Virgin Ground And The Little Star Asterion

I used all soil fox farm at 1st in mine, no issues at all
Good to know. I not sure what the difference was between the two. I think it was the calcium buffer in it.???? Too sick to remember.

I'll have to be in hospital, before they are concerned.
You certainly need me as a neighbor :)
Now a days, my girls do take care of me. I can't complain.
Before escape, I even had to drag myself to hospital, never mind.. Don't want to remember giving birth....
Hope you will be better soon :circle-of-love::circle-of-love::circle-of-love::circle-of-love:

Finally something (other than you fine people) to make me smile today. Came 2 days early. Bought it off eBay and it came in a Amazon package....crafty sellers.

It is a growneer. Maybe I have a hole in my system. I'll surely look into it. The fan I got with it was complete crud. I figure the filter is the same. It does come apart at least, so I can refill it.

Hmmm.. gets mixed reviews from what I can see. Some calling it ‘cheap crap’. Still- the concept is simple so as long as the venting and room can be sealed then you should be able to replace the carbon in there and make things work- just a pain in the butt.

It's just the pelletized activated type, right?
do you need to pack it? Mine seems a bit loose.....It has me wondering if it is full enough.

Try flipping ends of the filter, removing the null end and replacing the flange end. I've heard ppl get more milage that way because the airflow is greater near the flange so that carbon gets exhausted quicker.

Is there also a way to offgas carbon at temperature. Never tried it but I know fish people who recycle carbon.

Yes- activated carbon. Yes it’s meant to be packed right full. I did read a few people online saying that it’s not possible to pack it well enough by hand and that they use a special machine blah blah blah. But I didn’t have any trouble getting it nice and full- I just stood the filter on end and filled it - kept jiggling it down till it was full and well packed, then put the end back on. I also cut a 2 inch hole in the end cap of the filter with a holesaw (a bit that goes in your drill for cutting holes in doors for doorknobs in case you don’t know). After the end was back on the filter I filled any remaining space through the 2” hole, then covered that.

I spent a lot of time researching this in the past. It never did become totally clear whether it’s possible to clean the stuff or not. Some people say it needs high temps beyond what we can achieve at home. Other people claim that you can clean it by heating it in the oven or boiling it. I boiled the contents of my last filter in a large cauldron over the fire for a few hours to clean it. I have never got around to it using it though, to see if it worked. I think if you live anywhere near civilization (I don’t) and don’t have to pay astronomical shipping bills it would be easier to just replace.

You soak it in really strong h2o2 and bake it off to dry @ 225-250f I've done it before. It's just super messy. It works ok. Not the same as fresh.

Lol, I nearly bought a thermal imaging camera for £200 so I could look for hot spots in the tent...and run around the woods at night :)
Well, you gotta have one of those. Those are standard equipment.lol.

I have about 10 gallons of BRS rox 2.0 in the garage. I might try this. I don't use that carbon, just have it on hand. I also have access to a couple forges. But I would rather just buy a new filter at the grow store. I bought a Can as a scrubber and am thinking of adding a 66 to the tent....just don't like the floor space.

have simply just baked them in the past. never soaked them in anything. usually a bit hotter, around 325 or so. stinks the place up tho. has worked well in the past to reactivate them. they don't last as long as the first time around tho.

something there doesn't seem right. my filters are jammed pretty solid. nothing loose inside them.

I was worried about them not being full. Just a cheap company I guess. I may flip the flange around and see about ordering some more.
