general humidity has been good.
I changed my approach and haven't shut down the vents at night.
And I increased air flow during the day.
That's helps.
But I only use minimal feed water aswell.
That has reduced daily humidity aswell.
Not feeding 25 girls all at once.
I'm also spraying SNS DC. every week to 5 days to kill spores before they take hold.
It's working great so far, don't want to ginx it though.
