Virgin Ground And The Little Star Asterion

At this point you don't really want to do any defol. If you have to, wait til the stretch is done. Then I would only tuck them under during flower. If you have to defol, just do selective leafs to open up light to bud sites.
Some will take the lower fans off after stretch, but I couldn't tell you if there was a benefit or not doing it that way.

My defol is a bit more extreme than Sauga's but I agree with doing it after stretch and a week before flipping to flower. I'll remove all lower fans and try getting light to as much of the plant as possible. This is very strain dependent though and I'd do much less defoliating on sativas than on my indicas

I need some peace of mind, it should be here by the 9 th.
I want to get on your schedule...:)

Good Morning,VG...Your plants are looking fantastic!

Lol. That's when my filter should get here.

They appear green and healthy. They are pretty close to the light. I have some mild light bleaching so I'm going to find a way to move it up a bit more. I think they are about 6" away.

I knew that..I just liked the sound of that sentence.;)

I didn't use the pulley thingy to hang my light, just used the little
cables to hang it-one on each end, looped over the bar that came
with the wardrobe box.
Even with that I've only got 34" from floor to light.
I raise the plants instead of lowering the light.

When do y'all do defoliation? It's getting really dark in there. I flipped them on the 11th.
I’d wait until around day ~18, give or take. Look for the new growth to slow down (the lighter green in the center of the leaves at the stems). Once the fans are all the darker green throughout, stretch should be pretty much done and that’s when I do my defol. But as Mr. S said, if it’s really dense, maybe take a select few leaves to help airflow. Sorry if you knew all that already, don’t want to wo-mansplain to you. ;)

I have a big ol filter and fan to work around. I can move it up maybe 3-4" and then I'll hit the fan.

I'm going to be doing smaller plants my next grow. I'd like some more variety. It's going to be an all Barney's Farm grow, but that's a bit away.

I've only removed a few of the big fan leaves. They are sitting on top of each other and leaving wet spots. I tried to tuck them but that just made it worse. I've just been removing a few a week. Just general maintenance stuff, nothing I would consider a defol.

HG has fan leaves the size of my face. She's supposed to be long between the nodes so she is a lot more open. The Lemon is a leafy little beasties with really dense undergrowth. They are polar opposites, so it's been kinda fun growing them together.

wo-mansplain to you. ;)
 I love it!

OK so true story... I've heard many discussions regarding which gender was created first. Man or Woman.
The great prophet of Sativaland, Kushkin, was able to trace the roots back to Adam and Eve. Apparently, and these are his words from the Book of Bongs, Adam was put on this Earth and was designated with the gender of Man. Shortly thereafter, Eve was put on this Earth, and when Adam noticed her he said 'Whoa man!. Eve was then given the gender of Woman.

I'm not sure if you'll find it by googling it but it's an interesting fact.

My filter should be here on Friday. I have been a ball of nerves for a few days now.....had a few anxiety attacks, not severe ones though.

I have my first appointment this week as well. That should be fun.

I have an appointment Friday with my new doctor.
I hope that they work out for you. I hate doctor shopping. It takes time to build a rapport with people and with the quick turnovers of hospitals and clinics it can be difficult.

Why, oh why did I not train my HG? I think she has shown her first light stress. I might have to super crop her a bit more.
I'm not keeping clones of her. 1/4 of the plant has always grown strangely. She has deformed leaves and it's 3-4 inches shorter than the rest of the plant. The bud sites all look deformed. She still smells like a big stinky tomato plant. Impressive growth...yes, but if you like the way the plants smell all throughout your grow...blah. I don't want to "drink in" her scent. The last girls I grew are very pleasingly fragrant and i would find myself just hanging out with them, getting heady from their scent ( and a joint ;)) and just enjoying them more in general. This girl almost has her own repellent. I must say, I don't find it enjoyable. She would make a lovely outdoor plant. She is almost entirely indica and can grow 8-10 feet.

The Lemon is a different story. She's is the true polar opposite of the HG. Fragrant and lovely, she was a dream to train. I wasn't ready for how much she would stretch though. I've never grown a sativa dominant plant and it's been an eye opener. It's going to be fun to keep trying her as I progress with my grows.

Hopefully I will show improvement in both training and growing in general. It seems like I'm progressing at an acceptable pace. I may need your feedback here. Do you see any ways for me to improve that are obvious to you? Something simple I'm missing? I really would appreciate some constructive criticism from y'all. If you feel the need to be blunt, then do it. I'm not going to get any better if I don't take a hard look at myself.
