Virgin Ground And The Little Star Asterion

Hello again!

Time for some cloning.

I've had the tops from the Peppermint Kush and Blueberry sitting on some water for a few days...maybe a week? Time flies.
Anyway, I'll be popping those two into my little coffee can cloner that I made a few months back. Just regular tap with a few drops of 4-0-0 cal-mag added.
I start them with the tip about 1/2" of water and just let it drop a bit through evaporation and plant transpiration.
I just keep an eye on the water level and check for goopies. I haven't had any so far. I keep the temp around 70- 75°.

I stopped using the cup/perlite method. I had to try something new so I can get more cuttings to clone a bit faster and more uniform. I'll be making another one of these cloners as soon as I can get a can. I still have coffee left over from the first one.

My old method was to fill a cup like this full of perlite and add water.
While it worked fine I would often get my cuttings mixed up and it was too easy to knock over. Causing me to cuss a lot.

So I cut these a little bit ago. I scraped the stems and stuck them in tap water.
All I have to do is insert them into the cloner collars ...

Thats it. I should have roots in about ten days +/-.

Thank you, VG. Your tops look pretty big. Where do you top your plants in order to get such a big cutting?

We actually have a cloning machine but I've never used it.

The cuttings are so big because I waited until day #63 before I topped. I usually top between the fourth and fifth node.

Get that cloner out and practice, HG!

Howdy!
So. I haven't transplanted the Blueberry and Peppermint Kush yet.
I got busy and had to water. I think they are dry enough now to go ahead and do that this evening.

Here they are this morning.

I'll have post-transplant pics later this evening or tomorrow morning

And the DDA babies...
Squishy is growing now! She'll look fine at day 100.

I'm really loving that Blueberry.

IKR?
She a natural beauty. Only topped once and not trained at all ....yet.
I may separate her branches just a tad after I transplant. Same with the PK.

The new MC is working great so far.

The word spectacular comes to mind.
I absolutely love those fan leaves.
I had a bunch pressed that were massive.
I always let them go.
I don't understand people trimming off something so beautiful.

Stay safe
Bill

Shazzbut!

Y'all think that 5 ml of silica will hurt my DDA babies?
I just realized that I added silica for my PBlend to a gallon of water last night. This morning I mixed 1.5 gr/gal into it for my babies.

I've never used it with MC and that is the dose for a full veg plant.

Y'all think I should flush and feed or just let it ride?

Howdy Bill.

I did have to trim a few of the lowest fans off this morning. It was to aid in transplanting and watering.
I usually let the plant keep it's leaves.
It probably grew them for a reason.
Lush garden of green VG! And those DDA babies look just fine. Even the runty one could be the same as you occasionally get in a package from Sweet Seeds themselves.

:welldone:
Sweet.
I'm not such a screw up after all.

I bet that plant looks 'normal' in a few weeks. I'll be surprised if it doesn't.
The picture of health! :yummy:
They do look nice. Gonna spread those branches a bit and flip in a few days.

Here they are. A bit droopy since it's just before lights out.

And the babies ...

Ok. I'm intrigued enough that I'm going to give this method a try.

Sort of.

Instead of your coffee can I'm going to use my popsicle cloner, instead of your cloner collars I'm going to use plumbing fittings, and instead of your 4-0-0 cal-mag I'm going to use some of my KNF extractions (seaweed, aloe, and willow). My holding container will have a hempy hole about a 1/2" up and I'll just pour water in it every day until runoff to keep it close to a constant height.

But, since I'm going to scrape the stems and use tap water I figure it's almost exactly the same!

I agree with Shed. Let it go. It ain't gonna hurt them. He and I are after the same goal with diluting it a little. I'd go with the just skip the next time you're supposed to use it route. They might get real hard though. Lol. JK. You'll be fine. Goddamn those girls are healthy.

I trained the Blueberry but can't find the rest of my training wire.
It's around here somewhere.

Squishy surprised me today with two normal leaves..

I'll be flipping the PK and BB as soon as I train the PK. They need to get a move on.
