Virgin Ground And The Little Star Asterion

My holding container will have a hempy hole about a 1/2" up and I'll just pour water in it every day until runoff to keep it close to a constant height.
If you are using perlite, that stuff can wick up around 8". You probably wouldn't have to refill that much if you container isn't too large.
Instead of talking about cloninators, I'm going to say don't worry about the silica unless it's potassium silicate. If it is I would add a little plain water right around the stem to dilute it a bit. Isn't 5ml the max dose for potassium silicate?
The silica didn't seem to bother them at all.
I agree with Shed. Let it go. It ain't gonna hurt them. He and I are after the same goal with diluting it a little. I'd go with the just skip the next time you're supposed to use it route. They might get real hard though. Lol. JK. You'll be fine. Goddamn those girls are healthy.
I didn't even bother to dilute. We'll chalk that one up to learning experience or an experiment.
I don't usually add silica to my MC. It has chitin in it.
We do too! I was just about to clean my reading glasses.

Yes. Yes they did.
I think she finally outgrew her blurry!
Nice flat canopy on the BB! Have you got room to lay the PK out now? Looks a little tight in there already.

DDAs look great...well done on the pollination! [♪ SING we are a part of the po-llen nation ♫]
I can splay her out a bit. I'll be moving the DDA to who-knows-where..

Lol. At this rate it will be the garbage. I'm all out of room right now.
They're looking a picture of health VG!
Thanks Stinger.
I've tried to be more on-point as far as the environment. I've also been holding myself back so I don't overfeed.

It's been working well. I should do this type of stuff more often.

No perlite. I thought yours was just plain water with your cal-mag added and no medium. Or did I read that wrong? :hmmmm:

Sorry.
I think I was confused when you mentioned hempy.

My cloner is just water.

Ok. Right. My container has a hole like hempy just so I can keep the water level somewhat constant.

I'll probably start the experiment this weekend. I've got a round that's failing in my normal setup and I should be ready to give up on it by then.

I trained the Blueberry but can't find the rest of my training wire.
It's around here somewhere.

Squishy surprised me today with two normal leaves..

I'll be flipping the PK and BB as soon as I train the PK. They need to get a move on.
Gorgeous plants as always. Don't you love the gigantic fan leaves on the Blueberry? I got off on them pretty good. Mine looked exactly like yours. Only honestly yours are always among the most healthy plants I see on the forum. Magician.

Your plants are looking great, VG! Are you recovered now? I hope you're not overdoing things. :hugs:

Ah. I get ya now.
Good luck with the cloning.
Glad to see you're full speed ahead again VG! Ready to flip those most beautiful ladies soon is exciting! I have peppermint Kush on my mind! Sounds like a good and fun one!
The tent already smells like peppermint. The oldest kid came to visit yesterday. I opened the tent and he said "Peppermint!"
I hadn't told him I was growing one.

She's a beautiful plant without a doubt.
Yeah. The big fans have been a trip. I don't usually get anything close to the size of these. Hope she stacks well.

Of course I'm overdoing it. This me were talking about. Lol
I'm semi-recovered. I still have some lethargy and brain fog. Afraid that won't leave. I hear it can last for months.

I got a package in the mail from one of my bestest and sweetest friends.
It was some cool strains that I don't have and this.....

Topped on Jan 25th. Tossed into the cloner on Feb 3rd. Today one of them has roots.

These all look ok...

So beautiful.

So beautiful.
Thanks Jon.
I still have some training to do on the Blueberry and Peppermint Kush. I need to go out to grab some more coated wire. I need to get them flipped ASAP!
I've looked everywhere I can think of and just can't seem to find it.

So, 17 days. That's pretty good for a static, all water method. I assume you simply put the top in a glass of water between the 25th and the 3rd, and then scraped and added your cal-mag? Dip in any rooting hormone?

I'll be trying my version this weekend. My cabinet is pretty dry at low to mid 30% rh and my cuttings are drying out before they can root, so I'm looking for a consistent winter cloning routine without using domes. It didn't help that I had my fan next to them which was stirring up the air adding to the dessication.

Thanks Jon.

I use this Vigoro stuff you can get at any Home Depot, or Walmart, or any big store like that. It comes in pre cut lengths and bags of 100 or 200 or something, or rolls like line. It's essentially the same as bread twists, but the coating is coated for plants and is soft. Doesn't necessarily look it, but it is. Great stuff and real cheap. It's even green, lol. If that helps.

I scraped when I cut them off the plant and stuck them in plain water. Then once in the cloner I added just a touch of cal-mag.

My rh in my room is in the 30s. I don't use domes either.

I think that's the same stuff I use.
I should have a bunch of it somewhere. I've bought two spools and don't remember throwing any out.
Good thing that I 'organized' all of my stuff.

Yes.... modestly.
No jinx but these have been pretty trouble free! Pretty and trouble free.

Cute rute. :)

And DDA 2 looks like a regular plant. :welldone:
I think the DDA had issues with drying out. I had just started using the heating mat and let her get too dry. I looked at the taproot at one point and it was hard and brown. She was feeding through her leaves until she started growing new roots from that.
She looks great now.
